First hackers attack on exchange in this year

Few days ago Cryptopia has announced on their Twitter that they've been hacked.
According to Whale Alert’s tweets, over $3.5 million worth in cryptocurrency has disappeared from exchange. But we don't know exactly who' has hacked them.
More weird is that stolen assets have being transfered on Binance. Of course, their CEO announced on social media that they've freezed those funds. It looks like hackers were trying to present whole situation as, I don't know, war between exchanges?

This is bad news for markets that are in the recovery phase, making prices fall back down now. Events like this that cause negative sentiment in the market that causes concern from investors, causing sales or withdrawals in large volumes and causing a decline in prices on the market.

The only solution is to have all the exchanges work together. There is no other way for the hacker/s to sell the stolen funds as it can be trace. Unless the hackers sells it to decentralized exchanges. But that can still be trace. From what I know, the local police from where Cryptopia is based is working on the investigation and some special team. Hope the funds can be recovered as I have a few erc20 token stored at cryptopia too.

OMG I read only now news... I have some funds on cryptopia but small quantities and I checked and everything is ok... same rule apply that noone has to leave your coins on any exchange after trading..it's too risky!

Yes, it's best to keep your assets, on wallets you control. On if you are a frequent trader, you leave your assets to the exchange. This can be done to avoid the blockchain transaction fees. It's cheaper, but it's risky.

I read the news about the hack and I still don't believe some exchanges will still allow such thing to still happen after they saw what has happened before. I also think it's a means to make cryptopia popular again as they seems not be heard from for a long time now
