I am also agree with your opinion because in coinmarketcap bitcoin and Ethereum both cryptocurrency are favourite equally. Maximum investors and traders prefer to invest bitcoin and Ethereum.

For now,  I personally prefer in ethereum,  I have used it for short term and trading.  I doubt about bitcoin today.
