It did not really come as a surprise to me. I've read some prediction that bitcoin or crypto bashers like JP Morgan will launch their own. It is a classic "Destroy and Conquer" business move. Unfortunately for them, Bitcoin is still alive.

It is crystal clear that they understood the potential of crypto market even earlier they criticize the crypto market now they are planning to launch its own coin. I believe its a good step for crypto market as well. I hope we will see more big players will enter into this market.

It seems to me that such a turn of events can have positive consequences, especially if investors feel the threat and start actively pouring funds into Bitcoin, which will affect the capitalization and the price!
