In the world of cryptocurrency, anything is possible. However, I do not see any cryptocurrency that can bypass ethereum yet. Ethereum capitalization is now $ 39 billion. Below this coin, ripple is in third place in terms of capitalization with a capitalization level of 11 billion. The $ 28 billion difference is a solid foundation for ethereum's continued second place behind bitcoin.

I don,t think so that any another new coin in the market will cross the ETH coin becasue ETH coin is a great coin and its price is stable but the new coins can not stable their coin price in future.

One more thing is that the Ethereum team is very active and constantly developing their blockchain platform, other projects will have very few opportunities to challenge or surpass Ethereum, at least in the next 5 years.

While ethereum performance cannot be compare to other alts, I dnt use market cap to calculate the performance of a coin. Market cap depends on the initial and total supply of a coin.
However, the recent immense growth of Ethereum cannot be compare to others, the developers deserves some accolades

XRP is the only coin which has the best chance to beat ethereum as we have seen in the past when XRP beat ETH and taken 2nd place by beating Ethereum. In the near future, XRP may beat ethereum if XRP capitalization will increase 3x which is possible.

Right now the attention of the community is on ETH 2.0 Medalla, I don't think a new token can get so much attention, even YFI is just a project of interest and not considered as counterbalance to ETH in terms of technology, solution or capitalization.
Perhaps some newly launched blockchain projects can directly compete with Ethereum if they have revolutionary solutions for the entire community.

I think the major problem with most altcoins this days is that they focus all their attention on overtaken etherum or beating etherum which is a big problem. Altcoins should focus on being a better token, and offering better products, none should be upset about overtaken etherum.

If we visit CoinMarketCap and Coingecko or other exchanges, we can see that ETH is in the second position. However, the position of any coin can be exceeded. But it can't be as popular as ETH. Because ETH controls the entire ETH supported token. ETH controls the whole system so its importance is immense. A lot can be imagined from the imagination. Everything is possible, I think new coin have potential to beat old coin. Because We cannot predict the future of the coin. But It will take several years again. Because old coin is more popular . I have seen there is several new potential coin, maybe It will be top coin at the coming future.

Yes, they can and Ethereum has been pull down by Ripple (XRP) many times. You see the position of the number two position at coinmarketcap is not fixed to Ethereum elone but other altcoins can gain that position even if it is a short period of time. The record of that number two can speak for itself, let check the history of the coinmarket for accurate information.

It only means there's nothing like Ethereum. Even though there are a lot of challenger, ethereum is consistent on its position. People highly trust eth for its unique and interesting platform which massively adopt in so many projects.

Ethereum is nunber two. on crypto currency. I think new coin can not beat ethereum, becayse ethereum is bigger community and maintain this position. It will take several years again, new can beat ethereum.

If the new coin is really potential and has good performance at the market, I think It can beat ethereum.
But we must know , Ethereum is the mother of tokens and so popular. I think It is really hard for new coin beat Ethereum.

Despite some of altcoins might pulldown ethereum, it would not last long. Ethereum can get back again after falling. Before xrp shown potential over eth in coinmarket capitalization but ethereum did its best to get back to rank number two.

I think I doubt new coin can beat ethereum, ethereum is the second of Crypto currency and so popular now.. It is smart contract platform and very potential to be the next bitcoin. I think It is impossible new coin can do it.

Ethereum and bitcoin are no match for other cryptos. Both are pioneers and they are unique, most other crypto projects stem from them. I doubt if any Crypto can over take eth. The only viable competitor I see is xrp.

I can't remember what cryptocurrency they dubbed as an "Ethereum killer". But up to now there are no signs of Ethereum slowing down. They are still growing and the eth dominance is on double digits already. Yes, Bitcoin is far ahead when it comes to dominance but still #2 is not bad place for Eth.

Everything is possible, But not now. It will take several years again. Ethereum is bigger community because Ethereum now smart contract platform. Many tokens have integrated to this coin . Not easy for new coin can beat ethereum.

It's hard to see that in the mid term buddy (2 - 3 years from now).
Only cenario this may happen when a new promising blockchain take over Etherum Dapps, meaning the Etherum Dapps stat to migrate to this new promising blockchain, that way we may see a new coin taking the 2nd place of the biggest Market Cap instead of Etherum.

Like Bitcoin, replacing Ethereum in the market with a relatively new coin or digital asset could be a tough ask. Can you make it more specific, mate? Beat ETH in what matter? If you mean to beat ETH for its popularity, I think it will be hard for new coins. Also, if you mean to beat the market cap, it is too hard for new coins. So, in my opinion, new coins will be difficult to beat ETH, ot even it is a bit impossible. Not only new coins, but old altcoins also seem to get difficulties to beat ETH.

I think it is not possible to catch up ETH market by others because ETH has good marketing strategy by management. At the dump season of market many coin try to beat ETH but could not succeed though xrp once time beat it for short period. But at that time market was very much imbalanced and investors was in hesitation to choose right coin. So now ETH 2.0 coming to make strong ETH policy so i am not believing another cryptocoin can beat ETH.

Why it is not possible? There is no impossibility word in the crypto world. Any new coin like Compound coin can beat Ethereum but it is very difficult to beat. Recently Compound coin price touched $300. If it can hit 1000X pump, it can beat any time. So nothing is impossible but beating ETH is very very difficult in reality.

I don't think it's possible for any new cryptocurrency to beat ETH right now. Many tokens have been integrated into this currency. Many Ethereum based projects are coming to the crypto market as well as many Ethereum based Diff projects are being developed. Also ETH is now coming up with a strong ETH 2.0 policy, which I believe will make it even stronger.

if we talk about price, there are even new comer in crypto world have overtake eth 20X price against to it. let's just take example of decentralize finance project YFI. it's base on ethereum platform that traded currently at $19k even bigger that Bitcoin itself. but I don't think marketcap can be snatch by YFI. it's still BTC and ETH are taking the top position among all crypto currency.

There is a list of many tokens or coins in the coin market cap or CMC. The second place winner is ETH. It is in the second place in terms of popularity. ETH is a good coin. It is popular and much more expensive. But I don't think this coin will be able to do the eighth wonder. Because Bitcoin is the best. So I think Bitcoin will be followed by ETH. Actually, Ripple tried to overtake Ethereum and then it happened. But did not take longer coz Ethereum bounce back again and gain more money to add the market capitalization. Today, Ethereum remain in rank 2 and Ripple in rank 3.

I don't know exactly because everything is possible in crypto market but still ethereum is more strong than other all altcoin and ethereum community is waiting for the ethereum 2.0 I hope ethereum 2.0 will make a biggest impact in ethereum market although many new altcoins performance is better than many top altcoins.

There are actually a lot of altcoins that can become better than Ethereum. However we do not have a single clue among which of these altcoins. If you have heard of Quark Chain with ticker symbol QKC. They have built a better network compared to Ethereum. Not sure if they will be able to beat Ethereum but they have very similar functions. Their CEO is a fan of Vitalik and you know they saying "The student shall surpass its master".

if we talk about market price, there are few tokens in the ethereum blockchain that has a higher price than ethereum.
please take a closer look on below tokens under ethereum blockchain.
1. yearn finance - YFI ($33K)
2. Paxos Gold - PAXG ( $1K )
3. WRAPPED BTC - WBTC (11K)
but if we talk about capitalization ETH is still the highest of all.

I don't think it's possible for any new cryptocurrency to beat ETH right now. Many tokens have been integrated into this currency. Many Ethereum based projects are coming to the crypto market as well as many Ethereum based Diff projects are being developed. Also ETH is now coming up with a strong ETH 2.0 policy, which I believe will make it even stronger.
Why not possible? Have you withnessed in 2018 when XRP beat Ethereum for more than 3 months? Any altcoin like Chainlink, XRP have chance to beat Ethereum any time if market scenario changes but it is difficult to beat ethereum. We have to bear in mind that nothing is impossible in crypto.

No kidding mate, I don't believe new coin will beat ethereum at the market. Ethereum is the second of Crypto currency and I see this coin is always maintaining its rank on CMC. Ripple ever overtake Ethereum, but It is not long. Ethereum has bounced back again.

There are tons of new crypto projects coming out every day, but I don't think any of these projects has what it takes to push Ethereum down from the number 2 spot, although I have seen some nice projects like Polkadot and binance smart chain, but just because they are offering lesser tnx fees, cross chain etc doesn't make them better than Ethereum, so I doubt if any altcoin can the ETH number 2 spot, for me Ethereum is the best altcoin ever created.

There are tons of new crypto projects coming out every day, but I don't think any of these projects has what it takes to push Ethereum down from the number 2 spot, although I have seen some nice projects like Polkadot and binance smart chain, but just because they are offering lesser tnx fees, cross chain etc doesn't make them better than Ethereum, so I doubt if any altcoin can the ETH number 2 spot, for me Ethereum is the best altcoin ever created.
