Altcoins on the other hand can rise as much as possible but who knows the ones that will perform well? Is he saying BTC can't rise 50x in this bull run or overall? If he is saying BTC can't rise 50x in this bull run while ALTs can then it's the most dumbest comparison I have ever seen. I mean ALTs are obviously more volatile than BTC and they can even give you 100x. 50x is a small number for ALTs. Although finding such alts is so rare as you have to take part in the pre-sales or private-sale to get such alts.
Till now I did not find a single alt that could make me more than 10x. Well, I think till now I was not able to make 5x even from an alt coin. Overall, I will say in the current market BTC can't even give us 2x so 50x is a quite a far target.

Based on history, and its current price, Bitcoin can't rise 50 times in a single bull run anymore, but altcoins can do it. The question is, which altcoins will make that kind of a rise? During the last bull run, I can remember AXS (Axie Infinity) token went up to as high as $120 during the bull run and went up I think more than 30x at least.
As for altcoins having a bull market, it will a few months after Bitcoin started its huge price increase. We know that the price movement of altcoins depends on Bitcoin, and I believe that the movement of altcoins compared to Bitcoin is a bit laggy hence, I expect altcoins to enter the bull run a few months after Bitcoin.

I guess this guy is correct that one could not anymore expect Bitcoin to give an investor something like x50 in returns, though I would say that it is way a lot better compared to other investment vehicles but because there is that high volatility there is always that risk associated with it. Now, if one is looking for the potential to experience the best possible returns - like x10, x50, x100 or even x1000 - the arena belongs to the alts. However, one should note that with this big possible rewards comes the big risk of actually getting x0 at the end. So one has to select wisely among the thousands of choices in the altcoin market and pray that the Lady Luck will be smiling on you.

Truly everyone is looking forward to seeing the next bull run but no one has any clue. Only speculations from different corners from the so called influencers and co. There has never been much accurate prediction on bull run and every season has it's own way of inception different from the previous. So I think this year's own might likely not be the same pattern or ways as it was in the previous years. Possibly, there might be a different scenario and event altogether that would trigger the bull which no one has expected.

Hmm, not every altcoin is gonna give you 50x returns not even every altcoin is gonna give you 10x for sure it all depends on the marketing work on the project and community support. As you know there are many well-known projects still in my view that will be hard for those projects to make a 10x in this bull market. some potential projects can help you have 20x almost well no one can be sure about but yup in the market a certain exception exists. Alt season is for a renowned move of the market. Where the capital from top projects starts distributing to the lower channel alt coins with potential futures.

As you know there are many well-known projects still in my view that will be hard for those projects to make a 10x in this bull market.
Surely, this is just a game of chance as nobody knows which altcoin will really give us the best investment returns into the future. And with greed leading some people, there can be a big risk of capital here if one is not careful. However, we already know and even experienced this reality in the cryptocurrency market. There had been good projects with good people behind but then they failed to get the imagination of the people so they eventually folded up and just gone to thin air...on the other hand there were also we considered as bad projects but they ignited the support of a big community and eventually ended up in credible exchanges. Such is the life of investing in altcoins where many shitcoins also reside giving us the best possible rewards and the corresponding risks.

The better time to buy some potential altcoins was at the start of current year but most of the people have missed that opportunity due to ignorance but if they buy at current worth then it does not mean that they will not be in profit because current worth is not higher and will get better during alt season which is coming very soon.

I just checked on Coinmarketcap, today many coins have dropped in price. maybe this is a good time to enter, Shiba and Ton even fell to 10%, and many also fell to 8%. Even Uni fell to 13%.

I also think that people are really scared to be caught with loss because if you look at Bitcoin on the monthly chart, you will notice that it looks bearish.

Yeah exactly. Altcoin most of the time depends on the movement of Bitcoin and since Bitcoin right now seem on sideways or a little bit down we will expect Altcoin to bleed as well. But of course Altcoin season will come thpugh there is no exact time when but this time much better to accumulate more or you will miss the opportunity.

Getting this type of situation definitely something on the way, because bull run is inevitable after such a bear run period we had last year and year before that. We just need to be a bit more patient, not a lot, I believe before the end of the year comes we will see it. However a lot of people will miss it because we are not seeing it changing that much, we are seeing the situation to be a little bit more sensitive. I think the best way to move forward would be just relaxing and hoping for the best, because if we can relax and ignore all the naysayers and keep on holding, we are going to make a good profit.

I just checked on Coinmarketcap, today many coins have dropped in price. maybe this is a good time to enter, Shiba and Ton even fell to 10%, and many also fell to 8%. Even Uni fell to 13%.
True. We have red market today, most of coins dropped their prices quite a lot. Some coins dropped more than 10%, please check the prices of SOL, MATIC, ADA, NEAR, AVAX, DOT, and LINK. I personally don't like meme coins, so I never have the intention to buy Doge or SHIB although they dropped their prices quite high, too.
While I checked ETH and BNB, they only fell by approximately 3%. This is really the right time to enter the market, and of course buy some selected coins according to our means.
ETH and BNB dropped below 5%. They prove that there are still good demand on these coins although the market is in red. However, I prefer to buy ETH if I want to buy today. BNB has reached its new ATH, meanwhile ETH still doesn't create a new ATH. For me, it is safer to invest in ETH.

Yeah exactly. Altcoin most of the time depends on the movement of Bitcoin and since Bitcoin right now seem on sideways or a little bit down we will expect Altcoin to bleed as well. But of course Altcoin season will come thpugh there is no exact time when but this time much better to accumulate more or you will miss the opportunity.
The price of Bitcoin is reducing and now it is 65k$ so obviously the price of altcoins will also reduce but this situation is not for making yourself worried but it is for making yourself profitable through altcoins and bitcoin investment. Also don't forget that the altcoins possess the ability to give you profit but as everybody knows that only top coins can be profitable during the bull season of altcoins which is coming soon so don't dive directly into altcoins with the hope of getting wealthy.

To summarize, it's BTC first then the money moves from BTC to Alts.
There are exceptions to the rule like the meme tokens launched from Solana or Bitcoin blockchain that suddenly pumps out of nowhere. They do not follow the trend and don't make sense at all but, in general, the above summary holds true in the world of crypto.

Cool, congrats to your first bull run experience, just sit and relax and see how it goes. Experience will be good as well, and as long as you have accumulate enough altcoins, solid altcoins then you will make a profit. Not that I'm against Meme coins, but it's like a gamble or a big risk so I'm not into them.
Definitely when Bitcoin markets goes on a parabolic rise, sooner or later it will have a trickle effect to the altcoin market and it will also see some gains and both market having their own bull run. I am trying to deposit some bitcoins through DCA although its price is relatively high compared to the price of altcoins. At the same time trying to increase the size of some stash of altcoins. Thats true. Patience is all we need as we wait for the bull market to really take off by next year. However, it's not going to be an easy roller coaster ride because we don't know the exact time for each coin we hodl will give their ATH before we sell.
To be on the safe side, have a set price for each of the coins you hodl, so that whenever it gets to that price, you will be able to sell it off without worrying about what other price it will get to during the bull run

There are always some exceptions, but 99 out of 100 altcoins are somewhat profitable within a year of hitting the market, everything else has the life span of a piece of meteorite that flashes as it burns up in the atmosphere and never appears again.

Of course we can never be able to predict an altcoins because there future is uncertain and besides I have not actually had anybody trying to study an altcoins in other to be able to predict what the price will be a particular period of time, which is why I can never consider an altcoins for a long term holding because any coins that's not stable enough for people to understand how the price will be within a certain period is very risky for an investment.
However in the case of Bitcoin is totally different from every other coins because in as much as predicting the price will be very difficult but people have already studied and run numerous analysis of the price movement to know how it behaves when a certain period is close, and also it was from those analysis we came to know that there is always a bull market after halving, so perhaps which is one of the good qualities of a good coin.

You can see from the date you posted this thread to till now BTC has made huge dumps which means it is not more stable and people started to sell their BTC and already started to buy alts. Some are already buying alts and some think the market is highly unstable at the moment so it's better to sit aside and wait for it to cool down.
I am one of the last ones who think it's not good to trade at the moment but those who bought the dip are enjoying it now. Altcoin will surely have a bull run coming soon but no one knows for sure when. Even if it comes who knows which altcoin will pump because not every altcoin will pump.

You don't need to be a rocket scientist to see that though, there are altcoins that can go higher in matter of years with that kind of multiplier, but then again, it's the question of stability and the support and the consensus of the community because we all know that if an altcoin even rises for more than x20 in a given bull run, it's a pump and dump or just a hype project. And then after that initial pump, the project might died suddenly. Or if they rises like that, same thing can happen, in the bear market, it will surely go down again like what we have seen -90% or higher and gonna be a hard time to recover. So for me it's better to just invest on Bitcoin as the gains might be small as compare to altcoins, but it is going to be very strong and you can sleep well at night without being nervous that tomorrow the project might literally go to 0. Bitcoin is too big to fall.

I think it is Bitcoin that actually experience a Bull run so far this year, unfortunately there is yet to be altcoins season or rather, an altcoins Bull run. Altcoins Bull run may not happen this year if Bitcoin continues it's dominance, and I doubt if Btc will maintain that stability that willing gives altcoins market the required bull ran.
As a matter of facts, there is always a potential demand for Bitcoin every time, and that explains why BTC is more traded on the daily basis. I personally fill that altcoins may not experience a Bull run this year because it may be very difficult for Bitcoin dominance percentage to go down.

Yeah you are correct regarding there is no exact time when Altcoin bull run will happen but to prepare for it we will of course buy Altcoins that we think has huge potential to skyrocket when Altcoin bull run comes. I personally holds shitcoins with me especially the Solana memecoins and as of the moment one is doing great and others are in red I am still hoping for it's recovery but expecting something good could be a 50/50 atleast I have few holdings and it's better than nothing.

everybody i think hold some kind of altcoin, they may have bet on it to make profit or just earn them from campaigns so obviously we want its price to pump. and its chance will be the bull run a few months after halving. it would be disappointing if its not happening while BTC is rising every week and the altcoins are not.
i also expect a huge return in holding the memecoin that is pretty much the most popular in SOL. i didn't miss buying bonk months ago. but since its plunge i almost forgot about the small adventure but if bull run is on its peak i will definitely scramble to find its privatekeys to dump them.

It seems like everyone is just predicting Bitcoin's movements because altcoins are all affected by what happens to Bitcoin. I agree, that you should always be wise in preparing by buying potential altcoins that are ranked the best to date. It will be safer and there is no fear that this will happen.

Most of them are hype, meme and then we have the shit coins. Fortunately, they can go as high as x100 or higher. But the thing is that it's not going to be sustainable at least in the long run.

Although we can't stop investors, there are huge risk involved and if they are not that careful and become greedy, even seeing a x50 might not make them sell and then the next day it can go down hard.

This is not sufficient for us to have another bull run. Bitcoin but run is more than just the common basic economy of demand and supply. What you should be after are now macro economics of Bitcoin which are the political motions going right now in the US. I started this my crypto journey in the late 2021 and became active in the early 2022 and I have been discussing and contributing to crypto related threads and monitoring the market yet, I have not seen any altcoin bull market or run. And when I joined the community, bitcoin was at the rate of $42k and that was early 2022 and in the second and third quarters of that the same year of 2022, bitcoin price reduced to $16k and in the fourth quarter of the year, bitcoin price started rising up again and in 2023 the price above 20k dollar and in 2024 the price hit All Time High. But I have not seen this movement from altcoins.

It is more like a pump and dump situation. As we know, price of altcoins depends on bitcoin so if bitcoin increases so does altcoins but there are some cases where altcoins increase without the influence of bitcoin price but it didn't stay that way until it goes back to the way it was which is it depends on bitcoin price movement.

I invest more in altcoins than bitcoin with a ratio of 25% bitcoin and 75% altcoins. I think ttop coins are not high risk so I consider it safe and we can invest our money there. there are many safe altcoin options for investment such as Ethereum, BNB, Solana, TON, XRP and TRX.

You are correct here that based on historical data altcoins do not always correlate to bitcoin, in fact, they go down sometimes when bitcoin goes up. Elements for example the fundamental of every altcoin has a key part to do in the price of that specific altcoin. For instance, Dogecoin has not made such a rise because there is no stimulus to pull it up. Bitcoin has reached a new ATH today of $75K, so it is likely that by the end of this year we will see bitcoin prices above $75K. in investing we need confidence and this is what makes us always in the crypto market, being a holder or trader is a choice in investing in crypto. because both can generate profits, I am not a professional trader but often trade when I see the market is very good for trading.

But I don't think that something like 2 years is going to be a year of altcoins where we're already on this year when the bitcoin halving happened. I am saying this because that halving plays a huge role and impact to Bitcoin and Bitcoin impacts majority of the altcoins with its dominance, and that's the reality of this market. If we're basing in the past cycles, it's only from the halving date + a year so 2025 could be the altcoins season and by 2 years from now which makes it 2026 could be the bear market.
Mate, this year Bitcoin halving did not make reasonable impact on the prices of Bitcoin (altcoins), but the previous years halving performance was huge. In my opinion, must of these Bitcoin events like, ETF, having, pizza day, has not reflecting much on Bitcoin prices, or enhance the demand.
Concerning altcoins season, it is not completely certain that a four year Bitcoin circle determined wether there will be altcoins seasons, but I think altcoins seasons are usually determined by Btc dominant factor market index. According to some analyst, if the rate keep rising, altcoins will continue to bleed, and it has certain rate on the market index that determine altcoins serson movements.
I think that currently, there may not be any altcoins season because Dominance is high, currently standing on 58.94% as at the time of writing.

You see, if Bitcoin manages to go up a lot this month, then it's going to drag many altcoins up in price as well, we're going to see a renaissance of crypto projects, users will start coming, and transaction fees will soar.

Yep. So far, we only have small correction in Bitcoin price. Altcoins also experienced small correction. But you must be aware that the prices of most altcoins tend to increase. Every year has its own characteristics, and when people start paying more attention to the altcoin market, people are able to transfer their forward from Bitcoin to altcoins if they believe in the particular altcoin during that year.
This can be used to our advantage with a free roaming approach, that is always ready to follow the market without getting fixated with one particular outcome. If there is a transfer of value, then, allows us to capitalise on altcoins with good performances. However, if not, just working on stable assets, like Bitcoin again, gives a sound strategy. Thus, we are constantly present in the market and do not concentrate on assumptions that can be unprofitable in the long term although that altcoins have a great potential in the medium term.

If that should be the case, then we shouldn’t be expecting any altcoin seasons asides from what we are seeing now in the market. I feel when bitcoin rises, the altcoins will also follow suit and rise with bitcoin and then when the altcoin season arrives, bitcoin may just be in a state of consolidation and won’t really have much volatility to go up and down in the market which may still affect the movement of altcoins when it’s initiated. I read in the past that during the altcoin season, there is always transfer of money from bitcoin to other altcoins. I don’t know how true it is, but technically, if feels too good to be untrue about it.
When the BTC DOM factor falls off - we ball with alts.
Because everybody would try to pour their funds into them / get the train still rolling after the BTC correction.

Some coins are built differently, and they react to the Bull differently - take TON or XRP for example.
They didn't pump that much, why so?
Overall mood, they still didn't have their time to shine, or something else? Only time will tell.

The problem now with altcoins is that when Bitcoin makes a small correction, they tend to drag their price down with Bitcoin even though they haven't gotten any significant price in their previous all time high. I really hope things get better in this market because it's strange.
Yep. So far, we only have small correction in Bitcoin price. Altcoins also experienced small correction. But you must be aware that the prices of most altcoins tend to increase. It keeps increasing gradually although there are some small dumps. I think it is a good sign, it possibly creates the chance of a more massive increase.
Just hold big alts, have some patience, and see BTC do its magic as time goes on and the rally for it becomes stronger and stronger.
I do think we are totally not over yet and alts will shine through.

I was thinking that Bitcoin is going to do the usual trick of run in the market, like it will go and hit a new all time high and then consolidate for some weeks to give altcoins some chance. This is the period you see different altcoins running up in the market with profit but this time around, Bitcoin seems not settled yet and meme coins are the coins exploding this time around.
It is not a usual trick, it is its habit. :D
Sure, Bitcoin needs to consolidate or start its sideways period. This will enable the altcoins to grow in a more massive way. Investors may change their focus on altcoins temporarily because they assume Bitcoin won't be very profitable anymore. We seem almost start this period of sideways on Bitcoin.
The BTC Dom factor is still quite high in my book, so we need to see BTC drop after getting ATH after ATH in the future to see alts really working out in terms of green PNL, in my opinion.

The altcoin season that many people expect does bring much hope but we the must be prepared to accept the reality of the market. The current price high is due to high interest, but with alt coins there is always that level of risk involved. Instead of narrowly fixating on the possible significant reversal, we are able to manage the positions of our investments based on the small available variations. Thus, on the one hand, one can derive benefits from opportunities on the other hand, one can have realistic expectations.
The altcoins season is something that always happen in each bullrun season. It is normal if people really expect on altcoins season. They expect to see the prices of their altcoins assets to increase significantly. However, it is true that we must always be careful and we must see the reality. Not each altcoin can increase although it is in altcoins season. That's why we must be selective in choosing altcoins, we also need to analysis about the worse thing that possibly happens.
