Europe, specially Germany, already said they will spend much more money than they have. Argentina isn't doing that. It is reducing debts over the years .

Germany was issuing negative bonds in 2022, they have 280 billion locked in negative for 15 and 30 years, wouldn't you take debt at those rates?  ;D

Ofc bonds in Europe are much more solid than bonds in Argentina. But you are thinking the wrong way.
Emerging markets pay way higher interest rates. If you had put money in Argentina 2 years ago, you would probably have made more money than investing in cryptocurrencies.

And if I put them in 4 or 9 or 17 years ago, I would have a flat...zero ;D
Reducing the deficit doesn't mean they can afford to service debt, that's why nobody is afraid of Japan not paying their debts even at 200% GDP while nobody would lend a penny to Ethiopia, which failed to issue bonds on just 35% debt ratio, lower than any country in the EU.

No, sorry, every time Argentina does something good with its economy it's just a sign that something worse will come.

Anyhow we're going off-topic here

Maybe not were you leave, but some people are buying Argentina bonds. More everyday. This is why the price is going up since milei joined...

Call it gambling, better, 9.5% in Euro-denominated debt is not investing, is betting  ;)
But anyhow, you know what I meant, one coin has utility as a payment currency, the other is promising returns based on, god knows what Buttercup has in mind now.
It's like comparing silver coins with stocks back in the day before ww1.

In view of the existing circumstances, even for large projects such as Ethereum, mining has begun to be called off. This just prove that the essence of crypto was not in the creation of machines that dig new blocks but in the need among people to come up with something that is more fair and less oppressive.

First thing, machines don't dig new blocks, nor do they drill for blocks or anything else, they solve blocks!
Second thing, how did ETH fare since it switched from POW? Lost what 5%, 10% ,or 50% against Bitcoin?

Bitcoin vs Altcoins: What's the Difference and Which One Should You Start With?

Ok, so....what's the difference because well, you didn't list a single one!
I seriously don't get this trend of newbies starting topics in which they claim to help others understand stuff and give literally no real information, just 8 lines of nothing.

Also, I fail to see why anyone should trade something based on how they understand that process, I don't think anyone is an engineer before trading oil, a pharmacist before trading pharmaceutical shares, or an expert in lithography before buying NVIDIA stock. And before anyone says you need to know about Bitcoin before trading, I would remind you that people still don't understand how mining and confirmations work, and I'm not talking about newbies but unfortunately, veteran members.

so lets say 2% of 1000 coins is 20 coins a year at 36,000 a year income if you simply cash the interest  and you put up $250
for 10,000 coins it is 200 x 1800 = 360,000 a year income if you simply cash the interest and you put up $2500
and for 100,000 coins it is 2000 x1800 = 3,600,000 a year income if you cash the interest and you put up $25000

Phil, coisna re no different than Fiat.
Printing insane amounts of coins and not back them up will simply result in more coins with less value.

You can't generate that amount that would attract billions without somehow magically giving out billions too, that would either lead to Zimbabwe or Celsius, depending on the model based to pay the interest.

I do disagree but mostly because of the time gap ETH ath was in 2021
solana ath was this year.

And it can go through the ETH story nevertheless, just because it experienced an ATH there is absolutely nothing that guarantees another one, not for solana not for Ethereum either, it's all based on incoming money, but what happens if simply there is none?

because in principle crypto is not only because of mining but there are many aspects that can happen and all can run with many who participate in it and are not directly connected to mining alone.

False.
Without mining, be it PoS or Pow, there will be no crypto because you can't exchange it anymore, you can't move it anymore, so who is going to pay you something for your coins when they can't receive them?

I agree with what you said that both are very necessary and inseparable parts and very important and very interconnected. It is indeed very difficult not to have a relationship between them. If they really need each other by themselves, they will always be one unit to need each other.

You still don't realize that without mining there is no purpose for any coin and there is no utility for it.

That is dumbfounding indeed!
Why would anybody want to go to prison? It should be a place that you do not like going to, not a place you want to go to.

Because life outside is too harsh.
Back in the 90s when all of Eastern Europe was still poor and you had by no means an easy life in an overcrowded prison, there were still known people here in the neighborhood that starting autumn would steal in the open something or break a glass or door just so they could be sentenced to 3 to 6 months in prison during winter, the police knew them, the judge knew them, they just needed a guaranteed warm place and food.

A few other cryptocrrencies are basically here to stay, like Litecoin, BCH, Tron, and Doge.

Seriously? Seriously?
Well, at least one can be happy you didn't say BSV, but still BCH?
Litecoin is on life support from Doge, BSV and BCH only served as by passing fees on BTC, there is no future for them.

+1 This sound convincing, but honestly, I don't know if there is an active investigation or if the service has decided to shut down.
The only document published is a fraud lawsuit against several entities, including eXch, requesting that they freeze the coins.
https://dockets.justia.com/docket/new-jersey/njdce/2:2025cv01805/564066.

Huge difference between inquiries, a subpoena, and an active case.
Probably the team got hundreds of them, the whatever entity was conducting the inquiry just didn't get public, the above is a lawsuit from a party of victims, it has to go through public since it's a process in court, a prosecution case is secret until it's filed with a court.

This might be a naive opinion, but why don't US companies simply order the products form China to their European subsidiaries when they want to buy something? And then from Europe they can pay someone to ship the order to them in their name or something. It technically skirts the tariffs, but I don't suppose that regulations would allow that (plus it would make Trump quite unhappy that US companies are basically evading his executive order).

Illegal.
All products are taxed for the country of origin, not the last destination.
It would be illegal by both US standards and EU customs as it will get them in trouble here too for tax purposes. If it were so simple to avoid, everyone would set up a deposit based on countries with the least import tax and do so, but the penalties are so big that you could end up with more in a fine than one year of sales.

It can work if it's a company selling 100 teddy bears a month, no way you're going to get away with 20 000 containers a year.

Blockchain Technology / Re: Time to switch to Altcoins?

What do you think about VANA? You can also share your discoveries.

Price when OP started this topic: $35.
Price now $6.

If you would have fallen for his shilling you would have lost 85% of your wealth wth this shitcoin!

There's a time to switch to altcoins, which should be the top ones.

How has switching from BTC to ETH or SOL or ADA worked for last year?  ;D

We all know that printing more money will just create inflation and recession.

PRINTING MONEY ALONE does not generate inflation!

A government can handle everyone's 1 quadrillion dollars, if everyone just sticks that money in their mattress, there will be no inflation.
A government can handle everyone 1000 pizza coupons, inflation will not move a bit in any other sector than ingredients for pizza but good luck finding those ingredients are less than 500% initial price.

Japan has printed money for two decades, and their inflation has never experienced more than 2%, nor have they entered recession.

You can print 100 times the monetary mass, if people don't want to consume extra with the money they or their business has received you will have a flat ZERO inflation!

Why does it feel that the Rich keeps getting Richer no matter who is in power?
~
But somehow no matter which political party is in charge, the wealth gap just keeps growing massively.

Because you're just listening to people complaining and missing out real-world facts
https://ourworldindata.org/economic-inequality

We are going through the lowest inequality and income gap in human history ever!
But no, let's ignore facts, let's just complain!

I have some faith in vitalik's blockchain  ;)

Some can be anything between 0.00001 and 1 million, how much it's there actually?
Besides, with Monero being used as a privacy coin price matters way less, I mean even the peso and the rial were and are still used, but nobody was buying Argentine's debt as an investment  ;D
Investment and utility have gone their separate ways, just like these two coins.

but we sometimes forget something that Trump is still a politician and also a businessman. so anything can be done and everything is arranged.

How many times do I have to say it, the terms are con artist and lying PoS!
He is lying to everyone without even flinching:

If anyone believes even one word coming from his mouth then it also deserves what's coming for him!

Friendly reminder to everyone:

This discussion started when ETH was over 3k and one step away from reaching a new ATH over 4k.  ;D
So, ...how can I say that, ...even jumping 100% from the current price is below the expectations we were supposed to get a year ago!
