If you don't have any knowledge then how can you hold. Though holding is less risky then trade but knowledge is much needed. You can not do anything in crypto market with having knowledge or experience.

Personally, I have made many mistakes in trading, but this did not add to my experience. I just stopped trading because it’s not mine. And I also stopped holding altcoins, because it didn’t bring any profit to me.

Absolutely right. But there are some who try to hodl without understanding. They just doing it because that what they read in a telegram group or someone told them to do so.

Without knowing details of any coins we should not hold that. Actually very  beginning of my crypto life i hold some coins for long-term. But After a long time i see that the project is dead there is no trisection of that particular coin. There are several coins are in wallet which are already dead. So you need to be very careful to hold any coin.
