As I'm checking my old wallets that I almost forgot for years , I found out that I still have my NEO in it in which One of my favorite coin when ii first drop in crypto world, and reading this thread again i am thinking what to do ,.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/neo/

with 15 dollars price , wondering if I will release this or maintain my holding since this chinese coin is very promising back in the days.
Neo had a successful bullrun in 2017 and was considered the Chinese Ethereum, but unfortunately, it did not achieve the success that investors had hoped for. Neo was almost forgotten during the bullrun 2021 and is currently no longer mentioned by any crypto KOL. No one is following Neo technological developments or ecosystem, no one is suggesting investing in NEO or analyzing NEO price chart. It's really a pity for a potential Layer-1 blockchain project!

I'm not sure why Neo failed, maybe it was abandoned by the whales after they made big profits in 2017. The tokenomics of ICOs in 2017 were not generally beneficial for long-term manipulation: all tokens were unlocked during the ICO and whales would have to spend a lot of time and financial effort to accumulate a large portion of the tokens during the crypto winter. New projects with Pre-sales and Private-sales are really more attractive options than old projects like Neo.
Oh man , thanks for this worth a read advise , I think I will dump these NEO now as the hopes may end here , maybe will consider replacing other currency that may give me better result this coming bullrun.

Really appreciated this Buddy , will update this thread after bullrun what I decided and what have the decisions brings me.

Old coins that have been surviving in the market for a long time and are increasing in value day by day must be trusted like SOL can be an example.  It is a coin with a lot of potential for the future where investment can make a lot of profit.  There are many old coins that have a very good future so they must be trusted and invested in.
Order altcoins are trusted because they are well tested coins so everyone is familiar with its success but people often try to choose new coins as they have heard that they will give them abrupt and huge revenue but all heard information is not worthy.

Solana is a good project and is more trusted and accepted currently due to its booming favorable outcome and immense demand. Old coins have clear history so its success is obvious while the success of new coins always remains hidden until it goes higher in worth and does not add itself in scam projects.
It's natural that someone wants to choose a new coin, because the price and bonuses received are sometimes excessive, so many people are interested in owning it, even though it's not guaranteed that they will be able to make a contribution to those who choose the coin. However, speculating is sometimes preferred because, hoping that there will be a surprise, it is possible that you will get great value.
You are right, SOL and BNB are currently chasing each other to reach the best position in the ranking, even though it is not easy for SOL to displace BNB, because the community is quite good.
Comparing old and new coins, there will always be differences. It doesn't mean that old coins will be better because many of them can't develop, but if the old ones are among the best ranking and have potential, they will clearly be more trusted.

        -    If the potential that an old coin has still remains, why can't I continue to trust them? The old coins that I think will still be released in the crypto space market are Matic, Bnb, Eth, Xrp, Qtum, Idex, and Dogecoin.

These are just a few that can be said if I also have a few holdings of the ones I mentioned because the trading volume and marketcap are still good and good in the market, so I think it will keep up.

In the past people were afraid of losing money but now people are more interested in taking the risk because they know that the greater the risk the greater will be the bonuses. Surprise moments come randomly so it is up to us that We should also invest a small amount in new coins because when they grow in their worth then their growth is faster and higher than that of older ones.

New coins come and are successful most of the time but they cannot replace older coins as they already have attained that position which no other coin can ever get. We should not compare old and new coins with each because every coin has its own place and the success rate of every coin is different from each other but remember that your invested amount also has some impact on your profit so it is better to invest more in top coins and less in new and unknown coins.

Of course you're right. Take example AVAX, DOT, SOL. coins I'm looking at and have in my portfolio!!. So yes I'm buying!!.

That is one of the reasons why we still believe in the old coins, because we have seen them survive in bloody market situations and in situations like that not all coins can survive.

and also old coins also have a high level of trust, not all but most are like that. So the possibility that we can make a profit by holding this coin is also large, especially if we invest in the right coin. But we also have to do research first, that's the main thing.
Old coins are good as long as they have life, for example the first CMC coins, in the case of ETH, and the first ones are very good, but I have seen some tokens that are very old and that no longer have life, and for me it is almost impossible for them to go up in price again. Well, at least with the little experience that I have, I think that these types of Projects will not have life , now I Know that they are there and still have life, so we have to keep taking advantage of it, besides they are in a very good moment because bitcoin has many tendencies to rise and that helps all cryptocurrencies in general.
As I said before, even though it is an old project and can survive, we also have to be able to choose which assets we can invest in, because not all old coins are profitable, because they are difficult to move.

I usually look at how strong their community is, because that is one of the factors why they can survive and it can also be a consideration for us. The reason is that with a strong and solid community they usually also have a big influence on price increases.

Well the truth is that your way of thinking gives me a lot of hope and well yes, you have a point, the community is very important in every project, I think that without community there will be no project, things are always good when there is support, in any project when they lose their community it falls apart and getting up is very Difficult, I really don't see it viable, I always focus on doing things well in every project as much as I can, but always not forgetting my experience , that's why it's always good to take advantage of everything that can be offered in the projects and take it, you never Know when it might end.

The community always supports something with potential, and this potential can be awakened by being an active developer and team to keep the project running, developing, growing and expanding. Can't lie anymore, that everyone is always close to the source of money, and cryptocurrency coins are backed by the project behind them... in other words, as long as the developer has a good history of project development, and cares about the growth of the business model, they are clearly attractive the attention of the community to approach.

The longer this is done, the stronger the project will be and the more the community will be interested in investing in the project... including institutional investors. So age is not entirely an expectation, but also what the team and developers have done and achieved is always a consideration for new and early investors.

Every new or old project that produces coins/tokens is of course determined by how big their role is in getting many investors interested in releasing their funds, so that they can contribute to further development. In the next stage, I agree that the role of the community is very important to be able to always make a big contribution to the trading that can be done, without their role everything would not be able to run and result in prices dropping and many investors leaving, making coins/tokens worthless and disappeared from exchange.

.The role of the community is very important in a new project, because we know that new projects need popularity. The more popular and many users the project will survive, it will also increase demand for the coins.  That's why there is promotion on social media about projects and coins that are being launched.

There is another thing that is often a concern for every new and old coin, namely coin community which is the main factor in the progress and fomo of a coin. In my opinion, if the dev only promotes on social media without a team (community), I think their project will be difficult for the public to recognize.

I have a slightly different perspective: the community is not as important as the participation of large funds or whales. A good project may have many users, but the token price may not increase strongly because the token is always available on the market and is often priced higher than its real value. Conversely, a project that is invested in and supported by whales will have a better chance of seeing its token price increase because the whales have bought a lot of tokens and they will pump the token price to maximize their profits during bullrun.

I believe that both whales and retail investors are important for the survival and success of a token, but the money flow and manipulation of whales play a slightly more important role. The success of a token is when it is chosen and included in the investment portfolios of whales. For example, Solana faced many difficulties after the collapse of FTX but made a spectacular comeback thanks to the strong inflow of money from large institutions during the crypto winter.

I'm not too optimistic about Matic soon but XRP could start a bull run next year if not this year. It depends mainly on the ruling of the SEC case. If XRP can win the case then this coin will be much higher than the current price in the long run. There is no reason to worry about Ether and BNB because these coins future are bright. Although the case against BNB is ongoing, we can see Banance winning this case as well. I can trust Ether XRP and BNB as altcoins.

Yes but only a few, like Ethereum, Osmosis, Hive— i.e, the ones that keep developing useful new things and keep the coin relevant.

There are other type of coins that do push updates but follow whatever is new trend, example being $LISK, it is pretty old coin, but they went on to ride layer 2 hype train recently. I'm not fan of these.

Old is old. Nothing old can not catch development, progress and demand. We see old coins in top, because they were first to appear, built some kind of reputation and now only have a trading volume due to that. These old coins can bring some profit, but any new project will beat it if we consider investing and real profit. As to technology, all those old coins arent able to give what cryptocurrency market needs today. What most of old coins promised? New blockchain? Now nobody is surprised by that. Transaction speed? We have already lots of fast blockchains. Banking wire replacement? Is this really needed? People still use bank wire and dont want to switch to anything different.

~snip~

Yes, you're right and I think one of the things is that the community is always happy, always keeping them happy so they can do Excellent work, a community that is Always in a project is because they have enough time where they feel good and that is something they can notice, in short, as long as the community can perceive Rewards they will always support a project , but if you treat the community badly you have to forget about that because they will not have even the slightest support from it, I think all of that is what depends the most, of course in my opinion and myExperience in the projects.
