This usually occurs if someone is connected to VPN while accessing or their ISP restricted this website for whatsoever.

The above error occurs if DDOS-Guard determines that your IP address is spam IP address. This often occurs when connecting from free VPN providers or those in which thousands of users share the same IP address.

Yes, that's right.

And since this fake and phishing website are still up:

I would urge everyone specially members of the campaign to put pressure on the domain provider and send them an email,

Let the pressure coming on them so that they will take action and will see the massive concern from taking down these phishing link and if they will be other that will appear in the nearest future. Coinomize is already a popular brand and that's why cons are taking advantage of it and trying to catch some users that might use the service but the wrong one. I hope that all of these fake websites will taken down asap.
A long and exhausting struggle. Even if one fake domain is shut down, a new one will probably appear on the same day.
Educating people about the proper use of the Internet and recognizing fake sites seems to be a very important, but rather complicated process.
You are right. It cannot be stopped so, informing the other people on how to deal and avoid fake lwebsites that copies coinomize is gonna be the way and with that, it is not going to be only about this but also about the application through how we browse and determine fake and genuine websites.

I remember reading another popular crypto exchange got DNS hijacked recently, granted the fault likely lies on the hosting/domain provider instead of the team. I don't think any website is safe from attack like that, especially when the team can't control how to secure the registrar record on their own. I wonder if we can verify the clearnet website in one way or another other than making sure the domain name is correct, especially when Coinomize becomes more popular in the future.

Some time ago I wrote on the other forum that I would consider implementing phishing detection for mixer domains on my site.

It seems to be scamming season now, and now that I'm seeing phishing domains left and right, I am probably going to accelerate those efforts to get it done and implemented.

It's not going to stop all phishing attempts but it's definitely going to be something of value for the community.

That's a good idea. There's no stopping these cammers from buying fake domains and hosting service is too lazy to prevent scammers from buying one, at the end of the day it's in our hands to avoid them. I wonder if your tool can also detect DNS hijack or something similar, since that seems to be a new trend. Unfortunately most people are too lazy to double check everything so they can be sloppy at times.

I'm not sure if there's a way for the team to do that but as users that know the service of coinomize, it's more of being aware of it and remembering the actual and correct domain. But it will be brilliant if there are measures like that, it seems a good idea and any kind of protection to avoid users being misled and fooled by the cons that ride to the popularity of websites like coinomize.biz.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this but I noticed julerz bumping the ann token for Coinomize but it's the one placed on the Trash section. Is that intentional or did he mistakenly choose the wrong thread to bump? I thought the ann thread was deleted at first.

-snip-
I read about client-side DNS verification on another forum, but the tech is not ready yet afaik. If it becomes easy to implement I guess Coinomize can easily implement it, though based on my understanding it needs a proactive approach from the user instead of the hosting/domain provider. CMIIW.

In my opinion, this is what signature companies on forums are for.
Persons who are interested in using Bitcoin mixers (and this is a very useful part of the overall infrastructure of the first cryptocurrency) can click on the forum member’s signature, go to coinomize.biz and start using the mixer.
This is a very reliable method and it minimizes the risk of going to a phishing site.
Because phishing is truly a very unpleasant phenomenon on the Internet.

Scammers have become smarter, some of them write articles and posts in other forums with phishing links and try to make them appear first in Google search. You should check the message and keep the public key, it is the only guarantee that your money will not be sent to scammers.

What Smartprofit said is the best way to avoid scamming by clicking on the participants signature links to navigate to the website and mix your coins safely. Because there are related websites out there created by scammers.

Yes, that's true, if someone wants to be safe from phishing links then that person should visit a mixer directly by clicking on the signature of the participants. And, another good way to be safe from those phishing sites is to go for examplens thread about genuine mixers.

Additionally, I imagine it's quite hard to send a bitcoin address from your laptop to your phone. Sure, QR codes exist, but how are you going to copy them into the app.

And how on earth are you going to do the reverse - sending the mixer address from your phone to your computer so that you can make a transaction. Unless your wallet is also on mobile of course (not recommended).
Sending a BTC address isn't too complicated, I can use apps like Telegram to get the exact address. I also store BTC personally on a wallet on a separate iPhone and I can totally send BTC to Coinomize Mixer through the mobile app but I didn't choose this method.

The web interface provides more information and I can manage multiple windows on a larger screen and check the BTC address multiple times when mixing BTC to avoid mistakes. Or simply, I'm more used to working with a PC so I chose to use the web version instead of "playing and tapping" on smartphone screen.

It is safer to be careful and see if the link is the same as the official link on the main thread or not.
I will probably keep the main link well in my notes as well as my Bitcoin address to make copying easier.

Or you can scan the Qr Code on my back ( optional ) ::)

Is that T-shirt from Coinomize.biz? Wow!!! Nice one. But scammers can produce things like this and when you scam it it will link to their site and if the design are similar then you won't know the official website so the best way to avoid all that is the signature from the participants. Because the signature is personally design by the company and scammers can change the code. Except the account is compromised.

I find it hard to believe that a scammer would design a QR code shirt to trick people even if they can hire some random people to wear that. Then again I guess being careful is not bad.

Do most people click signature links though? Personally, rarely do that because I remember the clearnet link for most services that I used, used a bookmark, or double check with other sources like social media and so on. Some users might disable signatures visibility too so they definitely don't think signature links are how they access new services. I guess that's not really Coinomize problem to solve since there's no way to force them to view our signatures.
