It make sense but I think there can be ways for them to track if the same owner is abusing his/her own referral link. They might have a way to do that but they're not going to disclose that so that the abusers will just get caught on surprise. But I am also curious on how they'd figure that out but if they will keep that to themselves, that's fine either.

No they don't have your data. Your unique referral code is what is tracked and abuse is possible
You can refer yourself but you will be making a loss.


Take for example Bitcoin is $100,000 and you mixing a Bitcoin
Fee is between 1%-5%(if I'm not mistaken) but let's pick 4% for the example  which is $4000 and you would be given 25% of the fee which is $1000
And if you mix for referral bonus. You loss $3000

Yes I agree with you on the subject of the anonymity of the referral program. You can withdraw immediately without any sort of issues as long as your balance is sufficient. In most cases you won't have any issues with it.

Even if the user were to use his referral link, I don't see that there is any spectacular fraud here. Such a user did not damage the Coinomize service, he only further reduced the percentage of what the mixing service will cost him. Coinomize remains on its guaranteed earnings because the same user could use a referral link from another user (then everything would be legal) and the result according to Coinomize would be the same.

It looks like some people are trying to cheat the program based on Coinomize's comment above. If the program discourages self-referral, as mentioned by some members above, and the cost to cheat is higher than mixing normally, what's the motivation for them to do that? I'd assume people who try to cheat a program like this are motivated by money, which sounds contradictory if they realize the cost is higher yet still attempt to do fraud. Are they simply unaware, or is there something else? Hard to imagine that the former is the case.

First off, it's really a shame when someone tries to game the system and cheat to save a few bucks on transaction fees with Coinomize. It's awesome that Coinomize is on top of it and can catch those kinds of shenanigans to keep things fair for everyone.

I'm super curious how Coinomize manages to spot those fraud and abuse cases. Since Coinomize doesn't keep user data, and the blockchain is all decentralized, figuring that stuff out must be a real challenge. Do you use onchain data to check if there's a link between the referrer and the referred addresses?

I guess only those that fail to follow up terms and conditions of any platform they use will fall to this punishment because am very certain that even as boldly written as it is they would be many that will still find a way to abuse the system since it's prior goal is privacy.
