Finally AS Roma was able to secure victory in the first leg, they managed to win narrowly 2-1 from Bilbao. Although they were behind first, they were able to turn things around so they could win.

They deserved this victory because in terms of play they were better than Bilbao. They managed to implement a good strategy and the players on the field were also able to execute it well.

Yes, at least they have a 2-1 aggregate for this first leg. And later this will be a high spirit for them to be able to survive and excel in the second leg which will be played in Bilbao stadium. I saw the highlight of Ajax's game and it looks like the game is quite even. Frankfurt has more chance to score if the stats are to be believed. Since AS Roma will play against Athletic Bilbao, I'm not sure AS Roma will have a chance for the next round. Athletic Bilbao is one of the strong teams in La Liga this season, meanwhile AS Roma looks weaker if we consider in the previous seasons. Considering the performance of these teams, no doubt I will favor Athletic Bilbao to qualify for the next round. I even think Athletic Bilbao may reach the final round, too.

Yes, that is a prediction that could very well happen in this match. But that does not mean that AS Roma has lost their chance to beat Bilbao.

Fenerbahce is one of the favorite teams to win Europa League. I also favor this team to be in the final round. So, not only you, I and many other people must be also surprised for the result. However, it is a football match, a weaker team sometimes can beat a stronger team if they can play solidly. I don't think that Roma is in a good place to advance into the next phase of the Europa League because the score line is slim and is only a goal so only one goal in the second leg can change the cause of the match and Bilbao is one team that is very impressive while playing at home even Barcelona and Madrid finds it difficult getting results against Bilbao at home, so ROma has a mountain to climb in the second leg that is going to come up
