Spurs getting a veteran guard as they signed a one-year deal ($11M) with CP3. Not a bad deal for both sides because the young Spurs team needed a seasoned floor general. I hope he plays and start more games and, honestly, I'm looking forward to what could change next season.
Looks like he doesn't care about the title at this part of his NBA career. What he wants is more playing time.
Now that the Spurs have a legit point guard, can we call the Spurs now the new "Lob City" like he how he throws lobs back when he's on the Clippers? :D

Him being with a young team like the Spurs will help them develop, but at the same time, he can throw lobs to Wembanyama. A legit PG is what they needed last season and now that they have one now, this increases the development of Wemby. The only problem that I see here is CP3 being injury prone. I'm not hoping for him to get injured for the whole season because I believe that he will get injured at some point, but at least he can help those young players develop with his presence.

Win-win situation indeed for both sides as i think the San Antonio Spurs needed a player like Chris Paul to guide the young guns especially Wemby. Though i think they will not be in the semi-finals or even in the playoffs but i think the Spurs will be competitive in every game if Chris Paul will be playing.

The Suns and Warriors were the last teams where Paul had the opportunity to win his first ring. And it's worth noting that he was very close to it with the Suns but was unlucky. I think he's already resigned that he can't win a title in his NBA career, as he's 38 years old now.

TBH, he can still win a ring despite him at 38 years old already. He only has a 1-year contract with the Spurs. If some championship team will sign him after that, he can still get it, but in order for that to happen, he must accept at least a veteran minimum contract, and accept fewer playing time since he's 39 at that time already.

His stint with the Warriors is for me the worst one because the whole team didn't get better with him compared to his past teams where they became stronger when he's on the team like New Orleans, LA Clippers, and even Phoenix. I hope he will not be included in the list of players who didn't win a single ring in their whole career.

Jason Kidd won his only championship ring at around the same age but he was with Dirk and their Mavs team was stacked during that time. CP3, on the other hand, do not have the same opportunity with the Spurs. Maybe if he had a team like Thunders last season.

It seems obvious that the Spurs are not the team that could help Paul get his first ring, and Paul probably understood that when he signed with them. Most likely, Paul just decided not to pass up the opportunity to play under Coach Pop. I think it will be a great experience for him, especially if he decides to become a coach after the end of his career in the NBA.

I know that he will not get it with the Spurs obviously because of how young the players. What I'm trying to say is that, after his contract with them, if he will go to a championship caliber team like for example the Bucks, or the Sixers, or the Nuggets and will accept a veteran minimum deal and a lower playing time then he has at least a chance of winning a title. We know that he will not get this year with the Spurs, and at the end of the day, this is just my prediction. I don't know if he really doesn't want to try to win a right after all.

Have anyone of you saw the friendly game between Serbia and Australia?

Serbia lost by 10 points to Australia and if i'm correct, all the players that will play in the Olympics were playing on that game. While USA beat Australia on the other day.

Does this mean that USA will be the favorite to win the gold this year's Olympics, your thoughts please.

Yes, USA is the big favorite to win the gold in this year's Olympic games mate, no question about it. The question is who is going to win the silver and then the bronze. It might not be easy for USA though as there are team Canada with a lot of NBA players as well and then France the home crowd and Serbia with Jokic, Australia or even Puerto Rico.

But I have my money in the USA team here, no way that Curry and Lebron will let this one slip away from them.

With their current line up, nobody would dare not put them as huge favorites to win the Olympics. They don't even have to beat anybody and the bookies will still put them on top ;D

I do agree that the other teams would only be fighting for the silver and bronze medal as the gold belongs to the US. They are so focused now that they don't want to slipped away from them.

There might still be hope for Chris Paul to win a ring before he finally quits the NBA or retire officially, If Al Horford could have just won his first ring just a few weeks ago despite playing in more NBA finals than any other NBA player without a ring. Realistically CP3 chances winning a ring with San Antonio Spurs is very highly slim, that's even if they're are to make it to the post season. His best shot was with the red hot Phoenix Suns back then, and had it not been for the Giannis led Bucks, CP3 sure would have had a ring to his NBA record right now.

It should be noted that Curry had an impressive performance in this game. During his 21 minutes on the court, he scored 24 points, 18 of them in the first half. Even though Sebria has Jokic, he obviously can't do anything against the USA team alone. Let's not talk about other teams that don't have a single NBA star on their roster. :-X

Al Horford is the best example of this one. He's been into the NBA Finals more than any other player and yet, he just won his first title a few weeks ago. That's what I'm also thinking about CP3. Him being on a team that's considered a championship contender team increases his chance of winning that title. Obviously, he will not get in San Antonio this season. I don't know the reason, but maybe he wants to develop Wemby even more and he believes that he will be a big help in his development hence, he signed with the team.

Just this morning PH time, i watched the highlights of the US vs Serbia friendly match where US blew out the Serbian by 26 big points. I do agree that the other teams would only be fighting for the silver and bronze medal as the gold belongs to the US. They are so focused now that they don't want to slipped away from them.

Like I said a days ago, basketball is a 5v5 game and not a 1v1.

Even if you have one of the MVP on the NBA if you're up against 5 all-star players then it's completely useless. That's why many already did their predictions that the US team will win on this upcoming Olympics yet again. Their roster consists of all-star players (excluding White I guess), and no other team in the country has better talent than what the US has.

Most of the teams though have NBA star in the roster here is the complete list,

However, it's pretty obvious that the USA team has the best NBA players in their Olympic team roster, like Curry and Lebron James and they are on point on winning another gold for team USA this Olympics. And if that happens, it will be their 5 consecutive gold medals.
