More often than not we relate gambling with negativity because of its implications like addiction and financial ruin but I want to take a different stand and draw attention to the fact that although gambling has negative connotations, there are positives that can be cropped from gambling.

Gambling has entertainment and educational value and these aspects are often neglected but this post will draw our attention to these benefits. In the area of entertainment, some gamblers engage in gambling for fun and entertainment, and when gambling is approached from this dimension it leads to satisfaction, happiness, and excitement. It is worth noting that individuals who see gambling as entertaining do not face the negative consequences of gambling since gambling itself is a source of happiness for them.

In the area of education, gambling can enhance one thinking especially gambling which requires a high level of rationality to win. In addition, engaging in sports betting specifically football betting can make someone know different countries and cities.

Reading this from the perspective that you could get entertainment and education outside of gambling, this sounds like trying too hard to justify someone's gambling habits. No offense.

While I can understand your point of view, the problem is that these positives could still come at a higher cost.

I don't think that there will be a positive side of gambling besides getting "entertained". This phrase is only for those who really gamble for fun — meaning those who are financially independent and don't think or care about winning. Because, at the end of the day, gamblers are always lost.

I still doubt about the education in other types of gambling, while I might agree with sports betting. Besides you will know how good or bad the improvement of each team or individual after or while in the game. It's always entertaining betting while watching the game til the end.

I agree with your thoughts OP. Of a truth there are some better sides of gambling too which people do not really see but for the fact that the negative sides shades the positive, it is assumed that gambling is a dirty game but it is quite different from the reality.

 This is the reason why gamblers are advised to gamble for fun and also with what you can afford to lose because  of the consequences of what is attached to gamble. When one gamble with funds they can afford to lose, they gamble with ease and for fun and have nothing to worry about because they know the ethics and principles of gambling but it is the reverse when one does contrary. They lose everything and become chronic gamblers with no control.
I have no doubt with the aspect of one becoming a good and rational thinker because as a gambler, you must be a good and logical thinker in other to play and win otherwise, you will  be at the losing side.

One positive side of gambling is that it relieves you from. You might be stressed up after a long day at work or after a long week work, you can gamble to ease yourself from that, because you will get yourself of much work burdens. Entertainment is what most people think that gamble serves as but there are more other benefits from gambling. With this in mind, why would any rationally-thinking person get involved in playing games where they have mathematical disadvantage and are on a path of losing long term?

If you approach gambling from a rational point of view, you'd be limited to sports betting (sniping for misplaced odds), poker (if we can call it gambling at all) or betting on the house (if such option exists).

Yes, gambling has a positive side, it is a place for entertainment. Many people gamble because they get fun from gambling games, they spend their spare time by playing fun games. Although it requires some money, it is no problem for some people. But I'm not sure about education part in gambling, but it may be about how to control our emotion and ambition. Let me deviate a little by asking a question, is it advisable to have s*x in front of children? Obviously it's not and that's why there are laws against underage s*x. But then, is s*x a bad action? The reason why most things are prevented from children is because children cannot handle the consequences that come with such an action. Relating this to the discourse, not minding the fact that the majority is languishing because of gambling, few find excitement in gambling and this group believe that there is a good in gambling.  No responsible parents/persons will gamble in front of kids as the bad overweight the good, underage kids shouldn't have anything to do with gambling.

Igebotz has touched a very nice topic of discussion. While majority see in gambling only addiction and negative context (and they cant explain why it is like that - its simply bad), it isnt only that. People have totally forgotten that gambling is also about entertainment. With it, watching any sports is more fun and emotional. Education can also be done through gambling. Simple math, adding simple numbers, like 6+7+Ace is 23. Or strategic thinking, if we play poker. Even though this is not really for kids, but it teaches how to read people, bluff, make traps.

Obviously there is nothing in this life that is totally wrong. What you see as being wrong in one condition could be totally right in another condition. For example it is bad to kill a fellow human being but during war you will think that it is morally right to kill hundreds of people. About the sex, it is not bad to have sex but when you have sex with your sibling it is now bad.
It is because of the above reasons that makes adults keep away this things from children. A child who sees where adults are having sex will not know whom to have sex with and they may likely have sex with their siblings. In like manner, a child who sees the parents gambling might not know how to handle it and will use their money to gamble. Both having sex and gambling is what they will eventually do but it is nice that we preserve them till they become adults to make their independent decisions, not only that but also to face the consequences of their decisions.

I don't think that it's the right thing to relate sexual intercourse with gambling. Both are different in their own way.

But I also believe that gambling is not entirely negative. The reason why some gamblers experience negative consequences is that they allow themselves to become addicted and do not control their emotions. It is the responsibility of each individual gambler to be accountable for their actions and not let their gambling habits take over their lives.

But with a different position we should focus our attention properly because there are many people who have become rich by profiting from gambling. Gambling is all about people getting rich and thinking it's fun. People only see the negative aspect of gambling and not from the positive aspects. Now if gambling is for fun then it has a positive aspect of it. I wouldn't want to dispute the negatives side of gambling but it's more than what people looks into, and again we all gambling as bad thing forgotten the good side of it. Aside from someone being an addicted gambler is there anything else?

Which I knows that the addiction level is brought shame and bad representation of gambling, in order words they finds those who are in these phase of life as an irresponsible people. Then another thing their again gaming is something that is very important as well, gaming is for fun and they are entertaining but we can also recall that it's gaming that draws the interest of gamble why because at the cause of gaming you pick interest to gamble.
