But we are living in a modern society now, and modern society has utilized gambling as entertainment, many organizations and institutions have promoted responsible gambling, so we now have responsible gamers, in the olden times this was not like this, and the gambling industry have created jobs, employment and sustain countries through taxation, I'm not glorifying gambling but gambling has a positive contribution to our society, people may look at it as a curse but many people and country have benefited from the money it's bringing to the government.
I agree with you. Gambling, as you mentioned, has benefited society positively. Gambling is not inherently bad in my opinion. Individuals make it appear bad because of how they gamble and the habits they develop while gambling. Some people, by nature, are desperate and see every opportunity to make money. Individuals like this gamble to make money, and this desire to make money is why many of them become addicted gamblers and thus engage in problem gambling.
However, even in the presence of such gamblers, gambling cannot be considered evil. For example, the fact that we occasionally hear about gas explosions does not imply that cooking with gas is bad. What matters is how people take precautions when cooking with gas. This is similar to gambling in that the gambler determines whether it is considered good or evil.
