Not just 70% but almost 99% because most internet users especially the ones who use mixers will only visit it if is updated on a top level or good TLD and they often ignore the domains of low quality.

The purchased domains can be used as mirror sites of the mixer or they may redirect the user to the original domain of the mixer.

+1 for you on this, that is the point,  so the most important thing is having all the easily penetrative access blocked and user should take caution on their own end, because mixers are most targeted buy big time scammers since if their have access and publicity it becomes easy to sway unsuspecting mixers users.

Although most big entities have those mirrors sites to prevent possible copyright breezes,  so having such in place will definitely be a big plus to thormixer.

I highly agree with you, it's quite good to block the scammers from owning those domain names so they won't be able to scam anyone. There's no doubt that mixers are way more targeted than other type of services and that's why a mixer owner or owner team should always have such preventive measures. Such measures will help a mixer to survive for long-term without any complaints.

We know that bookmarking the mixer site is not the ultimate solution, but it is one of the basic things anyone especially the newbies should do. Atleast first things first. It is better to be partially cautious than to be totally vulnerable. These scammers are not as sophisticated as we think, little precaution measures we take increases their work by X10.

As an example, there was a case of one user on this forum who accused another mixer of stealing over 10 BTC. But it looks like he just became a victim of phishing.

People have alot of money, reason they are not very careful handling some amount of money. If I have 10BTC that I earned legally to mix, before I'll send to a particular mixer, I'll ensure that i have cross checked everything and certify them to be true. I'll then proceed to mix $100 worth of it, if that works, I'll start the mixing but in 5 partitions.

80 percent is over exaggeration, I will bring that number down to 10 percent, or even lower, seems to me that some of us really don't know what 80 percent means in a situation like this, that is far more than half of all internet users, lets not be careless with our use of numbers in matters like this, except of course, there is trustable data to back it up.

And you are right with what you said, people can be really careless when they visit an entertainment website, or a blog or whatever site that doesnt have any thing to do with money, but most of internet users, I can say, do become concious of where they are entering when visiting sites that involves money matters.

Just tested the mixer.

- Website is pretty straightforward, I like the simplicity.
- I tested a mix with two addresses.
- The letter of guarantee was verified with the PGP key on the website (B8A5 CFCA F63F F2D8 384A 6B12 D3B2 8095 6F0E 7CAF).

In contrary to other mixers that have a bunch of js and animations, I kinda like how you generate a mix with its LoG and that's it. You get the deposit address and all othe information on that letter. Just send coins -> receive coins after a few hours.

I chose 2 outputs, each from a different exchange (Binance and BitGet). The amount sent was 0,0051 BTC.
I received ‎0,0013 + ‎0,0028246 = 0,0041246 BTC. After the fixed fee of 0.0007 BTC, I was charged around 5.4%
Both exchanges credited the deposits normally.

Both transactions were fee overpaid by 2x (according to mempool.space) at around 20 sat/vByte and were spent by a multisig 2-of-2 of around 0.9 - 1 BTC.

An AML check showed no risk indicators or known counterparties.

Yes that's true but sometimes minor mistakes are enough to ruin that savviness. Those who're technically good can also sometimes avoid smaller things and that's they get scammed by the malicious actors. I remember that 10 BTC guy and feel bad for him but sometimes you own holdings can get you victimized. Although he thought that he was doing everything in a right manner but in actual he was victim of phishing and nothing else.

Wait, I am not very sure about the incident you guys are talking about, is the one that happened where some dude was accusing unjoin of scamming him (honestly can no longer remember if it was 10 btc, but I know it's either 10 or above that) his complaint was all over unjoin thread at the time.

If that is the case you guys are talking about, then I honestly do not think that issue or incident ever happened, I suspect that dude possibly hired to blackmail the said mixer at the time since they seems to be really doing well before their closure. I say this because that dude never provided any evidence (at lease, I did not see or read any) to prove that his case was legit.

I don't know of the MEW phishing attack you are talking about, but bookmarking the official website of any service is a way to avoid phishing and the chances of landing into a cloned website. However, you have to also ensure that your device is used properly and free from malware, so it does not get compromised by attackers.

In any case, verifying the letter of guarantee and bookmark signing key in a safe place will greatly reduce the possibility of scam.
Without a letter of guarantee, the support team will not be able to help you or verify that you have deposited an address that belongs to the mixing service.

It's worth noting that that guy donated over 10 ETH and got monarch status on this forum. He probably did it to make his words(accusations) seem more convincing. Anyway, thormixer users should also be careful in terms of phishing, especially if it's already known that there are clone sites.

No, you aren't wrong, we were actually talking about that guy and as dwyane36 mentioned the guy got Monarch status by paying a huge value of 10 ETH only to prove that he's someone with enough money.

I don't know if it was resolved by the Unijoin team back then or not but as far as I remember then the issue was either solved or you maybe right the guy might be someone to defame the mixer at that time.

Still I would also say that Thormixer users should use Thromixer.io for mixing purposes then any other phishing URL so they can be safe from the scammers and frauds.
