Well, I just tried Thormixer, and I don't know what to write about it. The process is too simple, and it does not need a further explanation of how I did it. To be honest, I thought I would get some loading screen where I would be able to see my deposits and track the mixing progress. But nothing like that.

I used the Complete Anonymity mode and sent 0.004 Bitcoin to the generated address, and I downloaded the Letter of Guarantee file. Is there anything left to do? Could someone please help those who used Thormixer before? I guess I am free to close the tab now.

I have received my Bitcoin in two transactions (0.0014 + 0.001688 = 0.003088 BTC).
In my case, the fee was 0.0007 + 0.000212 = 0.000912 BTC. I received the Bitcoin from 2 of the 2 multi-sig wallets, and they have paid 20 sat/vb, which is more than the average fees now. Everything went so smoothly; it was the simplest mix I have ever made. I have used four or five mixers before, but this one is too simple compared to all of them. Also, I noticed the gap between those two transactions. It was about a three-hour gap, pretty good for privacy.

If you have downloaded the letter of guarantee, then you can close the page. In case of any stoppage, the letter of guarantee serves as proof of the started mixing process.

The letter of guarantee contains all the necessary information about the mixing process that you started. The download button is very clearly displayed on Thormixer and it is desirable to do this before sending Bitcoin.


In LoG, you have "Thormixer has generated the address:  _some_bitcoin_address_" And that address must be identical to the one indicated as a deposit (QR code also).

Great to hear your review and most importantly as you pointed pit in detail about the fees an time frame it take and how many deposits that it takes to get you mixed coins back to your wallet.

I will take the time to mix a few satoshi in the coming to test how thormixer works differently from other mixer that I used in the past.

Great to read your review bud, can't really wait to run my own test mix, my only problem seem to be the fee, but I guess thats not really a problem if..
1. The flat fee is fixed at 0.0007 btc..
2. The user is mixing a very large amount of bitcoins, like from 1 bitcoin and above.

And for me, I don't own that much bitcoin, but considering the fact that some of us are earning from advertising the platform on this forum, I guess the fee is really nothing.

And speaking of the time gap between the two transactions you made, didnt you set a delay time between the two? Some other mixers I've previously used usually had a delay timer feature, which helped to delay the time transactions are sent between the receiving wallets set by the user, and the timer works according to the users preference/setting, the user could choose 1 hour delay, 2 hours or even up to 12 hours between transactions.

Yes, I agree that when I used Thormixer I also noticed that it was quite easy to use this mixer. I've also used multiple mixers before it but I also found it pretty easy as compare to the other mixers that I used.

Three hours gap is quite good I believe but one should always set the gap to longer times if possible to increase the privacy of the coins. For simple testing 3 hours gap is more than enough I believe.

Or, what about users who can choose the time? I have used a mixer before where the user can pick the time frame between the transactions. But, I guess Thormixer wants to keep it simple and do not want to add anything complex.

Somebody has to automate AMLbot, put it on a website, and make it accept more coins besides Tether in exchange for scanning your entire wallet (read only). Although that would be a massive privacy violation if the data was not end-to-end encrypted somehow and even then I don't think that would be enough.

Anyway, I wanted to say that low AML score is Jambler's promise, so it should not be surprising to see this on their partner mixers.

The three hours gap I believe was simply for testing purposes, not that he really wanted to mix the coin he did mixed, I would agree that three hours gap is definitely too short, though it depends on how many transactions is processed on the bitcoin blockchain hourly.
Let's say if like 1 million or more transactions are processed on the bitcoin network hourly, then setting a three hours gap between transaction is definitely and surely good enough for what ever level of privacy one needs.

But assuming that there are just a few hundred to a thousand transactions that is process on the network, then giving a three hour gap between transactions is surely not really good enough; privacy minded though.

Hours do not really matter, it's the number of blocks you are spacing them apart in. Obviously you wouldn't want to receive the two transactions in the same block, or even in the next block. The whole idea is to create a "buffer" so that chain analysis doesn't think the two transactions are related.

Yeah. For better privacy, users should use at least two addresses, and both of them just a fresh wallet that was never used before. I checked that the two transactions did not come from the same wallet (If I am not wrong). The gap between the two transactions was over ten blocks which is good enough. I believe it's almost impossible to connect these wallets and track the money because those are fresh wallets and not connected to each other by any way, Not in the same block, not received from the same wallet, nothing. So, I guess it's good enough.

As said above, the point is not the time interval option. The main thing is to get a result that satisfies the customer. The means by which this result is achieved is a personal matter for the individual mixer. In any case, to be competitive on the market, the AML after using the mixer should be as low as possible.
