Who's going to watch today's AFCON finals between Nigeria and ivory coast?

This should be a rhetorical question because all Super Eagles fans will watch this game and right now all of us are watching the match and Ivory Coast is oppressing Nigeria very well. Since when the match begins the ball has not left the area of Nigeria goal post.

Ivory Coast deserves to be the Champion of AFCON this year, and they tried very hard to achieve it. Nigeria messed up by not taking the match serious and they allowed Ivory Coast to take full control of the match, giving them 5o good opportunity for a welcome back in the second half. I was thinking that the match will end up in a penalty kick, but when I saw how lazy and sluggish Nigeria players are, I knew it that the match will end up in a clean win in favor of the host.

Lolz. If Nigeria would win the cup, you would have said, Nigeria deserve it. As for me every team was desire to win but not every team have the lucky to win. But Nigeria was having the lucky to play the final and Ivory Coast was having the lucky to win. One thing I discovered in football is just lucky. A team can play well from the beginning and still loss out from the game. Nigeria was having the opportunity bto win the cup but their were not sensitive enough to do that. They would have defended their goal but their edger to score another one while they know that the opposition team was oppressing them very well. That was the best way to win the game but the coach too didn't tell to defend the goal. So finally they loss out. And the only two players that pity most were the captain and the keeper. These two players really tried for their best.

I expected the match to be this very much contending for by both teams but it seems the super eagles weren't really ready for the trophy this year because their approach to the match was very lackadaisical and has no driving force for victory.

We were awful and deserved nothing from that game; it was an unstable journey for them, from almost being knocked out of the group stage to winning the trophy; I can't say they became a better team after that sack because they were never a bad team; they were simply unlucky not to get the results they deserved. It has been a long time since a host country won the trophy.

As for the Ivory Coast from the onset played well more than Nigeria team. And in the final Nigeria would have defended the goal they scored at first. But they were not reasonable enough to think that way and all they wanted was to score another goal and when they knew that they were oppressed at the beginning of the match ant the their opposition team was tactically good. They trophy was really meant for ivory Coast and that was why they won it if not Nigeria was having the opportunity to win the game by defending the goal by all means but they using free style game and finally they were knocked out.

As for the Ivory Coast from the onset played well more than Nigeria team. And in the final Nigeria would have defended the goal they scored at first. But they were not reasonable enough to think that way and all they wanted was to score another goal and when they knew that they were oppressed at the beginning of the match ant the their opposition team was tactically good.

I believe it was the other way around; prior to Nigeria's goal, they were playing deep and taking the Ivory Coast on a counter-attack, which wasn't too bad, but it got worse after we took the lead because we went into full defensive mode, allowing the Ivory Coast to press on a high line defence formation, breaking in between spaces. We sat back and let them do the attacking for the entirety of the second half. You can't give a side too many chances to score and not expect to concede. Our approach to the game was wrong, and it hunted us.

The super eagles were just not to proactive in the game. They were reluctant in pressing forward but rather was on the defensive which allowed their opponent pressed them to much but I am some how blaming the coach for not making good use of the players. It was almost end of the match when he started making some vital changes. Aside that if The super eagles had given that match a full force approach, they could have won by retaining their position as the lead by 1 goal or could have scored more goals. They had the opportunity of winning but they did not utilised it properly. Although their opponents too came prepared but looking at the both teams, super eagles would have done better because of the players involved in the game.

Those players are all international stars and well recognised at their various clubs which means they are well developed for any game and this is not their first time going for AFCON. They already have the experience of matches and likewise international matches as well so why would they not do well in this just concluded AFCON. A game of football one team must play bad for the other team to win and having 1 bad game does not mean that the team is bad it's just what it is.

I'm not blaming them for the defeat; I'm just upset because I didn't see any fight from them. I mean, it was a fuckin final game, and if you have to lose, at least do it with pride. Playing like that and losing the manner they did raises too many doubts in our minds. What is even more stupid? We only had one bad game during the tournament, and that was in the final. Lol
