To me the most painful part is when applying for a job and they are looking for individuals with 5-10 years work experience me wey just dey graduate.
Nowadays looking for a white-collar job is difficult but having a skill or craft can also be helpful to provide for yourself, being an entrepreneur even do it is hard and expensive especially looking for  capital to start business is better than someone just waiting for or looking for job employment

The rate of unemployment in Nigeria is becoming an alarming situation because it doesn't even get better with time instead things are getting worse. Youths are now turning to internet fraud and other illegal activities to survive. The most annoying part of everything is these bad leaders that are putting this country in bondage still pay youths to carry out their evil propaganda during election campaigns, this tells you that the government of Nigeria are doing everything on purpose

I am literally done talking about the situation of the country, because every possible solution that we all think of as individuals, will have no effect or correct the already failed system. I guess the problem of the country had begun, even before I was born, but it turns out to be getting worse on a daily basis. We've lost our kobo, 5naira, 10naira, and 20naira to persistent inflation, as we can't even see those currencies physically again. We've been readjusting as citizens inorder to manage the situation for ourselves. Of course, there are solutions to these problems, but the problems are caused by those who oversee the affairs of the nation and make decisions on our behalf, so we might be a long way away from experiencing some positive changes.

A white-collar job is not a job you should depend on, the government have made it very difficult to get one even though you’re qualified for one. You will not get it that easily, that’s if they don’t even tell you that you’re ineligible for the work or no work available for you. It’s very disheartening how one will go to school, spent time, energy and still not get what they anticipate for in the end.

With all the strikes you go through in school and make you spend extra year in school, they’ll now be asking for a certain age as minimum before you can get a job, that’s bad and that’s what pains me the most when I see requirements needed for a government work. It is better one should focus and put most of their energies into some handwork skills, those stay longer and forever in you and does not mean you cannot be complimenting them with a government work if one eventually comes.

Unemployment remains a significant challenge facing Nigeria with a steadily increasing rate over the years This country's economy has struggled to create jobs, leading to a growing number of Nigerians without employment.

The causes of unemployment in Nigeria are complex and mostly economic based. The economy's over-reliance on oil exports has actually made the government unable to consider other sectors while inadequate education and skills training have left many Nigerians unprepared and actually without jobs. Corruption and poor governance have also contributed to the issue, as has the country's infrastructure and economy depreciate and insecurity in some regions.

This is why some universities provide skill acquisition programs because they know that what you learn in class isn't enough especially with the way things are going right now in the country. Someone who studied chemical or petroleum engineering can't easily get a job in an oil company without connection, and about that 5 to 10 years criteria they told you is just a format to push people away, that's a strategy that companies are now using

Back in the days when education system was still okay student could go to school graduates with good results and still have an additional skill but nowadays it’s not effective.

Imagine a student being taught “tailoring or hairdressing” when they are in a faculty or department that offers cubbersome courses - they won’t have that time to start going for additional lessons when they are at the risk of failing but in the past the system was structured well to fit into place.

According to a quote I heard “study agriculture for Nigeria, with connection you fit still work as bank manager” - and that’s just the simple truth, there are people that have graduated and still haven’t been able to secure a work space for themselves and yet there are people who are still in school and their parents have already secured their work position for them due to their strong connection. Nigeria is a one big horror film. TBH.

You are right, instead of talking about the problems everytime we should talk about the solutions to the problems instead, but the problems the nation is facing cannot be solved without the collective efforts of the leaders and citizens, we all have a role to play in building the nation. But the main problem is the economic set backs, which includes inflation and so on. Like you said the problems are caused by those who oversee the country so there's nothing we as citizens can do about it. Instead of waiting for things to get better of which might not even happen just create an opportunity for yourself, the unemployment issue would always be experienced in this country so instead of complaining about it and relying on the government find something to do that can give you money .

Brilliant solution from you. You've literally said it all. Instead of making complaints about the government and the failed system, finding ways to create job opportunities and source of income for ourselves should be the way forward. This idea is already a solution on our part, that will at least reduce too many fingers pointing to the government. Even though we don't in any way support the incompetence of the government, but this solution is literally for our own benefits. The failure of the government shouldn't be an excuse. So many of us in this country deserves to live a very good life, and we should try as much as possible to work for it.

+1 by the way.

No be small, unemployment is like bazooka gun. Just bombing tirelessly.
Even this over reliance on liquid black gold, just go many or all oil regions and see the poverty. Collect lands and leave commotion with suffering.
To say, over reliance on crude oil no good but the revenue from oil how them dey use am self.

That's a very good question there bud, the revenue from oil, how is the government of Nigeria using that money?
Living in Nigeria became harder from one government to another, we have a lot of graduates who are jobless, several of them are on the road doing Keke work, some na Okada riders, while some others are drivers, either public or private and collect peanuts as a salary.

What I really will love to mention here is that, the Nigeria youth should learn to no longer depend solely on the government for job after school, students should learn to be their own boss either by running their own business, or by simply learning a good skill which is capable of generating good money in the future, this is the only way young people can escape poverty here.

You are right, the Nigerian government has pretty much failed us however on thing we could do is to make sure we aren't just sitting our selves by the corner complaining about the government. Instead we should rather search for alternatives like self employment opportunities to empower ourselves even if the government has failed us. The Nigerian economy is really declining with inflation taking the better of it. In fact fixing the Nigerian economy should be a potential move the government should be working towards.

I think it's high time we explored other sectors that can potentially assist in the growth of our economy rather than sole dependence on oil Only. Another problem is a majority of people are too fixated on the Idea of getting a white collar job and that too has to be fixed.

Unemployment rate is no longer a joke we are having different schools having different graduates in different courses but no job for them and one thing wey dey funny me is the fact that even the places where jobs are available will always asked for someone with more than a year experience
If every single employer out there is looking for an experienced person how will the new graduates niw have the opportunity to get this experience
I really pray it changes for the better sooner or later because at this rate there will also be an increase in criminal activities
Man most survive
