fact is that the leaders are intentional about some of the things they do and the issue of unemployment is one of them because our leaders know that if they carry out their responsibilities of creating job's and equip the youths with the necessary skills which will be helpful to them there will be no political tug that they will use in snatching ballot boxes and those who will be singing their praises.
Well partially, intentional is quite right but based on a direct description I'll always prefer to call it the actual issue of not caring about what actually happens. The whole scenario is more like the government is paying a blind eye to both the economy and the state of citizens  making things worse by making inflation hit the economy harder than normal.

The problem is things that don't affect the leaders directly are the most things they pay less attention to. Take for example the price of fuel (petrol.....etc) being on a high side for a very long time now and still no good move made by the government simply because it doesn't hit them hard directly like the average citizen.

uemployment is a major challenges in our country nigeria, sometimes i ask myself is education not longer recognise in this country, because so many graduates which am seeing from 2005 till date no better job,the only job so many of them are doing is teaching in private schools where the money paid to them is just a little stipense, majority of the youths engaging in high way robbery, kidnapping, fraudsters are graduates, lack of employment turns them so due to fustrations, the government should do something about it if not they can't stop the misconduct in the country.

As you noted, the majority of crime committed by youths is motivated by frustration, and when these youths are frustrated, they will seek alternative means of survival, which are usually illegal because fate has been lost in legal activities.

These have always favored such people, and it now appears that those who are still hopeful are foolish, because the government will be much quicker to settle those who are causing problems for the country than those who are following the law.

Sadly, criminals are living better and enjoying government presence than law abiding citizens. The government should not always wait for citizens to revolt before recognizing the need to provide job opportunities for them.

Sadly enough, this is the situation we found ourselves in this country. In the words of a Nigerian singer and songwriter African China he said " Poorman wey thief magi dem go show him face for crime fighter, rich man wey thief we no go see their faces for crime fighter"  that is what is happening in Nigeria.
With respect to this topic, the hardship in the country has frustrated many people into what is not convenient for them to do but they have no option to do it just to survive the situation in the country. Many illegal activities ongoing as a result of the fact that there are no jobs, the few jobs available have been hoarded by the power that be for their children, friends etc. this is the situation and funny enough, some institution that could have employed the youths have been short down  by the government for no just reason. When all these are happening, the youths would have no option than to sort themselves out for survival. All this leads to crime in the society which the government knows very well.

I will advise that the youths should not wait for government jobs before they could find something doing. Learning skills could help, starting up a business venture that could render services is something. Atleast being self employed could help one be free from idleness and waiting for government jobs which they are not even sure of.

When all these are happening, the youths would have no option than to sort themselves out for survival. All this leads to crime in the society which the government knows very well.

The hardships we face in this country are not for the rich. The unemployment we complain about does not affect the rich. All of these are felt only by the poor. The children of the rich are immediately employed after graduating from university. There are numerous secret employments in this country that only benefit the wealthy, which is why the children of the wealthy are always appointed to lucrative positions in ministries and parastatals.

I will advise that the youths should not wait for government jobs before they could find something doing. Learning skills could help, starting up a business venture that could render services is something. Atleast being self employed could help one be free from idleness and waiting for government jobs which they are not even sure of.

I subscribe to this. A person who is engaged will not consider participating in crime. There are numerous things a young person can do to survive that do not involve criminal activity. Most young people struggle to see the opportunities around them because they have not used their mental faculties to create something worthwhile for themselves, which is caused by their over-reliance on the government.

In most of the underdeveloped countries, unemployment is a serious and challenging issues faced by the teaming youths, because they finds it difficult to secure having a job to do after being a graduate or lack patronage to their handwork which they practice due to insufficient aid needed to help them have a good start of their business, we can't assume the whole responsibility of this on the governemnt, but there are times things may be needed for by the help of our government at first attempt, let everyone be independent, work and add value to themselves and the economy either by being employed or self employed.

I understand what you're saying about underdeveloped countries having limited job opportunities especially in the areas of job creation but Nigeria is one country that has a lot of potential and opportunities that nature has given to us so there is no way that you will use Nigeria a nation blessed with minerals and human resources to create the right environment by creating an environment where our young population will be gaining employed so that they can become a reasonable members of society contributing their quatre to national development

We should not wait for our country to provide for us, instead we should be more responsible for providing for ourselves as well as our dependents, we don't have to keep on wasting time with the hope that it will be better, instead, one has to take some bold step in starting from somewhere what he can afford doing on his own to make him independent of the government in terms of economic sustainability, by so doing, we can also be an employer of men into the economic workforce or labour market.

If we do not persuade our government to carry out its primary responsibilities, then only the elite few will benefit from our abundant resources. I believe that any country that is enjoying government presence today once suffered and fought to correct the evils of the government.  A people who remain silent are not prepared to enjoy the wind of change, and they will continue to suffer.

The truth is that we as a people must revolt against certain evils in our country. When people do not criticize the government for their mistakes, it remains at peace. What happens to our children if we choose to ignore the government and seek our own means of survival? What about the image of our country? I think If we seek means to survive on our own as you mentioned we should also speak up against government wrong doings.

We don't have to rely solely on government, because I don't think government is ready to take any action against the issue of unemployment in the country. We need to be responsible and work very hard to sustain the economic and our lives. Education is seen as devalued in the eyes of the people, and they view it as a waste of time, energy, and money. This is because, in the end, someone may not get the desired outcome or reward despite years of studying tirelessly and years of hard work. Government has to create job opportunities for the people to reduce the rate of illegal activities that have a negative or bad influence in the country.

The government will not change unless we change the process of electing people to leadership. All election processes in Nigeria are flawed. Well, I believe that in Nigeria, we select rather than elect. The term election is used to deceive the international community, but we are all aware that there are numerous flaws with what we call an election.

Imagine a country where INEC rigs elections for a candidate, a country where Lady Justice's eyes are open to accept bribes in order to deliver injustice as judgment, and a country where LGA chairmen and councillors are imposed on the people only to share money that should be used for development with their godfathers. These scenarios explain why the government finds it difficult to create opportunities for citizens.

Sometimes I just wonder how things got this worse in our country. I  ask myself questions as to which of the system of government benefits the Nigerian citizens at most, we claim we are in the democratic system of government but now it seems as if the military government back then is now very much better than the civilian/democratic system of government.  Things getting worse than they used to be ever since the inception of democracy, corruption is everywhere, crime rate is on the rise as a result of the hardship in society.

Have a look at Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traore has transformed the country in just 2 years of his regime and the citizens are very happy and want him to extend his tenure, he slashed the salaries of political heads and appointees even the parliamentarians as well for the civil servants in his country. He has completed the tomato factory creating more employment, the gold mining factory is currently ongoing if I am not mistaken and all these are done under a military government compared to civilian rule. But here in our country, the reverse is always the case, institutions and organizations that should be creating employment are closed, instead, taxation is their major focus and means of frustrating the youths so they could use them whenever an election is near.

You've said it all, the situation of the country is getting worst day by day due to poor electoral system. Welcome to Nigeria, a country where money rule living the poor uncared for, and neglecting them. As we are now, INJUSTICE is another name for Nigeria. The poors serve as a ladder, for some certain individual to climb and reach the power, so that they can represent us as our leaders, but at the end of the day they disappoint us. The poors will suffer and vote for their preferable person, but the electoral system will rigs the election and select their choice to represent us as the leaders.

Corruption and bribery as takeover Nigeria. But I also blame some poors who sold their rights for money, just because of the peanut that someone candidate offers them during campaign, they will choose to vote for the person even if they don't want that person to represent them, forgetting about how they are going to survive the rest of the the years. If Nigerians can collaborate, unite and come together as a group we will be able to achieve our goals. But people have different colors, and selfishness and greediness will not allow us to collaborate and make the right choice in choosing the right leaders. As the numbers of graduate increases the rate of Unemployment also increased, honesty the problems of this country is getting out of hand.

The leaders only want poor people around so that when they call for political rallies and party meetings, they can attract those vulnerable.

Take a look at the people who attend political rallies; the vast majority are poor people who have been mobilized with peanuts to make the candidate appear popular.

This is the only point I think that people are needed in the electioneering process.
