In the end Scotland had to suffer defeat by Hungary. And it turns out that Switzerland was also able to hold Germany to a draw. Yes, this is something unexpected, but this is how football is always full of surprises.

I definitely felt dissapointed with the tie Germany got, I expected them to get the win. Obviously, they finished the group stages as first, so they are not really caring about the result, however we need to be a bit more careful when betting. Sorry that you lost your bet. It's not always wise to bet a win on a team that has already qualified for the next stage of the competition because they've nothing to lose. Matches are being played every four days or there about and the manager might decide to rest some important players so that they don't suffer from fatigue. For me, in such games, the safest option is the goal market.

Supersub, Niclas Füllkrug is a great finisher, 4 goals as a substitute at major tournaments, and I think he needs to be in the starting lineup

To be honest, Italy disappointed me a lot, its not a game. In fact, I decided to support my second favorite team in case Italy leaves the competition early, which is very very likely, among others: Spain.

Italy as the current title holders haven't done exceptionally well to be honest, and might have underperformed so far in this tournament, but I think Croatia, alongside Scotland and Poland should be the team that have flopped the most in the Euro 2024 so far, Poland already got eliminated after just 2 group stage matches, while Croatia's defeat at the hand of Spain could be understandable, but failure to beat Albania is an extreme low them.

Italy are going to be without Dimarco tonight, we'll see if Croatia can make anything of the weak Italian side, or they'll just continue their underperforming trend tonight as well.

All it takes them is just to catch their opponent on break with a counterattack, create and they make the most out of those chances.

There has been a complete change in fortune in this match, Croatia took the lead already and it was not just as easy mere taking the lead as there was a huge amount of drama surrounding the goal, with Luka Modric missing a penalty, and only for fortune to smile upon him once again, as he able to get another chance from an even better distance just a moment after the spot kick miss.

That's football for you, it's never over until the final whistle. The last minute goal from Zaccagni was very devastating, the Croatians thought they've already sealed a ticket to the next round of the competition, only for Italy to score in the last minute to restore parity. This is the first time in recent years they're being knocked out in the group stage in major tournament. It's really painful, but to be honest, Croatia didn't perform very well and they need to go back to the drawing board.

For the match to end in a draw match, Italy has automatically qualified for the round of 16. I am happy for them to score the late minutes that had them qualify from Group B, following Spain

Is anyone familiar with the detailed qualification rules for the four best third-placed teams?
What happens if two, or more, teams have an equal number of points and identical goal difference? Is there going to be a draw, or are other metrics to be considered, i.e. more goals scored etc?

Btw, it's a pretty neat system, when every team has at least theoretical chances of qualifying up until the final round.
