Germany does look like a great candidate to win the tournament, but so does Spain in my opinion, I think I'd rate Spain even much better than Germany currently.

Both Spain and Germany would be facing each other in the Quarter finals, maybe it's actually safer to presume that whichever team wins the match would go all the way to win the trophy, however, it's easier said than done.

This is actually the first Euro season that is becoming very difficult to predict the best candidate that would win the trophy, though almost all the countries seem to be very weak in performance compare to there other seasons however considering all there overall performances I think France has the best performance because if you watch there matches you will see the difference between them and every other countries.

You have to feel sorry for Slovenia. They defended themselves really well, and it looked like that penalty saved by Oblak would give them a massive psychological advantage, but nope, they got outclassed in the shootout.
I'm glad Christiano Ronaldo managed to redeem himself. It's probably his last international tournament, so if they were to drop off because of that missed penalty, that would be devastating for him.

England is the favourite, but that's largely due to them having Switzerland as the opponent in the quarter-final, which is considered one of the weakest team in the bunch.

Switzerland, Germany and Spain are the three teams that have made the match in the last 16 really theirs quite well and it doesn't look that difficult. But for England, France and Portugal it looks like they got through from the round of 16 to the quarter-finals the really hard way. And the Portugal match looks to be a match that actually looks very tense. I really appreciated Slovenia's defense which was really tight and flawless until the end. Portugal they kept trying to penetrate but yeah it was quite difficult with the quite disciplined defense shown by Slovenia. I think Portugal lacked the courage to make long breakthrough passes. They play too many short passes. And short passes will definitely be difficult to implement if the opponent also closes their defense line. So Portugal can only keep trying and failing.

A very rare moment from Ronaldo also occurred in this match. Where the penalty kick could be read well by the Slovenian goalkeeper. And another moment was that Pepe also made a mistake at the back which made the Slovenian player come face to face with Diego Costa. Luckily Diego Costa managed to stop it. Pepe made a mistake because he must have been tired because after all he is not young anymore and he played the full game there. In fact, I still want to praise Cristiano Ronaldo's stamina for being able to survive until the match ended. That's very difficult for a player who is almost 40 years old and ran the field in 120 minutes. So it is quite natural that he failed to take advantage of the penalty in that match. Because I'm sure his energy has almost been exhausted. So the shot wasn't as strong as usual.

The France vs Portugal match will definitely be a match that is as fierce as the Germany vs Spain match. And it is difficult to determine which will be superior between France and Portugal. This year Euro will still take a whole of twist and turns if you ask me, Spain for sure look like the best team out there, they play the most beautiful football than any other team in the competition right now, and it can't be said that they've not faced tough opponents, they have only made it look rather easy against these opponents, and I was curious to see how they'll respond if they had concede the first goal in a game, but that happened against Georgia and still the maintained their composure and game plan which all turned out to be effective for them, meanwhile they also have a very young talent players who still have a great deal of time ahead of them and are doing fantastic, Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams, just to mention the most obvious ones.

The teams that I will favorite for today's match in the round of 16 are the Netherlands and Türkiye.

Every time I see Türkiye play, they are always the underdog but I enjoy how they approached the game. They have nothing to lose that's why they are all out and that's what makes them fun to watch.

Netherlands are are lucky to qualify because it's EURO rules but they are actually good. They just fail on games that really matters

It's not strange to me that the English behave like the English, it's probably a remnant of their colonial philosophy that the world should look the way they imagine it. They are one of the worst teams in this competition, and they go further only because of pure luck and nothing more. When they run into a worthy opponent, they will not have a good time.

As for the match between Austria and Turkey, it seems to me that this could be a match with a lot of goals considering how both teams are playing. Yes, the media are strange, they say strange things but it doesnt make much sense to put ratings that can be the ruin of bookmakers. Nobody is a nationalist when faced with money.I dont understand, in my opinion they judge other components that they consider important for victory.
