Historic day for all Filipinos as our very own Carlos Yulo won a gold medal in gymnastics. Philippines is not known to produce gymnastics though, but it's totally different because of Carlos Yulo's performance.

So this is the first gold for the Philippines in this year's Olympics, and just second overall in the history that it is competing in the Olympics. We still have some boxers and pole vaulter to compete for medals.

France kicked out Argentina and they are facing Egypt in play-offs.
Host nation is big favorite but Egypt played amazing during this tournament winning against Spain and Paraguay.
Spain is playing against Morocco in second play-off match and bookies are giving very high odds on Spain, I think we are going to see many goals in this match.

Excellent surprise for Latin America, the Mexicans beating the silver medal in the three-meter synchronized diving, the first medal in that sport in the history of Mexico.

In those "sports" that I like to watch every four years, some are actually curious, trap shooting, mh! yeah, they are sports, anyway, in any case it allowed Guatemala to win the first medal for a woman in its history.

On the side of the bets, which I am not doing many for the games, I am in spectator mode, I can watch sports without having money involved, I made a bet on France(0) vs. Brazil (1) women's soccer, and France with the best odds lost. (+@2 vs. +@5)

I'm reading some complaints of harassment on some players particularly those elites from Chinese national team. Some people are even accusing them of doping because of how good they are. I'm not gonna lie, the diving competition that I've seen were like flawless (no splash).

People will always complain for doping usage or cheating when one athletes dominate over other athletes. Those who accuse Chinese national team for using doping in diving are just idiots. How can doping even help in this discipline? Allow them to make a better jump? Or make water if they splash disappear? That is the sport where technique matters, not strength or dexterity advantage. I doubt that doping can improve flexibility or help to get out of the pool and make another dive during training.

Just wow, I never thought that Djokovic will beat Alcaraz because it was reported that he is injured. And yet another great win by the Serbs, first first Olympic Gold medal and so I think he just surpasses Nadal and Federer as the GOAT of tennis. It was not easy though, probably Djokovic's last hurrah in the Olympics, so it was a fitting end for him as he will be in his 40's the next Olympics so I doubt that he can still compete. Although he might but not assured of a medal. And with that, he completed a career grand slam.

Man, seeing Alcaraz crying, unable to contain his emotion, is incredible how these players show their human side in these Olympic games, if you have the opportunity to see the game do it.

Djokovic: ( sos un crack ) you make young people interested in tennis, a sport "attacked" by the thousands of padel courts....

France has given a lot of fantastic performances in this Olympics hosted by them. Seeing them win Argentina 1-0 is fantastic, as they will advance to the next round(semifinals) to face Egypt by tomorrow.

I don't know whether the home advantage will be on their side against Egypt this time. Who knows whether they will win not lose as their women's had lost to Brazil 1-0 in the quarter

And another history made by him winning in the men's vault Finals. He is now the first and only Filipino to win two golds in one Olympics. What a story this young man have after becoming a celebrity when he became World Champion and then bashed heavily after failing in the Tokyo (2020).

I was actually stoked when I read on the news that he will recieve like more or less $173k plus a new condo unit and more from that gold winning that was freaking awesome! Though I was not a fan of his sport but that was really a life changing win.

Let me congratulate Carlos Yulo in this thread as well hehe. Amazing job indeed of winning two gold medal in a span of just 24 hours. I think this will only be the gold medals for the Philippines as EJ Obiena failed to capture the gold in the long jump competition. Again, congrats to Carlos Yulo.

We still have two boxers that is at least assured of a bronze medal. Unfortunately, it's the women's boxing that has carrried us in this Olympics. But yeah, we can't deny what Yulo is for the Philippines winning 2 gold medals in a single Olympics.

And there are a lot of incentives waiting for him when he goes back to the country.

I've seen a lot of content already, Filipinos  gearing for gymnastics, lol.

Germany already defeated Greece and so they will advance and waiting for the winner between France and Canada, most likely Canada will win, in my opinion.

The thing is that all things that have to do with drugs will never be well Accepted , Doping is a very delicate subject , Sometimes it affects performance, other times it helps the athlete to have an advantage over others and that is what we want to avoid, any kind of advantage is not well seen from the point of view that it is the most legal and equal, that has been proven over the years.

The fight against drugs has to be something very Relevant in the world , and in Sports it should not be allowed, despite the fact that drugs are a determining Factor for each medication.

When you only see one side, you can't do anything, but you are totally ignorant on the subject. Drugs improve sports performance, and that goes beyond things like improving muscle recovery and being in better recovery shape on a daily basis.

Athletes, regardless of the discipline, need these days of recovery, so the use of these drugs makes athletes improve their performance regardless of the discipline.
