It's simply the way to promote their won CBDC's against a country that they think they can control or probably building some animosity against the West as well, so good strategy for China but probably bad for Kazakhs for now as they can be under the subtle "slavery" rule by the Chinese just like what they are doing in Africa right now. Perhaps the Kazakhs might think that this is good for them, to have China behind their back. But who knows, for me Chinese shouldn't be trusted specially if it is has something to do with the economics of your country.

This has nothing to do with 'slavery', or anything like that. China and Kazakhstan have been partners in bilateral/international trade for a very long time now, with their trading volume rising to as high as $41b in 2023. I don't exactly know what the true motive is behind the proposal to use cbdc in settling some of these trades, but take note that their partnership didn't start 'today'.

I am sorry to say but people in China already bought all that crap about safety, without thinking much about the consequences.

I have a Chinese friend who relatively recently left China (like a year ago) and still baffles me how things that we see as an attack on our privacy and freedom he sees as something good and that will keep him safer. And its one of the main complains he has about living here in Europe.

Funny thing, he does own Bitcoin and keeps it on the exchange as he thinks its safer there despite me pleading to move it on his own wallet.
