For the next few years, Ethereum is still strong and seems irreplaceable. I do agree that Ethereum is still standing tall at the moment and in the volatile environment that is Crypto, you can never really say anything is completely shielded from potential threats. Although Ethereum engineers have come up with some improvements, there are many other teams who are working on the new technologies that might threaten Ethereum’s market some day. However, if Ethereum does not move swiftly to address the problem of scalability or a faster way of addressing the costs of transactions, it is quite easy for competitors to Join the market. It does not mean that Ethereum will fail, but it is important to know that competition is high and only service which adapts to the market will survive.

Maybe I am also still part of those who believe that ETH will still be able to make its ATH again and has a high chance of progress in the future. Although honestly, indeed, if we look at how the project is developing, hmm, it is not like other top projects that have quite visible and significant developments, and current usage is much higher.

It's just that, my trust in Bitcoin is still because of the community and investors who are still so many for Ethereum, although on the other hand, this also happens because one of the ETH supplies is unlimited. and this actually also becomes one of ETH's shortcomings where its value is increasingly questionable because of the unlimited supply. Well, let's just keep monitoring the development of the project and also the price, even if it turns out to fail to reach ATH again for this season's alt season, I would rather still take advantage by selling it at a fairly good price in the future.

Ethereum's capitalization is still the highest among many top altcoins, and according to CMC, Ethereum's market cap is currently 2 times that of XRP, so I think it's still a long way for XRP to surpass Ethereum. But anything can happen in the crypto world, if something good happens, XRP might approach ETH. But it doesn't seem like it will happen anytime soon.

Eth has built its position with its smart contract initiative and EF's efforts over the years; it's not simply a blockchain copying BTC's ideas or other POW blockchains in the market. If Xrp wants to dethrone Eth, it needs a new idea, a new vision, not just a convenient global money transfer network.

Even though Eth is facing many difficulties, many other L1s in the market are still lagging behind in TVL, liquidity, and ecosystem value. As soon as Eth recovers thanks to internal reforms at EF and the Pectra upgrade, investors will FOMO into ETH again and no longer think about Eth's minor issues.

For XRP to overtake Etheruem is just a matter little time, as you can see, over the past eight months, Etheruem has failed to perform, and till this moment, Ether token has not shown any significant movements even when Bitcoin pumping with with records All Time High, Ether has been very weak.
Now, XRP and few other altcoins has been doing great, fortunately, Xrp and few others altcoins has been enlisted as part of the Bitcoin strategic reserve to further boost it potential on the market and possibly overtake Etheruem at the second position on the Coinmarketcap ranking.
Well, as far as the crypto market are concerned, anything can happen, but the best will remain on the top positions.

I think ethereum is still strong as number two in CMC, because the difference in capitalization of XRP and ETH is still far.
Maybe the next cycle if the movement and growth of XRP is high, it can approach ethereum.
It all depends on the dev team in attracting investor interest, of course the community also has an influence in this matter

It is very difficult to get rid of Ethereum to be able to remain in the best ranking for Altcoin because until now, even though it has been corrected quite high, the position is still under Bitcoin. Many are good, like XRP, but it will not be easy to shift Ethereum, because when Ethereum begins to rise again, the distance will be further away and not easy to pursue.
