My bro, Nigeria as a country is literally far from democracy. Just imagine a candidate emphasizing that "it was is turn", as if presidency has now become a seat for anyone who have what it takes to earn it, and that's what it has truly become. He keeps telling the citizens to have patience and endure the hardship without even stating the plans on ground to solve the economic crisis. It's obvious that the current administration will condemn the country further for another 8 years, and also bring a successor to continue from where they stopped. Very shameful.

I don't know how the discussion come to this stage but let put mouth for here to make scores. Nigerian democracy died in the hand of APC from the first day they took over the leadership in the country.  To some extent democracy was practiced in the hand of PDP as of then but I don't know of now if they still take over. In Nigeria, INEC and the judiciary determine who would become president and the police and army completement or execute the plans of the two institutions to protect their interest.

The current ruling party has shown others how politics and dictatorship is run. I doubt if anyone other ruling political will be ever transparent to the people again. When the last ruling party where still very much active, it was a "you chop - I chop" era, which means they where working to some extent and also stealing. But for this current ruling party, the chopping dey one-sided.

It's this same ruling party that paralyzed protester's right, and make protest looks like something illegal. I remembered vividly from the last protest that was organized. The TUC said they won't join the nation wide protest, just because they don't know who is sponsoring it, Abeg, e get where protest for they get sponsors?, If no be the illiteracy and corruption wey they done enter every sector, which has made so many to see their right as crime, watin concern protest - concern sponsor.

One thing I know is that the country is not for the people and since the current president wasn’t chosen by the citizens (you know what I mean) then it’s definitely not a government by the people and of the people.

So if you put that into consideration and the way things are being done - and a government that said even if the citizens protest that they’ll still do what’s in their mind should also tell you about what we should classify them as.

The “democracy” in this countries government is only there as a name and not in their actions - the way they behave is that of a dictator and not a democratic government.

The citizens mouth are being shut and nothing can be done , k don’t think we have any right in this country with the way things are going  - you can’t do anything and the military personnel are behaving as if they are the right hand men of God ; I have seen in clips were citizens questioned police officers and they were very respectful and answered the questions but here you’ll have them beating citizens as if they are in a cattle ranch beating cows.

It is obvious this current system looks one-sided and marred with irregularities since inception. The inflation on the economy is so devastating that it can not be controlled anymore and our currency is on the free fall since her inception making it more weaker in exchange with the dollar thereby causing total economy inflation. The system is so weak that they have nothing to boast about anymore.

It is obvious this current system looks one-sided and marred with irregularities since inception. The inflation on the economy is so devastating that it can not be controlled anymore and our currency is on the free fall since her inception making it more weaker in exchange with the dollar thereby causing total economy inflation. The system is so weak that they have nothing to boast about anymore.

It's quite disappointing, because from a civilized sense, the literate ought to lead the illiterate (at least in most cases), but in our case, it's quite the opposite. The last time I checked, politics was never an occupation, but in this country, people actually do it for a living. Just imagine the presidency doing everything in their power to deliver a state to their own political party. A time will come where the entire 36 states will be ruled by a single political party, which is same as the ruling party itself.

The national power grid collapse more than 3 times in a space of 1-2 weeks, and it does even sound like a massive failure to the ears of those incharge. It seems the country is quite use to massive failures.

How ironic that in some instances education and intelligence does not appear to correspond with honesty specifically in the process of elections. What happens when people who have the knowledge and power to change things get carried away by power and self-interest? We get what happened to public trust. In fact, if all stakeholders strive to uphold clean values in elections, then the result is very huge and positive to the welfare of the larger society. That is why we all desire a real change of power when justice and honesty will be above the selfishness, to build a better life for all of us.

This is to tell you that no matter how educated a person is, they can never cover up their character. When it comes to elections, it is everyman for yourself and stomach. They already know the people that would approach them to lobby them and they know they would forget them when they get to the office so they take what they feel they can before they get to the office. That's the situation of things in this country.
It will take the Grace of God and the Heart of a committed person ready to effect the change through the elections to get hold of such position because the politicians already know themselves and would always want their supporter to take charge of such position.

Yes you are very correct because lot of things have been going on in the country and if going by protest I don't think there will be changes in the country but I think a kind of revolution would actually work perfectly which in other way round the results for total elimination of the old lineage rulership. When this happen there could be fear on the eyes of the politician and they will make an adjustment allowing the Young youth or people to rule instead of being hijacked by the old people but, one thing for sure is that if the country is sub divided into three then each of them managing the resources and it will be better whereby there will be competition between the sub-countries which try as much as possible to make sure their country stand out or remain the best among the three countries.

The scale of the tragedy and the obvious violations of people’s rights require an actual change, not rhetoric. It is time for us to unite and work for our incorporation, for our leaders to listen our common desire for a new, safe and dignified life.

Protest is not bad to do, but it has to be done with a serious caution because of the impediments that comes after any of the protests taken place, first there must be some set of people to coordinate the protest in other not to allow the hoodlums to hijack it for loots on the innocent citizens as well of any forms of violence, then there be be a clarity in what is being projected in demand from the protesters and the channels to use in conveying the same challenge information to the appropriate targets, which are the leaders.

Instead, based on previous experiences, the government will pay some people to destroy public properties to make it look like it is done by the protesters so that they can send the Army against the protesters to scare them, and this method has been working for them.
