My First Karma, where did it come from, who sent it ??

That means I also get Karma from other members, even though my posts are just like usual which is what I experienced and I am present in this altcoinstalks only to learn about cryptocurrency.

You have got a positive karma.  If you get negative karma, if you had any previous karma then one will be reduced from it.  And earlier if there was no karma then it would show in your profile as -karma. Karma transactions have not yet been made public in this forum. so moderators and general users can't see karma transactions, who gave karma to whom and when.  Only Admin can see it.

You must have made a good post somewhere that this karma came from and PX-Z already told he/she gave you that positive karma point

As far as I understand, 'The Eye of Sauron' feature will only give you a karma log so you can know who gave karma points, but for now, you won't get information on which posts got karma.
This feature becomes non-exclusive if you are also given access to see the karma log of other users besides you (you may be excluded if you also pay separately for that).

Yes, I am here at altcoinstalks trying to learn everything about cryptocurrency because it seems like I am comfortable being present at this altcoinstalks forum.

No, I don't mind it but I am actually amazed by the many features of altcoinstalks and that's why I created this thread.
And I also feel appreciative of myself because this is my first Karma which basically I don't know the function, use, sender, what this karma is used for someday.

Yeps, I'm on altcoinstalks trying to make posts that may not be good but I'm sure can be valuable and provide information to other members. Especially maybe for the discussion of Bitcoin Core, Altcoins and various unique features of cryptocurrency.

On the thread you linked to your post, you’ll see that there’s an option available for you to see where karma is coming from and that is for you to acquire Eye of Saurus(sorry for my spelling) - but if you can’t afford to pay for it you’ll just have to keep using the forum without knowing where, who and what post earned you your karma. Which means you’ll have to make all your posts constructive if you wish to earn karma from all of them or most of them.

not being able to see who gave out karma to what post (freely) can be limiting since as a newbie you would want to check which kind of posts get appreciated and which ones do not

i would suggest to not aim for karma but instead just genuinely be interested in the forum and have fun in interacting and sharing insights with other members of the forum

Good that you use telegram bot notification. Without that, it is difficult to surf this forum. I am yet scared of the scammers den called telegram. The trauma of my past experience there is still disturbing me

You can just ignore them, and make sure you don't just joining any channels or group. Or if some random stranger message you without giving any reason on its first message better to delete and ignore the message/user just like i usually do. Lol. And last option is changing username.

Didn't know it is possible to change username on telegram. In almost all platforms, it is very difficult to change username, didn't know that telegram has a different rule. I use more of WeChat for biz, I can confidently start using telegram actively again.

That's the spirit and exact goal of the admin, a few times I've read him talk about why he decided to make the sender of Karma hidden from the receiver, he mentioned that he wants users of the forum not to overdo themselves, that is, he wants users to interact naturally without the hope of getting anything from another user or the user they are perhaps, replying to.

And to be honest, as much as I would have loved to know who sent me karma, the admin's decision to keep this hidden have indeed contributed greatly to the unity of all users on the forum, we are not divided like it is on BTT where there is a particular group of users always giving merit to themselves regardless of post quality, where as some other users without friends struggle to earn merit even with quality posts.

This was my last option when i experienced horde of spammers last month, i received 4-6 messages everyday. I think my username was listed on a database for dating sites lmao as i always received message from horny spammers.

This forum has admin and their community so they hide the karma provider option. You may also benefit from btt forum where information about merit provider and trust provider is available. Also you can see which post you got merit from. However, this is altcoinstalks forum so it is normal that rules may different.

That we cannot know who gives us or takes Karma from us can be annoying for many users. But you don't know how much trouble this saves the forum as a community, otherwise it would be a real disaster of meaningless arguments and fights, believe me. In things like Karma, it is better to know almost nothing. It is not difficult to achieve and with patience it increases.
