What's the penalty for having multiple accounts connected?

Hey! I don't need to write much as the question is clearly stated in my post title.

I know this forum does not allow creating multiple accounts especially using same device but I'm yet to come across a post that clarifies the issue of operating multiple accounts.

Signature campaigns is on the increase in this forum and of course, the greedy ones will definitely want to find ways to abuse it by using several other accounts on different devices to join the campaigns the way it's happening in other platforms.
Now my question is this, what will happen if they mistakenly use same address for different accounts? If they are found guilty beyond reasonable doubt of using multiple accounts, what is the penalty?

And to add to that, I think the admin also brought up an idea that was suppose to help campaign mangers identify accounts that are connected. I can't really find the thread now, but I think "tag connected accounts" gets a specific dot color. Anyone with the specific link to the thread can share. Am not sure now if this is same as the first.

Apart from both the responses above you can also take a look at this thread : Multi-account penalty.

where you can notice some of them given penalty if they are using their duplicate accounts, this is not bitcointalk where multi accounts is allowed but here you can have only one account unless you reached hero member then you're allowed to have two more accounts and it should be declared as well to avid any penalty.

Every user that reaches hero rank can have 2 additional accounts that should be declared as duplicates.
Thus a total of 3 accounts that can join bounty and signature campaigns.
The bounty managers have no problem accepting the duplicates accounts if content quality is good.

As far as I understand, you can have multiple accounts but you shouldn't hide this information.

Just declare that it is your alt and do not abuse the system trying to duplicate your earnings when it is not allowed.

I agree that there should be a penalty for people who join the same signature campaign with more than one account, or persons who abuse contests and giveaways with multiple accounts. But having multiple accounts without abusing the system should not be a problem, even if the user decides not to declare it, maybe the admin should slightly change this rule. I am also sure there are a lot of users who are not aware of this rule.

Why? What can't you do with your single account that you want to have multiple? It is a regular rule on many forums and other projects that you are allowed to have only one account for a person, nothing extraordinary. And you can even have more than one if you really need it and will declare it and if main purpose is not just in participating in different campaigns.

I never said i cannot do without just a single account, if that is what you are asking. I was only giving my own opinion on the matter, which of course does not really matter in the overall scheme of things. I guess i am kind of used to how the system works in BTT, but it is not an issue as altcoinstalks is a different forum.

I don't think offence lies in having alts accounts, but using any of the alts to violate the rule of the forum, a good example is when you're abusing the use of karma, secondly is when participating in the same signature campaign with your alt account or when you apply for any contents which stated clearly as spart of it rules that alts account were not permitted and you intentionally did so, if we are doing something and our conscience from the other side is suggesting wrong idea over it, then we are likely to go against the law if we didn't take heed over it.

That was what i thought, but that is not how things work around here, every user is only allowed to have one account. However, the exception is that if you have reached hero rank, you can have an extra 2 accounts, and that is 3 in total, but you have to declare your alt accounts, after which everything's fine.

That's why you need to read or re-read rules and other discussion thread linked to it to grasp more knowledge about the particular rules, and asking thread like this will always benefit you and others to gain more of it.

It's honestly hard for me to imagine (although I'm aware that they exist) those members who have multiple accounts and participate in various sig campaigns with them - because there are few who can write 100 or more quality posts per week, unless that's their only job. But it's also no secret that some members earn much more from sig campaigns than if they did a regular job in their country.

Nevertheless having more than one undeclared account is against the rules by itself. In most cases users don't need having multiple accounts. If they need for some purpose they can declare it and get a duplicate account.

There was a famous case of a user who cheated CM campaign and earned tons of BTC with his multiple accounts. I could add 3 users to best campaign, wtf!
