Another fight in Japan? Anyway, high KO percentage for both fighters suggests that this is not going full 12 rounds. I'm guessing that both fighters will be cautious of each others power in the three to six rounds. Once that's over, Inoue is more likely to take over.
Absolutely! Though I am not that familar with Doheney but I know he can give Inoue a good fight even though gamblers will take Inoue who has an edge on this match but that range of rounds you gave no doubt about that if Doheney won't score a knockout against the monster. But I can also say that we cannot call a monster "a monster" if he's just staying inside his cage so yeah I think we need to see the Japanese guy fight outside of his comfort zone.

Inoue is the heavy favorite of this fight, the betting here is what round would Doheny last. The odds of "over 4.5 @1.9x" is somewhat attractive for me since i think Inoue will not attack right from the get go as to not suffer the same fate where he was knockdown in the first round against Luis Nery. Most probably, this fight will go above five rounds in my opinion.

That might likely be the case for Inoue, however, if he thinks that he could take out TJ early, I do not think that TJ will survived because Inoue has a deadly instinct as well. He could smell that his opponent is getting weaker maybe thru his body punches or in the head. We have seen him destroying Dasmarinas in just 2 rounds because of body shots. So it's possible that Inoue will have that in mind, going into TJ's body and see if he can take it or not.

And the odds are really appealing at the over 4.5, but when I check the odds on Stake it's at @1.80. So I guess this is where most gamblers are looking at right now and maybe someone has put a big money already that's why there are odds swing from 1.90->1.80.

Nevertheless it's a good odd a decent bet on it mate will give you a good return. I haven't pull my trigger yet, but I'm going to bet on this one once I have refilled my crypto wallet.  :)

How time flies so fast that this fight will happen tomorrow night in Japan.

I've already placed my bet for this fight that this will go over 4.5 @1.76 boosted.

Yeah, I almost forget about this fight, Stake still has it at 1.84 so I might bet later on it, still plenty of time or will look at our local bookies for instant betting.

I'm excited to see how Inoue will handle TJ experienced. And don't believed some videos circulating on Tiktok that shows TJ knocking out Inoue. It could be just a old fight of TJ in Japan and his opponent is not Inoue hehehe.

Congrats to both of us, it's a good bet and win. Inoue is really a very hard boxer to beat at this point although it's very uncanny for him to start very slow in this fight.

But I guess he will adjust on what his opponents is going to offer for him. In the Nonito fight, it was Donaire who wanted action and so Inoue give it to him. Here, it was different, and perhaps TJ's orthodox style makes it difficult for Inoue to crack and so it was good that we bet on over 4.5 rounds.

And as per Top Rank's Bob Arum,

Quote
The “Monster” Naoya Inoue was left picking bits of TJ Doheny out of his teeth after savaging his prey in seven rounds inside Koto-Ku’s Ariake Arena in Tokyo. Afterwards, it was confirmed by promoter Bob Arum that Inoue will next have his customary end-of-year fight in Japan before embarking on a date in America to open his 2025 campaign.

https://www.boxingscene.com/naoya-inoue-breaks-down-tj-doheny-with-date-america-on-horizon--185724

And that is what we are talking here, he should be exposed to American fans and so it's about time for Inoue to go to the US and show us what his made of. After his customary end of the fight in Japan this 2024, and who ever that opponent is, I do not think that he will be good enough to beat Inoue.

Then we will all await in his US debut, I want him to fight the champions at 126 lbs, Angelo Leo might be a perfect fit for him. Leo just dethroned Lopez and so we have a new champion vs a upcoming contender and pound for pound in Inoue, that could be a great fight.

Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs TJ Doheny 122lb Title fight-September 3
« Reply #24 on: September 04, 2024, 01:50:53 AM »
Congrats to both of us, it's a good bet and win. Inoue is really a very hard boxer to beat at this point although it's very uncanny for him to start very slow in this fight.

But I guess he will adjust on what his opponents is going to offer for him. In the Nonito fight, it was Donaire who wanted action and so Inoue give it to him. Here, it was different, and perhaps TJ's orthodox style makes it difficult for Inoue to crack and so it was good that we bet on over 4.5 rounds.

Congrats to both of us bro  8).

Just fortunate that our speculation is just what happened, i mean the early KO/TKO did not happen as both were not engaging early in the fight. We could say that Inoue is really a hard to beat boxer in the 122-lbs division, he just break down Doheny with ease.

Congratulations for that win. And just like what we have expected, Inoue has clean up this division already, although I also read that he will have his last fight in Japan before the end of the year.

And Inoue is still very sharp I should say, kudos to TJ he is a good fighter and I think he can reckon at this division and with the best of them. However, Inoue is really the best of this super bantamweight division and we want him to go up to featherweight and fight in America next year.

Yes, and we hear Arum says that Inoue will be fighting in the US soil, so that makes everyone excited already. Because we have been putting him down for just fighting in Japan.

Now, it's going to be a true test for Inoue if he will be fighting again in the US against a solid American boxer at featherweight. And his hype will grow more if the American fans witnessed him still knocking anyone at his new weight class.

As per Bob Arum's plan, Inoue will defend his title on December 24th against Sam Goodman. This card will also feature another Japanese champion Junto Nakatani in the undercard. The article says that if both Japanese will win, they will meet in April 2025 at Tokyo Dome in Japan so Inoue's fight in US soil might be delayed for a few months next year.

Great, Sam Goodman will be his last stop before going into the featherweight division and hopefully, he will not derailed any plans of Inoue going into American next year. It is also much needed for Inoue to fight in US soil as we have been requesting from him to get out of comfort zone and fight outside of Japan.

And it seems our wish have been heard by Bob Arum. And probably Inoue himself has been hearing what fans said of him, and so he is willing to change the course of his career again by going Stateside.

Same outcome though, I'm not seeing Sam Goodman as well to derail the plans, he is slow, although methodical as well, but it's not enough to put a stop on the winning streak of Inoue unless he got a lucky punch.

But he doesn't have the power to score a knockout, and then Inoue is complete as he had a solid chin. So we will see who he will be fighting next year at the featherweight division and having his status, I won't be surprised if he is given a chance to fight for a belt in his first fight at 126 lbs.
