I also don't think it's a political move but they made it clear in their statements that they are after Pavel because of his Telegram app because it is providing people with data that they (authorities) think people don't need to see. So, in other words, authorities are trying to censor things for us. I just love (not) how they care for us haha.

I mean, each country might be good to another in public, but inside this world is like a family where one is talking on the back of others. One country doesn't want to see progress in another country, one country doesn't want any family member to reveal the secrets to another family, and another family likes it till they get information, but when their information also starts to be revealed, they don't like it then.

As far as I know, technically messages are encrypted according to them and they are spread across their services. But in theory, they could get all the messages if they wanted to. And that's how every apps is, even if they said that it is encrypted by default. In any case though, we haven't heard any official word from them regarding accessing messages and probably this is why France and any entity for that matter wanted to break them by arresting Durov and accusing him of a crime as it's app is being used because they have encryption features.

It will be ridiculous of French government to include TON as a lawsuit against him. For what exactly? Telegram initially wanted to take Telegram and work with the parent company but many government were against that and a independent company was formed as TON, now tell me why will Ton be involved in this law suits?

Whenever the government would be denying that something is not a political move, in most cases it is. Maybe France actually do not care the rule of the law...the thing is to file a case in court and have Durov respond to the case so he can be tried fairly and not be prosecuted just because he is the founder of a platform the government maybe don't like to their bones. I am hoping for the resolution of this case as there is a big pressure on the French government to do what is right and to follow the procedures in lawful manner.

Yeah, exactly, we would see if he will be indicted. The last i heard about this case was that he was transferred to a court today for questioning, i believe if this initial questioning is not satisfactory, the he will be formally indicted in court. It will be a real case and may last for a long time if he is finally charged to court.

I'm not entirely sure but I heard from some Telegram channels that he was released from temporary detention and transferred to court about two hours ago and I don't know if his trial has started or not.

Anyway, as you mentioned, we are very far from issuing a verdict now because the trial may take a long time, but we are talking about the potential negative and positive effects in case of Durov's conviction or acquittal, certainly in both cases we will see significant effects on the market in general and on Ton and Telegram in particular.

I do believe the same thing. Now, it is reported that the arrest warrant was issued in March 2024, and I am curious if Pavel Durov knew that. He has French citizenship as well, but I guess he never knew that France issues arrest warrants. It seems his brother is also wanted by the French police.
