instead of scamming people in this era, the number of victims of the reality of life in this era is increasing even more. And Bitcoin or cryptocurrency is the main one used today to steal money through online.

This is the method that is often seen and read in the news today in social media news and in articles via hacking. and phishing. that's why everyone involved in the crypto space needs to be extra careful.
yes, we who are involved in the crypto world must be careful because there are many scams in the crypto world. Scammers will always be there with various tricks to deceive people. Moreover, we also often see many unknown tokens that suddenly enter our wallet, we should never try to make transactions with these tokens because we will lose our crypto assets.
We will never be able to eliminate fraudsters, because they will always be there. What we can do is minimize so that we do not fall into their traps, knowledge is one way to minimize this.

Especially if we are in a digital-based era, this is a vulnerable place if we do not have enough knowledge. This is why we are required to have a lot of knowledge, one of which is to avoid this kind of thing.

And we will meet fraudsters wherever we invest, especially in the semi-anonymous crypto world because there are no rules that can trap scammers because they can fake their IDs. That's what I have observed so far, so we must always be careful and as you said we must have knowledge and experience.

We must have knowledge so that we are not deceived because fraudsters are also smart people with bad behavior. And we will meet fraudsters wherever we invest, especially in the semi-anonymous crypto world because there are no rules that can trap scammers because they can fake their IDs. That's what I have observed so far, so we must always be careful and as you said we must have knowledge and experience.

Most scammers are just upgraded version of knowledge that decided to use it in the wrong way, they rather lie and pretend with knowledge in good use than to use it for good cause and because the victims are been greedy, they will rather buy something or invest into something that is too good to be true than buy a coin with developers running up and down trying to create something valuable.

If you want to be free from scammers, just remove from your mind and focus on something that is more valuable with products but this doesn't mean you are free from scammers, they can still disguise in that for but it's left for you to figure it out with your own knowledge or DYOR.

We must always be careful in the crypto world because there are many scammers who always have new strategies to deceive. Focus on something that you suggest is our capital in investing by doing research first before buying or transacting so that we are not deceived.

Yes, they are smart and skilled people, but unfortunately they use their intelligence for something bad, because their behavior is very detrimental to others. I even believe that maybe they are smarter than someone who has been in this space for a long time.

They always find new ways to deceive people when the old ways they do are already known to many people. Even if we look at social media like X, there are always scammers in every post from the original account.

Using old tricks these days does is just absurd as they are just wasting their time and efforts. Nobody should send those scammers any penny or dime as they're not worth it.

Unfortunately, these old tricks still work, and this is why they are still doing it. If you check their Bitcoin address, you will see they receive money from time to time, which means the victims are still sending money to them. You and I know that this is a pure garbage scam because we are regular in cryptospace and we see these crypto scams every other day.

When it comes to crypto newbies, or an average joe who does not really know about these scams, they can be trapped by those scammers. There is no way they will share the fact with someone because it's thing they cannot share with everyone. Unfortunately, a lot of people still fall for these scams and lose their money.

These old tricks probably works on newbies who does not understand most of these tricks as they have no knowledge of how the system works yet.  However, some smart newbies can not fall for them as their curiosity would make them source for more information to know if they are really into a genuine stuff or not. Sometimes I just feel people get scammed sometimes as a result of their instability. They barely read to get information, they just quickly click and start all of that without prior information of what they about getting themselves into and after they could realize, they must have done the wrong thing and by then it would be too late to reverse.

Smart newbies will be careful and find out the truth and can ask seniors who have long invested in crypto so as not to be fooled by scammers. because seniors will share their experiences if they want to ask. There are indeed many tricks used by scammers but if we want to learn them, we will not be fooled.

We must have knowledge so that we are not deceived because fraudsters are also smart people with bad behavior.
That's quite true, the frauds are the ones with knowledge and bad behavior or you can say that the trapped souls who are trapped by their own desired and greed and in influence of greed they do fraud with others.

They're wise and knowledgeable and that's why people often become prey to them because they know very well that how to manipulate someone. They know the tactics of social engineering and they keep improving their deceiving skills overtime.

We can only protect ourselves from those scammers if we improve our own knowledge and get awareness about such scammers. The simplest formula to be safe from those scammers is to not trust anyone in online world.

Re: Watch Out for Crypto Scams!
« Reply #98 on: September 16, 2024, 03:48:18 AM »

That is what is expected of the newbies to do. The smart newbies are always curios and would want to know more when ever they encounter difficulties or something strange they can not comprehend. They meet their senior for more insight and guidance so they could not make any mistake but however, those who got to know crypto by themselves tends to have the issues to deal with scams because they have no one to guide them so they learn it the hard way.

Scammers will always have strategies and tricks to trap their victims, so we must be careful and always protect our wallets from scammers because we will lose our assets if we are not careful. Read more about the experiences of friends who have been scammed because it will make us understand more about the tricks of the scammers. Scammers always do their tricks because as you said they will enrich themselves.
That is the advantage of fraudsters, and it must be remembered that they will not tire of continuing to set traps that can be made to anyone and do not choose the targets they will target. All will be positioned the same and no one is distinguished. For that, everyone who has a wallet should be guarded well so as not to be fooled by promises that might actually set traps so that we can fall into their traps.
I think we will continue to update all information obtained from everything that can be used as a reference so as not to get caught in the clutches of a fraudster.

Look, Forget about the forum. Imagine you are a teenage guy who just found out that there is a thing called crypto on Facebook or Twitter. You bought some Bitcoin or other crypto from an exchange like Binance and are keeping that there. Then again, you saw an ad on Facebook that you can multiply your Bitcoin from a project, and they are giving you a 2x return after 24 hours.

Since you are a crypto newbie, you most likely do not know who knows better, where to ask if it's legit or not. Mosty, the crypto newbies fall for scams because they don't know where to ask the question and who will give him a good suggestion.

It's pretty hard and tempting for a newbie to go all in even with little funds he's got just because he can really believe in a thing you've said.
They will learn their lesson the hard way, usually, and some work needs to be done in order to not to fall in such a trap again.

I totally agree with you, that the best experience is to experience firsthand what the problem is that has happened to him, so that the experience will leave a mark, and it is certain that he will not repeat similar actions again. It is certain that no one wants to make mistakes over and over again unless he is not smart. Moreover, the problem with crypto is that if you don't know, you can learn first and ask those who understand because it is easy to do, for that.

Yep. I remember I found a cloud mining website back in 2017 or maybe in a similar year when I was first introduced to cryptocurrency. Their latest transactions showed that they were paying hundreds of dollars in Bitcoin to the users. Luckily, I did not have enough balance to upgrade the account, which required withdrawing mined Bitcoin.

Later, I learned that it was just a scam website where users had to upgrade their accounts to withdraw funds, but they never managed to withdraw. They also did some tricks: They paid out to some random users to gain some trust on the internet. I was lucky that I did not invest there.

In fact, starting a business venture without enlightenment tends to make novices driven by the spirit and phrases such as get-rich-quick but easily they are engulfed by misfortunes that follow. Whether one is or isn’t able to meet the set goals, a bitter experience will have been a forceful lesson in futility. Hence, it should never be that a person does not have sufficient education in the first place and does not know that risk is ever present. To be better prepared for existing challenges, beginners need to manage expectations and plan a mature strategy.

And if initial failure what is not the end of everything. That is where one may learn what a better decision is and how the world of business works in fact. Finding a role model or a reliable source of advice, retraining skills, is what gets one up again and new with more useful knowledge on how to do so. As such, they end up having bad experiences become good ones that can help get them closer to achieving their dreams.
