Yes, this is a message for everyone, including myself. We should ignore messages that don't make sense, or we can directly ask the project on their social media channels.

because they will definitely use the name of a certain project, so we can confirm it directly. Usually a project will even give a warning that they never send private messages to participants.

Sometimes if you ask for their social media handles, they would still give you and that is a fake in most cases, if it happens that the original project is doing a promotion and the scammers are using or taking advantage of the promotion to scam people, they would still send you the original social media handles so you could think they are for real and you will be decieved into doing whatever they want you to do because you have seen the social media handles to be genuine and the promo to be inline with what you saw on their handle.

Scammers are very smart to knowing what to do so they do not expose themselves. Requesting their social media handles from them is like one shooting himself on his own foot. It is better one does their own research than putting themselves at big risk to demanding for such from them if they are suspecious.
No, don't get me wrong. I mean, we directly ask the project, it can be a discord channel, telegram and others. Don't just look at the message sender, that's the same as lying.

We also have to be careful, because they usually also spread fake sites along with the sites released by the official project. So we also have to directly see the site that is truly official, and we can take it from the discord channel that specifically announces, I usually do that.

We should ask on the official sites of the project so as not to be fooled by scammers because there are many links spread to deceive people. Because many newbies become victims because they do not check it on the official sites. Moreover, the project that is currently hype is very vulnerable.

Asking on the official channel doesn't guarantee safety either. If you've been into telegrams/discord long enough, you'll notice there are still members that complains about an admin or moderator scamming them. That is because it's not that hard to impersonate them, a fraudster could easily copy their profile picture and imitate their user handles.

I have also experienced that, asking on the official website then suddenly getting PM from a fake account using the admin profile and name asking about my problem, but I checked it in the admin list there, then I did a request message with the moderator or admin on their official website, I think this is safer.

That's what I mean, because if we just click on the site that is sent, they usually send the official channel owned by the project, only they will tell us to click on the link that they have created themselves.

One way to anticipate that, and I also see many people doing the same thing, yes they ask directly on the official channel and are answered directly by the project.

This is not enough not to get scammed. There are different ways scammers can outsmart you and asking or using the website is one of the least worry you might not even need. One person can assemble different profile of people just that are not involved in the project or even knows about it to scam people and take crowd fund away.

If you want to invest in crypto, you have to be very ready for risks involved and don't a thorough research is the only way to avoid been scam. Try as much as possible to do every research in every aspect regarding crypto investment so you don't fall for one.

Especially now, we are very closed to the approaching bull run for bitcoin, actually we are already in a bull run, the real rally for bitcoin hasn't even started yet, we are in a correction again in the short-period of time.

Yes we have to be careful as Scammers take their time to spread fake website as you have said and these fake website looks similar to the original with just some slight difference if carefully looked into. This has been the major problem were investors make mistake in dealing with the wrong information and ends up being scammed.

We all should know that Mods do not DM first so whoever DMS you claiming to be a team member or a mod of a project group is a scammer. Do not fall for them as they are everywhere looking for who to scam. We just have to be vigilant and mindful of our engagements online.

Especially now, we are very closed to the approaching bull run for bitcoin, actually we are already in a bull run, the real rally for bitcoin hasn't even started yet, we are in a correction again in the short-period of time.
bitcoin price has gone back up although it has not reached $100K, so we will likely see bitcoin and altcoin prices go up.
The danger of scammers is taking advantage of the hype and bull run moment so we have to be careful in making transactions or participating in an event such as an airdrop.

Well, the scammers' social media will also be the same as the real ones, for example their X (Twitter). We can see there, all scammers will use almost the same name, even we need a while to distinguish them because they look the same.

However, if we are careful, we will find different letters, even if it is only one letter. We really have to be very careful in this matter.

We should ask on the official sites of the project so as not to be fooled by scammers because there are many links spread to deceive people. Because many newbies become victims because they do not check it on the official sites. Moreover, the project that is currently hype is very vulnerable.

If you think that you will get away from scammers just by asking for the official sites from legit people, then you're wrong. For me, when it comes to the legit websites, I always go with Coinmarketcap and Coingecko to access their legit website. I don't think that they will put phishing websites as it might affect their reputation. Didn't experience anything bad on it.

Investing in general has risks, and making research would be helpful as well. While I was a newbie, what I do is, I watch YouTube videos on how to prevent being scammed or at least what are the signs that you're dealing or interacting with a scammer. Aside from that, I spend some time on reddit reading posts regarding scams. I believe that experience really is best teacher and learning from them would help you learn more on how these scammers are operating as well.

This is why it is good to always verify social media handles of projects before  dealing so that one does not get into the wrong hands because if that happens, there is no way such resources could be recovered so it would be nice a proper verification is done on projects handles to know the original  and the fake.

Yes, verifying to make sure it is really from an official project should always be done. I also sometimes follow airdrops and there are announcements to claim prizes, I always make sure that the link I use is official and we can see it directly from their official channel.

Actually, if we are not too lazy to do that, things like this can be avoided, but some people are usually lazy or forget so they get caught by scammers.

People tends to always be in a haste to do airdrops immediately they get the information without a proper verification maybe because the source through which they get the information is the reliable one but sometimes they might share wrong or fake projects without them knowing only just to get referrals first before they take their time to look into it and realise what they might have shared is wrong but if from the end you notice it you could avoid it and call their attention to it so that they inform their followers but the lazy ones do not bother hence put people in risk of getting scammed.
