As far as I understand, senators can't vote. Even we vote, it won't be counted.

These senators will remain senators, therefore votes towards these senators will not be counted.

Is senator vote valid, @Freemind @dragononcrypto?

If this means people cannot vote the current senators, surely people don't need to vote them since they are senators already.

I moved your post to this thread... per the quote, votes towards senators will not be counted. Votes from senators are fine.

This was intended to simply clarify that if users voted for senators it would be a wasted vote, as they will remain senators anyway.

Regardless of the results, you should also be mentioned. You devoted a lot of time and energy to managing the entire process, counting votes several times...

I would personally put a veto on the 3rd as the vote difference is huge, i would suggest a round 2 for 3rd senator
but it's up to president to decide.

I guess we should have allowed each user to choose 3 names to avoid such a huge difference in votes.

Without wanting to say I told you so, I definitely recommended this in the first place but was overruled

While I agree that a 3rd place run off makes sense, we already decided to elect the 3 candidates with the most votes.

To change the decision now would just be bad form by anyone in a position of power...

Congratulations to new senators! It's quite amazing to see that we have three of those instead of one and that's a good thing I guess. I hope all of them will perform their duties very well.

Since I know all three guys from Bitcointalk forum, than I am hoping to see some positive changes in future of this forum.

honestly i wish i can give you guys all powers, and go take a 6 months vacation on a beach somewhere
have been running this forum for almost 7 years, it's exhausting..
who knows, as we build these democratic systems, everything is possible
even the role of administration itself can be transferred/shared (we'll see in the future)

I don't think forums can survive long term without some central authority figure.
It is possible to have most of the things run in more decentralized way, but this would probably slow things down a lot.
I am not sure how much money is needed for running servers and everything else for crypto forum, but I guess everything goes up if forum keeps growing.

Although when you say “we'll see in the future” I know it's something you haven't thought about in depth, I don't think that idea is entirely accurate depending on what it means. Like dkbit98, I think there should be a "central" authority that, if a specific case, update or problem requires it, makes a decision, in case the other parties have not been able to make that decision correctly and by consensus.

I hope that when the time comes we can talk about this in more depth.
