So what is everybody using for their crypto assets?

In an ideal world, we all would be using hardware wallets, but I'd understand if you do not use them for one reason or another (as long as you're not being reckless).

Also what operating system do you use for looking at / using crypto related stuff in general. Would be interesting to see if there is a derivation from the usual "80% Windows - 17% Mac, 3% Linux" sort of proportions that tell the market shares for normal users.

All of the Mobile phones except Apple's are built on Linux based kernel Android so I use Android and Windows to access my crypto I don't carry a laptop to every location so I use Android based phones mostly to access my crypto. I don't use a hardware wallets due to many reasons like difficult access and funds are not huge that they require a separate hardware wallet.

What's your OS for crypto and for all the tasks? Mac is a secure OS but it's expensive and I don't like Linux although its a good OS compared to Windows.

That's what I know. Android is a derivative of Linux which we now use on our mobile phones. Linux been around since the time Apple also started but they seem left behind still even when it's tech is more advance and used by bigger companies including our servers.

Since the time I was downloading files, I am already using Linux. It takes awhile to learn but this time we don't even used CLI in Linux anymore.

I make use of Android for all my crypto transactions and trading. This is because I don't like to use systems that often for crypto related matters and I use system mostly for my real life jobs and normal life activities. But when it comes to cryptocurrencies, I only make use of my phone. I use Trust wallet to store my coins and when it comes to coins that can't be stored on Trust wallet, I trade it for USDT or store in exchange, it's not the safest, but for some reasons.

I'm a long-time user of Windows and very comfortable using it ever since, so my priority has been Windows, followed by Android, I know that its better to use Linux when it comes to operating system but its been the one that I am very accustom in using I'm just employing the best security measures on Windos.

I uses Macbook since 2018 and also I have installed a Unix flavored on one of my old laptop, as I used it as back up as well. Unfortunately, after not using it for a long time, my old laptop has died already. My son was able to revived it, but then again, when I requested it to open it again so that I can used it, it won't so I have to get another backup.

Of course I have a hardware wallet as well, but it is well kept.

I voted for Mac even though I used hardware wallet and Linux regularly because I rarely touched my HW. It's for long-term storage. I also use Windows but no longer use it to manage my wealth. I'm also surprised to see Android ranked that high, though the sample is too small to make any meaningful conclusion. I guess you could say members on this forum prefer convenience or manage crypto in a small amount most of the time hence why they're comfortable with Android. CMIIW.

I feel you. I buy my Mac device because my work demands me to have one. I don't think I'll buy one if my goal is to secure my crypto properly. What's your issue with Linux? I believe they've become friendlier to use. I might be biased because I like to experiment with stuff though.

I'm a windows user, I already tried mac OS but it's hard to get used to
So I use Windows most of the time to deal with crypto, I use IOS when I'm out of home, and I use a hardware wallet to hold my BTC and ETH

When I use DeFi and try some airdrops, dex, NFTs, I use windows

I use Linux. In fact, i only Windows for tasks which can't be done with Linux or can't be done easily with Linux. I never use Mac because you must buy Apple device which isn't cheap, even though i could find used Apple device for relative low price.

hardware wallets are quite costly and if you do not have that much funds yet it does not seem to be the utmost priority especially if you are someone who uses crypto for transactions

anyway i use both android and windows i store most of it on a mobile device which is an android but i also use my laptop for other crypto transactions i think both are safe as i have not encountered any problems with both considering of course the kinds of software or wallets or exchanges you guys are using

Surprisingly, there are a lot of Android users. I guess that shows how easily a mobile phone can let you accept crypto payments by QR code. Although by that metric I was expecting to see more iOS crypto users. But that's alright; I think it has something to do with many of the traditional wallet software only supporting Android. (It is much harder to get into the App Store than to make an apk.)

Android and Windows, but more activities on Android. Because I'm rarely at home, so using an Android phone for crypto activities is very easy. Simple and easy to carry anywhere, but when I'm at home I use Windows. Actually, whatever type of OS is used, if we are used to using it, everything will run smoothly and fine.

Well, Android is still doing a very good job for me, I have two windows laptops by the side though, but the poll above does not give the Chance to select two options, so, I had to choose the option that I uses much more frequently, and that is my android phone.

Hardware wallet are very good, but it's not a popular option in this part of the world that I live, one reason is that, it's hard to find crypto hardware wallet in shops in my country, and when you decide to buy it online and have it sent over from another country, it's very expensive due to the current exchange rate between our local currency and the dollar, so most average people who are into crypto in this part of the world have to depend on alternative means of securing our crypto holdings, all we try to do is not to be reckless.

I was a little surprised too, but Android really is the most accessible device to anyone in the world
In my country, even though it's not first world, it's easy to buy an Android phone for less than 100 dollars or even less if you want a pre owned
iPhones, laptops and hardware wallets are more expensive or difficult to obtain, and this last one only if you import or pay a lot more

Linux will do finer than Mac and iPhone but using HW is better than anything. I don't like Mac or iPhones not only because they are expensive but because they keep a dire eye on our information I even heard they take continuous photos from their back and front cameras and you don't even know they are taking such pictures.

Linux these  days are pretty much easy to use anymore. unless you are going for some derivatives that work on older computer that you still want to keep.  xfce Desktop are very useful for old hardware.

back then most issues with Linux is that if after 4 years the LTS version of the derivative you use become unsupported, you my have to do some tweaking yourself like adding list of repositories just so you can update/upgrade. depending on the distro but if your program isn't in the repo, you'd have to compile the targz and its libs on your own. glad there are Linux forums for this.
