Don't only buy coins based on their popularity or their reputation! It is better to do a research to know the updated information about the coins. We also must analyze deeply the fundamentals. Dogecoin and Shiba Inu are popular altcoins but I don't invest in them because they have weak fundamentals. I'm not sure to invest in meme coins even if they are very popular nowadays.
This reminds me of some old coins that used to be very popular but in recent years they have been left behind. Altcoins like XRP, ADA, IOTA, POL, DIA, LTC, BCH, and many more altcoins that were once considered to be big, in the end now cannot develop very significantly. Luckily they are still in the top 100 coins because their market cap is quite high, it's just that their price development is very low and they have not been able to strengthen again after falling badly in the previous bearish era.
And this also applies now, we also have to be more careful when putting our money in new coins that are quite popular. It is better to stick to old coins, but those that already have a high market cap and ongoing project development. BTC, ETH, and BNB are the 3 main coins that I personally always hold and believe they can still survive in various market conditions.
