What does Watched mean?

Negative karma means mods are giving the spammer negative karma and even I have seen many members have the watched option and they have -1 karma but do not know why giving negative karma is necassary unless the member being watched is not spamming anymore but most of the spammer don't care and they spam everyone.

-1 Karma can also give heads up to every member to stay away from him in making any trades. There are some member who have watched badge but they don't have -1 karma maybe because they are just being watched and they are not spamming high so they are given relaxation until they spam again.

It might of been to be honest. Unlike freemind, as well as other mods, personally I distribute a reasonable amount of negative karma to shills, plagiarists, spammers, shitposters, and the like (shock horror) when punishing users. Granted it is somewhat irrelevant if you're dishing out a shill or AI badge, but for me it's just been a habit for a long time prior to having these badges (before we just had moderation groups mainly, so seemed more relevant). I don't think it's right or wrong to distribute -karma either, that's up to the user to decide, and for mods to determine whether useful or not.

Freemind is right that the -karma could have come from anyone, as any Snr+ member is eligible to distribute.

It didn't necessarily come from a mod either, could have been d team or otherwise.

The moderators' tools are always useful, although from time to time some things are missing, but that always has to do with the features of the forum, nothing more. For example, deleting several posts (with two clicks) from a user who posts a lot of spam would save us time, but it can be done in other ways to solve it.

When a user receives negative Karma, it does not necessarily have to be due to spam. It could be that another user disagrees with what is said in a post, that a news story is distorted, or that someone is blatantly lying. There are many reasons why we can receive negative Karma. But don't think about it too much, earning Karma is not difficult.

This is an example of a watched user (see the Watched in green). This is also intended to determine how long 20% watch level exists for, as can never remember.

Please don't give me negative karma though because I'm a clone, my purpose is good and I have only received a warning in order to try and better educate users in this topic

What if a user stops posting until the tag wears off after some days (short break) and start shitposting again! He can just repeat this process again and again, until a mod gives him an actual tag (permanent one). This way he can increase his activity and post count without having a badge! He isn't changing his past behavior.

That's a good question. It doesn't really matter if the user waits a reasonable amount of time until these warnings are automatically disabled. Warnings are cumulative and each user has a log where all this information is saved. When 3 warnings are reached, the user receives a badge (shiller, low quality post...) given by the moderators, and that badge is not automatically deactivated. by the system, it is permanent in most cases, and only the administrator and moderators could remove that badge.

How about a situation where the user having received any of the poor posting tag, and took a break (be it long or short) and returns, with post more of quality than before. Or received a permanent tag, and later made tremendous improvements on his post quality, will the permanent tag be withdrawn or will need to make some appeals before it can be removed.

On the other hand, I bet the chances of accepting the appeal is quite high, if the tagged used showed promising results in post quality! Considering the forum admin and moderators are very active and friendly!

Appeals of such kind should be made to the forum court. It's very unlikely PM to a global mod is going to work, unless an obvious error has been made:

As for cases with shills and AI, those cases have yet to be testing in the court for a precedent to be set by judges as far as I know.

Many people have given you so many answers but let me add mine. From various observation and seeing it from people profiles, whenever I see "Watched" in someone's profile, it means the user has committed an offence so he is liable to be punished so he is under the watched list to be punished. Either plagiarism or spamming. That is how I understand it.

It is a warning sign for the user that he should not do it again and if he continues, then he will be punished for the offense but if he didn't again and beg then second chance is given.

In those people there were moderators and they made things clear, and one of those things was the members don't have to beg, they just have to stop making the mistake or spam they are warned about and if they get 3 warnings they will be given this temporary badge, and still if they don't stop the percentage of spam increases and the badge becomes permanent.

This also means being watched is not bad, and the best we can do is to not make any financial trades with that member until he/she works on the badge.

nothing about being given a warning is personal so they should stop acting like it could be solved by appealing to the personal feelings of moderators you are given a warning or a punishment because of your behavior in the forum so maybe just focus on what you did wrong and learn not to do it again you will not be in that position if you did not violate any preexisting rule anyway so at the end of the day you can blame no one but yourself so make yourself a favor and do not further embarrass yourself

You actually do have a point when I first saw this particular post first stuff that popped up in my mind us exactly what you just said because aside from breaking any rules on the forum I actually can't find anymore reason why you would be watched.
Nevertheless this is actually the first time I'm coming across this kind of tag on a profile. I've seen others like AI detected and it's easy to confirm that since users with that tag mostly have generic posts.

There are probably lots of badges, group members and other "profile decorations" that still exist that some users might have pnever seen before lol. The forum has wide range of these kind of things. Because there is no particular updated thread that explains all of this.

You're right, there are many different groups and badges. The difference is that some "negative" groups and badges are only accessible to moderators, since it contains information that cannot be displayed publicly. On the other hand, the decoration, as you say, can be completely seen by users.

Yeah you are actually very correct. The from has a lot of custom badges ranks and other profile tags too that are not all put in a particular thread. So far I think one of the most common tag is the teleported and that is actually because most of the members that are very much active here teleported from bitcoin talk and so they all understand what tag means.

To an extent I think the reason why most of these tags, ranks and even custom titles don't have a particular thread that contain all of them is because they were not all created at the same time it's more like admin creates them or implements them at intervals and sometimes probably skip creating a thread for them.
