I guess many of you felt that there's not much of new topics were created for the discussions to happen and people keep beating around the bushes on the old existing threads by repeating the same old stuffs.

I beleive new topics are really important to increase the engagement on this forum so I thought how about rewarding the thread creator +1 Karma automatically for creating a thread but we might wonder this will definitely leads to abuse that's why it's only applies to one thread per person for 24 hours or whatever the time frame seems optimal also it can be limited to certain boards only.

Just pitching it here and let's see what community members think about this or can suggest something better that can lead to more interesting topics.

That's a good idea. This won't lead to spam since it's limited to 1 thread with 1+ karma, but I don't know if others are interested in 1+ karma for every topic they made.
We can make any topic we want and it's open to everyone maybe increasing the karma 2 or 3 is much more attractive?

I see that as a very good idea, and probably a way of raising more topics and occupying members but since this won't get to all the thread, then how can users know which one to raise a topic on?
And I'm also thinking..., what if the topic raised doesn't seem to catch the interest of the members, do you think the user will still get a +1 karma?

How will you ensure that it is not abused? It will be easy for bots to get a lot of Karma and adding restrictions will complicate everything. The easiest solution is to create a topic like "Support those who create high quality topics" and then add the link to those topics and they will get more than +1 Karma.

Maybe it will be right to set an amount of posts, that will make topic as “interesting for discussion and demanding”, and only then grant +1 karma for topic creator? People wont spam with useless topic, and OP of an interesting topic will get rewarded for spent time on searching for info. I think that will be fair. Lets say when topic gets +10 posts there, OP gets +1 karma one time. Maybe it can be corrected with +10 posts and +500 topic views.

To stop the spam, I suggested the 1Karma per day no matter how many threads they create which seems reasonable to me but any suggestions to tackle is welcome. Abusers will obviously get the attention let's say if someone create 100 topics each for a day and they have no intention of continuing the discussion on created thread then they might be issued some kind of badge for their behaviour.

Creating a dedicated thread and posting the useful threads is also very good option but I thought something from the admin to increase the engagement

Proposal: Karma requirements for ranks are not very welcome accepted, although it could affect the quality of posts on the forum.
The reduction of some good signature campaigns certainly affects the reduction of the activity of some of the members who wrote well.

I beg to differ with this statement, even though Karma is not required for ranking up or anything else still it's kind of recognition to their profile over the time it differentiate them over everyone in terms of contribution.

The number of campaigns does affect the activity fairly but even the one who are active not seems to be interested in bringing new contents for discussion.

Enabling the quality bar might help push things forward more than Karma, I don't remember seeing an account with a green dot or any high quality points.

Therefore, if another poll is to be conducted, it should be one in which only members with a certain rank can vote. We, regular members, can't see anything other behind this pool. But if that's the case, then it's obvious proof that the proposal is good, just because account farmers are against it.
Since any significant upgrade is progressing very slowly on this forum, it is questionable when it would be realistic to expect a new implementation that would give importance to karma points. For now, the option to convert karma points into ALTT tokens is still open.

I also think the proposal is good, which is why those new "users" are against it being implemented on the forum one day. In any case, that poll should be done again with some requirements, as I said.

As for Karma, I still think the same, for some users it may seem like a mere decoration, but that could change at any time if, for example, a campaign manager used it as a requirement for users to be accepted to participate. It's just an example, I'm not saying it will happen at some point.

Good idea, thanks for implementing it, it's still a growing forum but I'm sure at some point the campaign managers will put more restrictions on where you can post, as many of the boards will be unpaid and therefore spam will be much less.
The need now is to organize the forum, delete/add new boards.

I acknowledge that the admin has done a great work in organising or re-arranging the forum ever since there was a massive teleporting from the Bitcointalk. But I still agree with you that there's still more to be done and I believe that admin is not relenting on this.
I align so well with your suggestions above where someone will submit their quality posts in a particular thread and get kerma'd

I'm a bit lazy, and I think we should explore some simpler and easier-to-implement solutions to encourage new topic creation on AltcoinsTalks.

We all know topics are important because they generate discussions and make the forum more active, strengthening the forum value. Obviously, topic creators should be rewarded when they create valuable topics for the community.

Setting up an automated karma reward mechanism could be easy but also prone to abuse. So, I suggest that when we, high-ranking members, read a good quality new topic, we should manually give karma to the topic creator and leave a comment encouraging them to continue contributing to the forum.

I'm also waiting for the admin to implement plans to make karma more valuable.
