At the end of 2017, due to a hack, I lost a total of about 8-9 BTC worth of crypto assets. Part in BTC, the rest in various altcoins. Pretty stupid of me at the time, what's worse, in those days I was planning to convert at least 50% into fiat and diversify the rest of the assets in other ways.

       -      8-9btc is a lot of money mate, however I am sorry for your bad experience, and from what I see of you it seems like you handled the ordeal you went through correctly. But of course it wasn't easy during that time for sure.

But even though that happened, you have become more careful now and from what I see of you, what you have now or what you will have in the future is more than what you lost in the assets you hold now for the long-term.

If selling BTC in the past is considered a mistake, then you will be haunted by regret when you actually exit BTC and sell all your BTC whether it is in a bullish or bearish period.... selling BTC does not need to be regretted, we can buy again and not repeat the previous mistakes that occurred... try to hold for the next 5 years... if you get a profit, I'm sure you will also regret it because you feel that the profit obtained is not optimal, it could be because there was a higher peak before...

That's how humans are, having a greedy nature and still regretting every missed opportunity... but this natural nature has also happened to me, and I consider it normal for anyone to happen..

How much money have I lost in crypto??? Well... the amount is not greater than what I got, but the loss really taught me to gain experience in this crypto world.. we can consider it a sacrifice.

many people are trapped in greed, making them lose the opportunity to gain profit.
when seeing the crypto market that has a positive trend, I also sometimes have emotions like that, and it really makes me not focus on the initial plan.
The most important thing in investment is having a financial plan/goal, but that’s not all because there are so many things that can distract from your financial goals and plans, and greed happens to be one of the major things that causes a major distraction to investor and some even end up losing track of what their initial plans and goals really were.

I came to this satisfied currency world in 2017. Since then I have invested a lot of money I have lost a lot of money and I have calculated that the amount of loss is more to me. Because I don’t know much time I have invested in many coins because I have lost a lot. But now I’ve started to get some investment slowly, keeping my head cool. I see some benefits now. So I’ll say those who have come to new investments must have gained a lot of knowledge or lose your money. First you need to monitor different monitoring and invest in investing by choosing coins market caps verification, you can benefit and hope to go ahead with the advice of experienced people, InshaAllah.

It is not easy to have focus in investing as there are several factors that would help to deviate the investor from the right path of investments. At the points of view when all is well, people make decisions other than what they planned earlier. Some things which may benefit somebody in the short term are the things that can cause such a person to lose the horizon that should be the guideline for years, for instance, power and wealth, among others. Generalising action plans at this level means that the different strategies that are adopted follow through the set goals as intended to ensure that the measures put in practise accord with the set measures. However, this should not be the reason to take an impulsive decision that is likely to last for a short time before they change their mind again. In that manner, each step will have the right direction apart from being interceded by such things that may slow down the actual process.

Now that’s the actual problem there with having to change your initial plans which have actually been working for you, it makes you most time to take an impulsive decision that may likely lead you to losses. It’s not like it’s bad to reassess your plans and make some possible adjustments, but this should be when you eventually realize your plans are no longer as effective as intended, and then you may reassess and readjust them accordingly but still ensuring that the plans still suits perfectly with your financial goals. If your goals were for the long term then you should shift it to the short term.

When you have a plan, you shouldn't be greedy.
Complete the target and move on.
Because temptations don't lead anywhere good on the market that is volatile.

Disturbance is something that will come when we do something, and it can come in various ways. It can come from ourselves and it can come from other people.

But what happens most often is that it comes from ourselves, yes, usually greed is something that is very disturbing. Especially if we have been in this space for a long time, sometimes we feel great, even though in front of the market we are not that great.

Distractions are inevitable, especially when it comes to actualizing or working towards one’s future plans. And I’ve realized, that the greatest distractions usually comes from us, that’s why they say that the greatest challenges and demons a man can ever face is himself, and if a man actually learns to overcome the distractions that comes from himself, then he can actually overcome every other obstacle and distractions that comes from others.

I am sure many people gained a lot worth of money while playing in this very exciting cryptocurrency industry where huge opportunities and big risks collide...sometimes doing us some favor and sometimes also taking something from us. Through the years, I have had been exposed to scams, frauds and mistakes that in retrospect could have already made me rich at least in my country's standard. In my estimated, I think I lost at least $300K mostly in terms of potential earnings primarily because I let go of my 2 Bitcoin maybe around 5 years ago and made many mistakes (including getting into bad programs and projects) that cost me good amount of coins and tokens along the way.
To be Honest till now I haven't make much investment on cryptocurrency from the outside income on the real life.
But I have invested a good amount on it from my income from in this industry and this is quite not much than my earn. And another truth is I have already kind of recover that I that Bitcoin bull season. I have lost my investment on alternative coin but Bitcoin is keeping me on recover every time.

Bitcoin is indeed the safest coin to hold for the long term, my assets recovered due to the increase in the price of bitcoin and could cover my losses because I chose a new altcoin and ended up losing. Bitcoin has saved my investment, that's why it is the main coin of choice that I must have

Yes, when someone can win against themselves, then it is possible that when there is interference from outside we can overcome it very well.

The biggest enemy in life is yourself, but some people do not realize it and only focus on other things. Maybe most of us were like that at first, but over time we slowly began to realize that the problem was ourselves.

Yes, I also think that, our mindset should change on bitcoin like now we were only thinking about it as investment source but if we think differently the sources we mostly take for save our assets like on our traditional fiat currency on bank and that only decrease our asset value by the inflation.
But in bitcoin we don't have anything like that but yes it have the volatility and that's why here we have to invest that much what is very flexible for us and also what we can afford to hold for the long-term.

Bitcoin is most safest investment assets than other coins because easily recovery back to higher price and not difficult make new ATH price. Difference when holding altcoin we need much patience waiting for how recovering back and reach higher price than before when bitcoin price not stable yet or still at downtrend moment.
Many time, when holding altcoin after bitcoin price decreasing almost altcoin following for going down but difference when bitcoin success raise to higher price we can't get it at altcoin will raise up to.

Of course, if you only choose bitcoin and invest in a long time frame, if you don't loose gaurd your wallet security, you wouldn't run at loss. But when you feel that you want profits from different shitcoins, this when you have opened the door of losses for yourself. This is because you cannot know the right coin to buy that will give you profit in the long run. So it's better to stick to bitcoin alone.
