Bitcoin is indeed the safest coin to hold for the long term, my assets recovered due to the increase in the price of bitcoin and could cover my losses because I chose a new altcoin and ended up losing. Bitcoin has saved my investment, that's why it is the main coin of choice that I must have
Yes, I also think that, our mindset should change on bitcoin like now we were only thinking about it as investment source but if we think differently the sources we mostly take for save our assets like on our traditional fiat currency on bank and that only decrease our asset value by the inflation.
But in bitcoin we don't have anything like that but yes it have the volatility and that's why here we have to invest that much what is very flexible for us and also what we can afford to hold for the long-term.

Not an expert opinion, but I believe it's all about mindset! Those who are determined are expected to profit big in the long run. And those who panic sell will only make in coins...We have to understand the market. When bitcoin goes down all the other coins goes down. In this situation many will sell their alt to cover the losses or make the losses minimum. But we have to understand the money must be going somewhere. All these volumes doesn't disappears overnight. They will eventually end up in the market and that's how alt coins starts to pump, because the whales starts accumulating alts at that point, imo...

I will not deny your opinion.

But in this current time it is really quite hard to find out the altcoin which will going to give you a big profit in the long run. And IMO I think we shouldn't expect unrealistic amount even if we hold for long-term, that could be bitcoin and also the altcoin.
Becuase this is not a lottery ticket which will makes us like as the quick rich scheme by sitting on the chair. In the reality we always have to goes on the hardworkship to have success here we scenario is something like that.

And the thing you have said this is true that's how altcoin pump but not all the altcoin, and in the mean time when bitcoin market make dump some of them failed to struggling and even there will come altcoin season they will not be able to recover.

And in these days, in my around I haven't seen any people around me even you and me not having profited by the altcoin even though I recover by bitcoin.

Yes, when someone can win against themselves, then it is possible that when there is interference from outside we can overcome it very well.

The biggest enemy in life is yourself, but some people do not realize it and only focus on other things. Maybe most of us were like that at first, but over time we slowly began to realize that the problem was ourselves.
Yeah, a lot of people still have not come to the realization of this fact, even up till now. Honestly I used to be one of those guys, I never realized how much of a problem I was to myself until few years back. I had this crazy habit of procrastination, and I never really knew how much of a problem this was for me, I’d always thought that my major distractions were from people around me, until I decided to live a more private life and still, that didn’t solve the problem. And then I figured out that the major problem I was facing was actually coming from my habit of procrastination, then I worked on myself and after fixing myself, I realized that external distractions and problems are quite less.

I have not lost anything much in crypto, i have never been scammed or fell victim to scam, i know a lot about scammers, so i know how to avoid them. I also do not take risks by buying too many coins that i am unsure of, i rather like to stick to BTC which i trust and i hold it for the long run, so i can say my crypto journey has been smooth so far.

Very interesting, when it comes with knowledge and experience, maybe it can be avoided, but at the beginning, more or less, of course there is and it is impossible to be zero at all because the crypto world is very volatile. Finally, this is the most correct solution after all investment trials have been carried out, that BTC will always be an aggressive investment with aggressive growth too.

At the beginning I also experienced losses due to lack of knowledge and experience. You are right that crypto is very volatile, because at that time I could not predict and make analysis because I was influenced by the hype news at that time so that I finally experienced losses. However, after investing in crypto for a long time, I finally gained knowledge and experience and was able to trade and invest. I also agree that bitcoin will provide benefits for us and is safer to hold.

so now you can predict the market and guess the future price of Bitcoin?? Wow that's so cool, how easy it would be to make millions of dollars for you if you could do that, because you know the future and you have a very rare ability....

as far as I know, even a professional will continue to learn and learn even though he has been in trading for a long time... at first they also seemed to be someone who often lost, and now they can't guarantee continuous wins or even guarantee their predictions are 100% accurate... the market is really something that can't be predicted even for a professional... and to be able to make a profit, there is also a luck factor that comes along with the journey.

Losses are inevitable even for experienced people, however, with knowledge and experience, you get better over time because you will learn from your mistakes and improve. It's not possible for someone to predict every single move of the market, but why do you think people are profitable in trading? It's because they have learned a lot of things, and they can now, at least, predict the market sometimes through analysis that they have learned over time.

If someone says that they are able to predict the market every single time, they will be lying to you, but I think the guy above didn't say that. He learned and is now better at it, and that's how things work in general in real life as well. When we start doing something without any experience, we might make more mistakes, but over time, the mistakes will start to become less and less.

Yes, it is impossible or impossible for us to predict the market 100% accurately, and even if we can predict the price, we never know when it will happen, whether it is a week, a month, a year and so on. However, at least with knowledge we can know what we should do.

I agree with you, the luck factor is also one that we cannot separate. Maybe the difference is that we get luck because of our knowledge and skills.

With knowledge and experience we can make analysis and predictions, although sometimes our predictions are wrong. but we can learn from those mistakes and seek profit with other strategies.
It is indeed difficult to make predictions, but with experience at least we can approach accuracy. and minimize losses.

Actually success in life never come easily, in every success there were lots of history, there was thousands nights/days that people do struggle and then they get success.
And yes were some people become rich in short period but it is only possible on the lottery and the gambling where all depends on luck. Trading investing also need lots of knowledge for becoming successful otherwise we will be in debt just like a addicted gambler do.

I think those are actually end up losing the most in crypto are actually either those that invest in meem coins and some other shit coins or people that trade very volatile coins. As for the case of bitcoin investments you hardly end up in losses even if you make use of the DCA strategy which is actually a slower approach to investing in bitcoin.

The crypto space is very vast and people lose everyday in fact I think it's safe to say that the rate of wins and losses in the crypto space cancels out each other.

Now the rate of wins and losses on the crypto space also depends on the trading options used by traders, eg future and margin options are exclusively different: it involves taking leverage at certain levels which may result to losses if not well manage.
The higher the leverage, the higher the chances of losses, and obviously these are the categories of traders that makes trading look like losses are equal to gains. In my opinion, there are more gains than losses.
In addition, the rate of losses or gains may not be equal for traders on the spot market options if the spot traders has good knowledge of TA/FA analysis of the market. Spot traders who are patience will always win, it may not amount to complete losses on the spot traders if market price breaks below their entry positions, but if they hold on to their positions until market rebound, they will certainly make huge profit.

Without much of a debate I like to always rule it out as risk to reward ratio basically what traders try to do by improving their analysis is to increase their reward while reducing their risk as much as possible. Nevertheless basically in trading the more you risk the higher the profit that comes if it ends up as a valid trade.

Capital is one of the biggest setbacks and also determination of how profitable you would be because trading with very little capital can be very frustrating as risk management is also very difficult too.

Re: How much money have you lost in the crypto industry?
« Reply #104 on: February 18, 2025, 06:41:33 PM »
With knowledge and experience we can make analysis and predictions, although sometimes our predictions are wrong. but we can learn from those mistakes and seek profit with other strategies.
It is indeed difficult to make predictions, but with experience at least we can approach accuracy. and minimize losses.

If you want to do everything in crypto and you want to be safe, it's better you do your risk moderately, don't risk money that will choke you later, do it moderately so I that when you see unpredictable outcome, you can be able to handle it without any pain or anything that many result into any financial situations, sometimes you can't predict the crypto market.

Experience is everything but there are some experiences that you are going to see that will make you go back to trenches, like the experience will be so tough that you might not be able to bounce back, this is why we have to make sure we take calculated risk every time.
