If I can suggest that Admin or moderators pin the news about voting on top so that everyone can see this easily.
We did something similar in another forum and it made significant difference with activity in voting topic.
I already voted btw but maybe I will make some changes in future.

I usually just go straight to recent threads since I believe I might have read the pinned threads before

It is interesting that even though the members are aware of the contest, they still refrain from voting.
Everyone wants new signature campaigns and to make money on the forum, but it is often difficult to contribute to the progress of the forum.

Well the karma criteria is my own personal limitation and not noticing it before.
I'm not complaining about the karma limit mind you
I believe it helps in reducing spam and give avenue to active users but I think maybe is one of the reason some haven't.
And another been, many are still relatively new and can't really tell who fits each category.
Well it's a first of its kind soul turn up wouldn't be the best.
It would be nice to make it 60 days like BTT for more exposure.
Not many are active on their local board but everybody gaze on the news feed.
Maybe a catchy title like
Vote!!!Vote!!!Vote!!!
@Freemind would such be possible and on the badge would it be made for all category but with different title?

It is questionable whether pinning threads is the best choice. I also think that old users don't pay attention to pinned topics because they think they've already seen them.

then we need to talk about it around, in local threads for example or in other threads where people look
This way the word gets out and people participate, since the event is new and nobody expects it to have been created
while on bitcointalk for example everyone expects the event every year

What is going on with lazy AltcoinsTalks forum members?
I can see only 11 people voted for Community Awards so far, and I am wondering why others are not doing that instead of posting silly things all the time!
This is especially addressed to old and reputable forum members...

Please be patient. Note that this is the first time an event of this nature has been held on the forum, and members are not used to it. Users will vote, but as I said, since this is the first time, the voting time could be extended, as I mentioned in one of my previous posts.

Personally, I have two categories clear, but I still need to think carefully about the rest, which is why I haven't voted yet, and I imagine the same could happen to other users.

I actually expected this to an extent though because it's almost pretty much the same with the outcome on Bitcointalk too because if you check, compared to the number of eligible members there the vote count was relatively small though.

As fir the translation I actually skipped it apologies on that because I've been busy though it ought to had been done sonner. Nevertheless I guarantee it would be ready by tomorrow latest.

Thank you so much. Do the translation when you have time, don't worry. I think the important thing is that local boards (although some have little traffic) also see the things that happen in the forum on a "global scale", that way, with patience, more users will be encouraged to participate.

Alright I've been able to actually pull off the translation and though I had been quite busy I was able to get some free time to get it done. Anyways here is the link ;

Hopefully this would bring more interest to the voting. As for the time window too I think an extension would be great since it's the first contest of it's kind here on altcoins talks.

I am more than patient and this is not my project, but there is a clear deadline for voting even if extended like I suggested, there is no unlimited chill time for this.
But if you want to help so much you can donate some coins and increase the reward, maybe that would attract more members

I have a similar attitude as dkbit98 in this case. I'm fed up with the inexplicable lack of support from other forum members for this kind of contest. Such a disinterested approach will certainly not help in the further development of the forum, including the introduction of new services with paid signature campaigns. That is what most people are interested in, and it seems to be the only interest.
This is a very bad signal for any future sponsor.

It may sound a little harsh, but that's the reality! There are many those who came here only for paid signatures. And after they saw, the campaigns were limited, and all the slots were already filled, many left the forum, or stopped being online at all. This type of attitude won't bring the forum anything good.

You guys may have noticed up until now, there were no OFNP campaigns, and the activity declined. But a few days ago, two sig campaigns were open and user were coming out of nowhere. Those who were inactive for several months also woke up and submitted their application. This only proves that they are only here for the sigs not the forum. If the forum runs out of sigs one day, those who teleported/those who originally wasn't from the forum, will leave. Of course, this is my personal opinion.

Anyway, I have done my part for my local section. Posted about this event but didn't get as much activity as much as I had hoped for. I even urged them to vote for the event but haven't seen any interested mind. Some said they were busy, some said they forgot about that.

Another reason I can think of that the event didn't get enough exposure and that's why the activity was so little. Maybe they aren't aware...

exactly, since it's the first time, nobody is used to this event and probably won't have even thought about who to vote for
extending the time seems right to me, we could bring it from 40 to 60 days in order to give everyone time to think about who to vote for and to get used to the idea of ​​the event on this fantastic forum

From what I see, we have a very different idea of ​​what patience is. I think I should remind you that the change this forum has brought about in one year has been tremendous, and some will say it's not a big deal, but for those of us who have lived through previous years, it certainly is. For that reason (and others) I think patience is crucial, many things must fall into place until all forum users vote in an event like this, the first of its kind.
