Why should it be legalized for all countries in the world, do you aim to increase your own portfolio by owning bitcoin before that happens, or do you really want mass adoption for Bitcoin?

In fact, even though bitcoin is not officially announced as something legal in a country, p2p transactions in related countries must also occur... the demand for bitcoin is indeed quite large, but not as big as what you are talking about... if the demand is that big, the price should not be $80k anymore, right? Don't exaggerate Bitcoin.. moreover when it is legal in 195 countries in the world, won't that just make Bitcoin even rarer to transact? Yes because the price will be very expensive... even small transactions will cost a lot... and people tend to use it as an investment instrument, not to transact anymore.

That would be the next step for BTC, in my opinion - adaptation to become a currency to be used, because currently, it's an ultimate store of value, but clearly - we can't be saying that people would be able to use it as for day-to-day transactions.

It is very simple to legalize bitcoin in all the countries if the citizens want it. And all they have to do is to sponsor bitcoin enthusiast in the Presidential Seat and make sure that he win the election and once he wins the election, he has to appoint another bitcoin enthusiast to be his special adviser, and other cabinet members like Ministers should also be crypto friendly people then with that Bitcoin will be legalize in many countries.

And if the candidate is not a bitcoin advocate before the crypto whales should sponsor him to win the election and that was what Elon Musk and others did in the America recent election and they are in the corridor of power. And things are changing in US now. Though they have not officially adopted bitcoin as a legal tender.
This idea won't work for a number of reasons. First, not every country has big whales or Elon Musk, and not every country has BTC enthusiast candidates for presidency, most of the developing countries are under IMF rules.

Therefore the big step has already been completed which was the country of IMF having a crypto friendly president and the US has that now therefore IMF is forcing all the countries to change their policies.

Re: What do we need to do to get Bitcoin legalized??
« Reply #33 on: April 16, 2025, 11:50:06 PM »
It can't be legalized in all countries due to some regulation issues so maybe we just need majority of countries legalizing Bitcoin so that whenever we are in we can use it or we can buy and sell without any problem. Though here in my country Bitcoin isn't illegal but hopefully the regulation in the future won't affect the smoothness of Bitcoin trading in here.
Indeed there isn’t any consensus regarding the believably of opening a financial system operated on technology, which is open and available to cross borders of different countries. However, in the case of Bitcoins, it offers certain possibilities that cannot be immediately implemented by some legal bodies and monetary systems. Some of the countries opt for careful stance because they are concerned that an abuse of events which took many years to achieve or destabilisation of the process may occur. However, when a country has not banned Bitcoin, it means that they do not pressure us not to use it. It is understandable why one could expect regulatory matters to remain friendly, much as the users base continues to expand and several types of transactions start to experience the positive impact. This is already the case in most places, because legalisation leads to the creation of more efficient cross border transaction opportunities, provided there are rules to be followed side by side.

There is a difference between what the OP is citing as What do we need to do to get Bitcoin legalized?? and the fact that Bitcoin has not been banned in many countries therefore in that sense it already legal (even if it is not being used as legal tender to use for payments in shops akin to cash or banking cards).

Mate always things won't work according to our expectation and this is also not like we want it to be happen and i should happen because when it is come to the country level, there are a lot of thing to consider for the country development, i mean its impacts and contribution for the country econmy and development. I personally believe that there should be a seprat team that should make some productive rules before making thr crypto space legal in the country to avoide ilegal activites.

Other than that anything which is happeing in the america in the current time all that because of big money which has played its big role for the selection of Trump as president.

Yes, it is true that Bitcoin in our country is not prohibited to be traded and invested, but it is still not allowed as a means of payment. I am happy to live in this country, even though there is a tax on income for our income from crypto it is not a problem.
Even if there should be a chance that Bitcoin can be accepted as payment tool, it seems rather small chance. Revising the basic laws in our country is something difficult, it can be considered for a rare case only. I personally assume it is not a very big deal as long as we have local exchanges and we still can trade Bitcoin legally there. We can convert the Bitcoin and altcoins into our national currency in those local exchanges. By the way, taxes on crypto assets becomes a common matter nowadays. I think it is unavoidable, but it is also the sign that government admits the existence of crypto. As long as the amount of taxes is reasonable, I think there is no problem with the taxes.

I think it's legal as an investment vehicle in most countries but not as a legal tender. If you're asking for the latter, it's tricky or not as simple as doing this or that because the lawmakers are also involved. The problem with these old heads is that they want to keep it traditional as long as they can.

As it stands, there is nothing else to be done for Bitcoin to be legalized. Bitcoin has long-term proven itself to be worth legalizing by countries. Any country that chooses to legalize now or later, that will be fine. That wouldn't stop Bitcoin from spreading across the globe as an investment that should be trusted for the long term.

We know that this currency has become increasingly popular in almost every country so far, so it is very necessary to completely legalize it in every country. I think that the banks of every country should do research on the countries where it is illegal so far because even if it becomes common, it will have to adapt to it. So since it has been legalized in almost many countries, the government of the countries that have not been legalized so far should do some research on them.

Well, since we want Bitcoin to be legalized in all countries. I think since it is used more or less by everyone or in many countries it is also used as an investment and transaction. Since there is a good demand for Bitcoin by people, I think if it is legalized, everyone will probably use Bitcoin as an investment and transaction. But is there anything we can do for this. Which will help legalize Bitcoin.

What are your comments.??

This bitcoin we are talking about has moved big time for a while now and this is all thanks to how the early adopters and enthusiast of bitcoin never gave up on it and continue to preach good of it despite the many obstacles they’ve faced to let go off it and won’t be a sustainable means of saving money or to be used for transactions. Bitcoin has risen and cleared many doubts and expectations of people, how far it has come now really shows how effective it has been and will continue to develop within the financial sector.

Bitcoin has grown far beyond which how we feel or what we do now that can affect its nature, it is the one selling itself and people are happy to be part of it. It can continue to grow itself now even though we don’t need to do anything to come about its legalisation. It’s a matter of time and when it’s actually the time for it, we will see it happen like we never anticipated for it. Legalization will happen but it’ll definitely come with its framework when the government is ready to legalize it.

This idea won't work for a number of reasons. First, not every country has big whales or Elon Musk, and not every country has BTC enthusiast candidates for presidency, most of the developing countries are under IMF rules.
Yes, I agree. Because sometimes in deciding certain regulations, the influence of people in the country is also quite decisive. So, if in a country there are no certain people who are indeed influential enough to legalize Bitcoin, yes it will be quite difficult. Moreover, only relying on suggestions or demands from ordinary citizens, which may only be a few percent.

all of that is sometimes related to the political interests of several parties, which can benefit each other. Yes, although not all are like this, but there are some. So, it will be quite difficult to equalize all countries to legalize Bitcoin or crypto in general.

There has been a lot of news about Bitcoin and even crypto becoming quite popular among young people in my country and the government provides regulation as a commodity asset for crypto, this is a sufficient regulation is needed even though it does not fully allow crypto to be used as a legal means of payment.

But even so, this is a great first step to make crypto users more freely trading crypto without fear of whether it's official or not.

Indeed, there are many positives on regulations that have been set by the government on crypto as a commodity asset and most especially on the way the user in the cryptographic is feeling safer when undertaking transactions. While the law does not yet include a full possibility of using crypto as a legal form of payment, this is a really good step because this way further growth and proper formation gradual legislation requirements are provided more transparent and clear for investors and users. This has done away with the vulnerability of dealing with an outlawed crypto which is traded in the market, and this creates the path towards the creation of a more transparent market of crypto. As for me, this step will also contribute to the further expansion of the audience that actively uses cryptocurrencies, including the younger generation, which is interested in investing and making purchases with the help of digital assets.
