I have given up plenty money by not converting alts profit (most of these alts don't even exist anymore) into BTC (I also like ETH), so yeah I agree with your advise.

All the crypto assets you mentioned tend to have lower risk than other assets... that's very reasonable, considering that currently only strong coins consistently provide long-term profits... some coins with very crazy volatility tend to have the possibility of collapsing quickly...

But keep in mind, that assets with low volatility in the cryptocurrency world are still considered to have crazier price fluctuations when compared to stocks... Bitcoin has potential for the long term, even though it has reached more than $ 100k this year, it is possible that its price will be even higher one day... there are still many institutions that have not adopted Bitcoin, and even MSTR which is currently accumulating Bitcoin is always thirsty and wants to continue buying as much BTC as possible... the demand will always be there and this is the reason why Bitcoin is very suitable as a long-term hedge asset.... the number one reason why bitcoin is considered one of the best options for long term investments is its fixed supply this is what makes it a lot safer than fiat since fiat can be printed endlessly it is very susceptible to inflation but bitcoin is not as long as the supply is diminishing and the demand rises up its price can always go higher

this is basically what makes it so attractive and i am confident that $100k is not its highest just yet bitcoin has not even been around for full two decades and yet has reached $100k+ in value already so i am very confident about bitcoin no matter its volatile tendencies

When it comes to long-term holding and certain profit yield if one can be patient, Bitcoin undoubtedly remains number 1. No matter the market fluctuations, it will always rise up again and give profits as it always does. But when it comes to altcoins, it is safer to holding the top list of alts, as these has been tested, except one wants to make jokes with his/her funds by randomly having in possession numerous coins, with expectation of it skyrocketing in the near future. This most times do turn out well, but on rare cases.

As a business-oriented person, the goal is to make profit and minimize the risk/losses in every possible means, and when that comes to the crypto industry, it means putting above 60% of one's investment into Bitcoin, and diversity the rest, or still, put 90% and keep the remaining 10% for maintenance.

Putting Bitcoin first because you think it will be worth more in long run is common idea among people in crypto world. Your advice to buy good amount of Bitcoin first before buying other cryptocurrencies is good way to handle risk. Other cryptocurrencies you chose ETH BNB SOL and DOT are generally seen as strong and popular. People mostly think these are more good than newer cryptocurrencies.

And for meme coins it is good to focus on that ones which have survived different ups and downs in market like Doge Pepe Bonk and Shiba. Because they have lasted longer they have stronger community.

Actually Bitcoin is the best investment opportunity anyday, it has a very good returns on the long run, and should be best investment on the crypto space.
However, diversification to some notable altcoins is also good, nevertheless, there are no indications for bear market except you have some market analysis that proves otherwise.

If is not satisfactory you have to keep multiplying it by continues investment so that the amount you will have should be enough to make you do another diversification if you want to, though we are on the same shoe since I have not also gotten portfolio I have in mind, though it all depends on the amount you are hoping to get and how long you intend to achieve that. However this bear market was actually the time I made extra budget to upgrade more on the unite of amount of accumulation but I'm back to normal accumulation now.

The fact that you said to us that we should have a "fair" portion of Bitcoin in their portfolio for me is enough already. When I say "fair", I would say around 70-80% though, and the remaining 10% will be going to those top altcoins while the remaining 10% will be going to those other coins aside from meme coins.

Nothing to say, but I believe most of the investors are doing this way of building their portfolio for safety purposes. On the flip side, there are some though where they have more risk appetite that's why they are allocating lesser on Bitcoin while more on altcoins. Some are even buying and holding low market-cap coins JUST IN CASE. At the end of the day, it all comes to how much risk are we willing to take.

I think that it is also correct that you should buy in a down market but I think this should be in proportion to one’s ability and goals. In some cases, you should avoid pushing yourself to develop a portfolio if the pressure will pile up stress. Every time you decide to double down or just get back on the accumulation phase you are not wrong as long as you’re on the right track. I think these characteristics are somewhat of a long game and that the day will come when the careful and thorough approach will be rewarded.

Yeah, I'm on the same page as you. BTC always deserves a spot in the portfolio and should make up at least 50% of the capital. Besides that, ALTs are also very appealing, and investors can choose top coins for safety while still making big gains from their growth.

I'm not a fan of the all-in BTC or all-in ALTs idea, it's too extreme and not flexible enough. Of course, every investor has their own risk appetite, and they'll act according to what they think is best and most suitable. Personally, I focus on BTC during market recovery and gradually shift my attention to ALTs when the market is ready to enter a bullrun.

I also prefer just bitcoin for long term investment. I also prefer altcoins but I see them like I am gambling because of how they are they are more volatile and failing to get to all-time high makes me to prefer just bitcoin. I can trade the altcoins or prefer a very short term holding for them when their prices have fallen significantly and after a long term bear market which their prices fall more.

I think there's no person that understand the cryptocurrency industry that'll not want to stay intact with Bitcoin, yea you've mentioned long-term as your reason for preferring Bitcoin as your best coin but for me it's the long-term and trust that's attached to Bitcoin investment, the anonymity is also a good reason for me, we are in an era in which many individual out their are always seeking fro ways to be free from government control and also doing everything possible to prevent their identity to be made public because of what they believe in, so I think Bitcoin has come to some monetary problems to an extent.

Yes, I agree that an investment wallet should include Bitcoin and major altcoins that have proven their presence strongly in the market. The largest portion of the wallet should also be Bitcoin.

As for altcoins, I would prefer to hold ETH, BNB, SOL, and SUI because I see them as strong and promising coins that can grow significantly in the future.

As for memecoin, I don't think it's wise to keep it in a wallet long-term, even if it looks good.

I also prefer diversification, it’s the best strategy. Bitcoin is the best option for long term investments. Diversifying into top Layer 1s like ETH and SOL for long term is also a great idea as they both have strong ecosystems. Lately, memecoins have also caught my attention especially with the how much they’ve been growing especially the resilient ones, Doge and Shiba Inu. Personally, I’d be on the lookout for emerging narratives too, just in case the next big one shows up.

It's a wrong idea to diversify into assets of the same line. That's as you are investing in bitcoin, bitcoin is the king and unique of all so why do you want to diversify into altcoins that are been controlled by bitcoin price movement. If bitcoin dips, alcoins dip and that's a double loss. It's good that you diversify into a different asset like gold, stock, bond or real estate. The main reason for diversity is to spread out your wealth into various assets so that if one of the isn't doing well in price, the other can balance the loss.

Every market has their ups and downs, stock, gold, commodity, FX normally faces dips and they still crashes overtimes.
Crypto, especially the Bitcoin market is very volitile but also has the potential to bounce back, and it is not a bad ideas to diversify investments into other crypto assets despite the fact that Bitcoin control the market. Many altcoins experiences separate bullish momentum, though not often, but many notable altcoins, at certain times, break out from Bitcoin dominance with massive pumps.
