I also prefer altcoins but I see them like I am gambling because of how they are they are more volatile and failing to get to all-time high makes me to prefer just bitcoin. My main priority when it comes to buying and hoarding cryptocurrency is Bitcoin cause it's much more preferable to other ones when it comes to long-term goals, I'll advise everyone to own a fair portion of bitcoin in their portfolio but then nothing stops anyone from diversify to other cryptocurrencies after they've accumulated a fair amount of Bitcoin as well as having spare cash for diversification, anyways if am to diversify to Layer 1 alts, ETH, BNB, SOL and maybe DOT would be the ones I'll focus more on then if I'm to pick memecoins I'll go for the ones that's survived several circles, memecoins like, Doge, Pepe and Bonk, share your thoughts about this.

Give up the memecoins, it's better to get into bitcoin with a bigger share of the portfolio. On diversification, you have to be careful not to overdo it because diversification sometimes may be the end of investment, as you may not be able to handle and accommodate the risk that comes with it.

If you must spread your investment, don't choose so many coins.

I made this mistake in my early days as a crypto enthusiast, and to be frank majority of the tokens I bought then are still lying in my wallet, all scams with no value. It was a big waste, as I thought of the benefit of diversifying my crypto investment at that time, as a newbie in the crypto space.  I did not know of it then, and I made a big mistake with crypto investment, but now it is not that way anymore. I am wiser and smarter not to make such a silly mistake anymore. I did followed your plan, I accumulated BTC a year, held them, book 50% profit, and used the 50% from that profit to invest in alts, lost 50% of that amount haha, then made some profit, market dumped again, I booked more from BTC, used that to increase my investments in alts, and market dumped again, did the same thing, market dumped, to the point, where BTC was at $76k.

So you can imagine how much lose I am in right now. So, the point I am clearing here is, if we have accumulated, we making profit, we booked profit even, never become greedy like me, even how golden the opportunity is, stick to your plans, although I did stick to my plans which was to sell and invest in alts, but I end up in lose but there is a hope for me still.

It’s easy to understand people’s excitement for Bitcoin. The constant gain in value of bitcoin in the past years definitely makes it attractive. For me, it’s best if I don’t quickly declare something the best simply because it’s popular or ranked top. The volatile nature of the cryptocurrency sector is well-known, and therefore, that which appears to be doing well at some point can plummet sharply in value in a short space of time. Furthermore, the adoption of new technologies is growing and there are even some younger layer 1 projects that are tinkering with better technical methods than Bitcoin. Despite the value I perceive to Bitcoin, I question its ability to stay in the market. As all goes by way of the actual benefit, security features, and endurance over time, as opposed to recent performance, this is what counts.

I just want to add to what you said dude, where having plans also measures our ability to think and be effective in the future, whether the decisions we have made and the steps we have taken are right, which we think will benefit not only ourselves but also our loved ones.
