Can altcoin survive without bitcoin?

We certainly know, that altcoin exists because of bitcoin, but can altcoin survive without bitcoin? or if maybe bitcoin suddenly becomes worthless, can altcoin still survive?
because somehow bitcoin can be number one on the market because the sale of altcoin will be exchanged for bitcoin.
if I conclude, altcoin can survive without bitcoin, What do you think?

I think yes, it is not everything depends on bitcoin. It is just the most paired coin in all exchanges and their are the backboned of the crypto industry. But I think altcoin can do good even without it. But we must accept that the market will crash hard when this happen and will return too normal when the altcoin already managed to stand alone.

I don't think that altcoin can survive without bitcoin because altcoin is behind on bitcoin except there is another coin that can beat bitcoin in the price and the popularity. But I don't think that there is any coin that can beat bitcoin because bitcoin is the leader in the cryptocurrency.

Certainly impossible because bitcoin and altcoins is directly and indirectly depends on each other. When bitcoin price reducing then the altcoins prices also reducing, and increase with the Bitcoin. So impossible to survive without bitcoin.
