Why do people get scammed in ICOs?

Some  get  scammed  in  ICO  because  they  are  always  very  desperate  about  the  profit  they  are  going  to  make  in  the  exchange.

Most people get scammed because they fail to study about the project before joining. Some scam or fake projects are very obvious to detect from the website or whitepaper as the information they provide about the team do not exist or incoherent information.
However, a very few scam projects are difficult to detect because they are strategically developed.

What you have mention is the choosing of a legit ICO but what will still make people in fall into scam ICOs is the greed in human and lazy in doing research on the ICO they are investing in.

Everyone wants to make more than enough for himself - the more reason why we join different projects and do our secular works as well. I don't think greediness is the cause of people running into scam project.
I agree with you when you say some people or investors are too lazy to research into the ICO before joining but do you also understand that there are some scam projects which can go undetected irrespective of how thorough an investor may research into?

I ever joined an ICO that looked very promising in the beginning, the information of the team pretty good, and thy also offered a nice product but in the end the project never announced a new update and the team disappeared. According to this case, we cannot judge a scam project at the beginning before they leaved us with no updates. So, it is hard to determine if it is a scam or legit ICO.

Friend, you have not hit the nail at the head (ie. you have not followed the discussion). These are some of the reasons while people get scammed. People failed to study the following aspects of the projects eg.
1. Core team of the projects
2.White papers
3.Roadmap
4. Online Presence. Etc.

Yes I see for now too many ICOs are scam. We must be carreful to choose ICO. Learn the white paper and the man behind the project.

Many people get scammed in ICOs because they are not really selective and do not complex analysis. They should do deeply research or analysis to find out the information on a project. We all must remember that the fraudsters and scammers become smarter. So, we need to change our way in the analysis to be more selective.
