Since most people believe that pre-season matches are considered not be a serious match for people to expect a club to always win, we will actually see how consistent Manchester City will be on there upcoming pre-season matches against Celtic, though we understand that in pre-season matches clubs test there new strategies and patterns to know what will work more better for them but that doesn't mean that they will not be consistent.

Yes, this is just for warming up, even some of the top clubs will not be that serious about this match, because it is prone to injury. Therefore, many top clubs don't seem to push too hard to win. For this Man City match, I didn't watch it. But it is true that statistically, the difference in the position of the ball and the attack is not that different. This makes the two of them compete quite well. especially for their opponent, Celtic, this does not make this small club become too inferior and hopeless just because they are having a friendly match against the top club in the EPL.

Yep. Why Man City must be shocked with the result? They only used most the players of second tier squad in the match. It totally doesn't reflect the strength of Man City squad. If they play with full squad and they play seriously, I am 100% sure they will win the match. Moreover, they have nothing to be achieved on the match, so they only enjoy the match and don't seriously think to win the match. Well, don't be so serious with a pre-season match!!

Not every big club but some big clubs experienced it. It actually depends on the coach, whether they will play seriously in the match or not. If they won't play seriously, they will mostly use second tier players and never order the player to win the match. Some clubs may not show their strength during the pre-season matches. It is also a part of their tactic to win the next season competition.

Pep Guardiola have interested promote youth players on pre season matches, its have 9 young players filled the starting line when Manchester City defeating by Celtic last match over 3-4.
Not problem for Pep Guardiola with bad result because he only think who the next potential young players will get promote next season and get more minutes playing.
I am enthusiast with Pep Guardiola tactician, he brave give more minutes playing to young players on pre season match without huge pressure must win.  Seems easily for Manchester City get young potential players promote to senior team every season and make top performance.

Yep. Pre-season is just entertaining for the fans and a friendly match
Pep is a great coach who prepares everything well before the real competition starts. Pre-season is the final evaluation for players and coaches to prepare all the scenarios needed to achieve maximum results in the match in the competition they will participate in.
So, relax, enjoy the season, and let Pep do his job. Judge him when his team loses in the real competition.

Then Chelsea also got a draw in the pre-season match against Wrexham. And this was Enzo's first debut as a coach there and for several young players who had just arrived at the club. Even though the result was a draw, I saw that Chelsea played very well.

Lesley Ugochukwu scored his first goal for Chelsea against Wrexham in Santa Clara.
The French midfielder composed a left-footed finish into the far corner helping Chelsea equalize late in the game. This goal marks a promising start for Lesley in his Chelsea career.
The Blues cooking, there are improvements that the Maresca system brings to the team but I doubt the food will be done.

Very often I see things like this, because they are not really serious in the pre-season match, where they only test the readiness of the strategy and also the players they have.

Many teams get negative results during the pre-season match, but when they are in the real competition they can show their real game which can perform well and also consistently. So the pre-season cannot be used as a benchmark for a team's performance when in the competition.

It looks like Arsenal has succeeded in bringing in another new player in the transfer market. And this time Arsenal brought in Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna.
