Is that T-shirt from Coinomize.biz? Wow!!! Nice one. But scammers can produce things like this and when you scam it it will link to their site and if the design are similar then you won't know the official website so the best way to avoid all that is the signature from the participants. Because the signature is personally design by the company and scammers can change the code. Except the account is compromised.
This t-shirt is indeed good and limited edition, because I myself made the design and then printed it.
There is a project for Coinomize t-shirts that I have proposed in the past on the Bitcointalk Forum, and some people have also made them sponsored by Coinomize.

You will not find a scam link on the My QR Code T-shirt, but yes be careful it is necessary and don't trust anyone, it's better to double-check before entering any link.

Do most people click signature links though? Personally, rarely do that because I remember the clearnet link for most services that I used, used a bookmark, or double check with other sources like social media and so on. Some users might disable signatures visibility too so they definitely don't think signature links are how they access new services. I guess that's not really Coinomize problem to solve since there's no way to force them to view our signatures.
I also don't click on the link in the signature, but in any case the link in the signature must be correct because some people are interested and log in using the link in the signature. If there is an error or it is not an official link, then it is necessary to recheck. As you say, "Being careful is not bad"

I find it hard to believe that a scammer would design a QR code shirt to trick people even if they can hire some random people to wear that. Then again I guess being careful is not bad.

Scammer that have the time to create a phishing website and also pay write article for the site so they can insert their phishing link and scam those that might use the link in that article to get to the website, don’t think they won’t be able to recreate a T-shirt like that? It won’t be that difficult to do and also get someone to model for them while wearing the shirt. It’s never too much to be careful when you’re using a service that involves you’re funds.

I know a few people who have their signature disabled but for me I like accessing a site either through signature link or directly from their Ann thread (depending on the site that I’m about to access) if it’s a site that I frequent the Ann thread I prefer to go through the link in the app but if it’s not one that I frequent I prefer looking for a user that is wearing the signature and then accessing the site through it.

The reason why I do this is because I don’t want a situation where I’ll search for the site and then be presented with a phishing link - so to avoid the at I just go through a trusted source (the Ann).

Just imagine how "smart" the scammer's decision would be if they wore a QR code on their back that leads to their scam scheme. How long would it take someone to figure out who cheated him?
Fraudsters like to work online because it's much easier to hide their tracks.

Anybody can make a shirt with pretty much whatever logo they want and then sell it like this:

1. You go to to Printify or any other site that designs shirts and you paste the Coinomize logo, or any other logo you want, on the middle of the shirt.
2. Then you export the product to a store like Etsy or something like that or even better, if you want a specialized audience like crypto people, to Shopify.
3. ? ? ?
4. Profit

The only reason I haven't been doing this is because none of these stores will do payouts to the country where I live in right now, and I still don't have a US address (reeee  >:()

+1 for you. Nice explanation. Some people take things for granted and they don't know to what extent scammers can go and scam their targeted audience. Like a story I heard, if someone sold an airport from his house to another person in another country then there is nothing is impossible for them(scammers) to do. We have heard a lot of stories in the world. And I don't think adding QR code is not a big deal for those guys and that is why we should be careful whenever we see abnormal things. We have really deviated from the main track. Let come back to the topic of the thread.

Yeah, I'm not saying signature links are not important, that would be naive. I'm just wondering if people clink links for new service because signatures or avatar. Personally, I usually find new interesting service through their avatar or personal text, maybe forum banner if we count that. Sadly we can't customize the link when people click our avatar. Maybe we can alleviate some phishing if we have an avatar with readable and clickable link that redirect to Coinomize website directly. Not sure if that's going to be effective, but having more option isn't a bad thing.

Well we don't know the extend of this scammers, we have seen them pull this kind of tricks with the QR code before. And there are a lot of videos too in some stores wherein scammers trying to change the QR code.

I believed so, we don't know that data but I was thinking that maybe campaign managers or the project themselves has access to it like the impressions of each signature participants.

I can't imagine a single person getting scammed with this method because first they would have to take out their phone and scan a code on somebody's shirt.

An uncomfortable situation at best.

And that's assuming that the crypto they are going to mix with is even on their phones. A security-conscious person would always keep it inside a hardware wallet.

In my opinion, this is what signature companies on forums are for.
Persons who are interested in using Bitcoin mixers (and this is a very useful part of the overall infrastructure of the first cryptocurrency) can click on the forum member’s signature, go to coinomize.biz and start using the mixer.
Scammers have become smarter, some of them write articles and posts in other forums with phishing links and try to make them appear first in Google search. You should check the message and keep the public key, it is the only guarantee that your money will not be sent to scammers.

Yes, unfortunately that's true, but with the latest Google updates most of the trash links are disappearing. But this will always be a problem nowadays.

What Smartprofit said is the best way to avoid scamming by clicking on the participants signature links to navigate to the website and mix your coins safely. Because there are related websites out there created by scammers.

But with a minute of Google search you can avoid this and that's why we have this forum to find the right domains quickly.

Yes, that's true, if someone wants to be safe from phishing links then that person should visit a mixer directly by clicking on the signature of the participants. And, another good way to be safe from those phishing sites is to go for examplens thread about genuine mixers.
It is safer to be careful and see if the link is the same as the official link on the main thread or not.
I will probably keep the main link well in my notes as well as my Bitcoin address to make copying easier.

Or you can scan the Qr Code on my back ( optional ) ::)

We really like it, we know it from the other forum, but unfortunately it was over straight away.

We don't think so either, but we make sure that phishing domains disappear quickly when we find them and we are constantly looking for them, if anyone finds one please send us a PM with it. But there will always be scammers, so always keep your head on.

I read about client-side DNS verification on another forum, but the tech is not ready yet afaik. If it becomes easy to implement I guess Coinomize can easily implement it, though based on my understanding it needs a proactive approach from the user instead of the hosting/domain provider. CMIIW.
Oh my, this is far beyond my knowledge and more technicalities so I wouldn't say that much about it.  ;D

A collective effort of the community needs to be done. While Google thinks that with every update they do, they'd clean some mess that will protect companies like coinomize.biz, still, it's true that it remains as a problem and that's why efforts from each individual that do care to the business is very much appreciated.

It is safer to be careful and see if the link is the same as the official link on the main thread or not.
I will probably keep the main link well in my notes as well as my Bitcoin address to make copying easier.

Or you can scan the Qr Code on my back ( optional ) ::)
A good idea to help Coinomize reach potential users, but I would trust my bookmarks more. Every satoshi is precious, and I don't want to make any mistakes. Also, I'm used to using Coinomize on my laptop instead of a smartphone, so I can't scan QR codes. At least, I've never tried it with my laptop camera.

Some members are worried that scammers will take advantage of this to attack users. This means they could create QR codes on thousands of T-shirts and distribute them for free to steal BTC from inexperienced users. However, I think this effort is not as effective as what they could do now, such as creating fake ads on Google and crypto news sites. Ultimately, users should still be cautious and check websites multiple times before sending and mixing BTC.

I think some Windows app or browser extension allows you to scan QR code on your website directly, so I'd rather use that if I need to access QR codes instead of relying on my terrible webcam camera. Not to mention it can cause some privacy issues too. Maybe if Coinomize offers generated QR-code to make transaction easier or something similar, although I doubt the demand for that is high.

Btw, I realize that there are new post on the blog recently, at least according to the last edited date on the website. Is there any plan to continue updating them or is it just a random thing? Can someone sent articles to get featured anonymously?

I don't know, but for me, I will rely on my phone to scan the QR and check everything before the final click.

Seems likely that is the case based on the dates of the update. The could be keeping tabs of all the latest news about crypto mixers and tumblers and then put it up on the website for everyone to read.

I've never used them. In fact, I always tape over my laptop camera to avoid any privacy-related threats. I won't grant camera access to any app on my laptop, especially those related to finance.

If I've had enough time to use my laptop, I'd choose to use bookmarks to access Mixer links and use dedicated programs to recheck wallet addresses multiple times before sending my BTC. Some users might prefer using QR codes for Mixing, similar to daily payment habits, but I'm not one of them. BTC is a financial product for investment, not a payment that can be recovered through lawsuits and bank support.
