Are you referring to a $5 wrench attack? I don't think using a mixer can help us if our family wants to bash our heads. Are such things common in your area? As far as I'm aware, in my country there are only one or two cases where a criminal killed someone because they have a lot of crypto. They found that because the victim used Instagram and other social media to publish their journey. So yeah, make sure you don't flaunt your wealth and trust exchanges to secure your privacy after you use a mixer to obfuscate your transaction history.
I've read a lot of news about attacks and kidnappings related to crypto, there was even a big incident in Vietnam a few years ago. This is a real concern of mine, I've even stopped telling people that I'm involved in the crypto market. I usually complain about losses from the 2022 downtrend, that's how I protect my family.

When investors truly understand the value of anonymity and uses Mixers like Coinomize.biz, I believe they also know the need to hide their involvement and investment in crypto to avoid unnecessary risks. They will never share information about their account or crypto transactions on social networks because doing so doesn't create any value, and it can even create psychological pressure that leads them to make less sound decisions.

That's the right thing to do. Ideally, we should avoid exchanges or any similar service where giving our ID is necessary. I never shared or flaunted my wealth online but a database leak makes my e-mail become a target for phishing regularly. Luckily I can still hide my involvement with crypto to some extent. Using a mixer and practicing good security practices are necessary,. Can't really choose one over the other. I think there's an increase in awareness of security and privacy compared to my circle compared to years ago, especially after so many exchanges got hacked and many databases got sold on the internet.

If your email gets leaked and becomes a target for hackers, you can create a new email and update your account information on all CEXs to avoid unnecessary risks. Hackers will attack millions of crypto investors, and even if only a few thousand become victims, it's enough for hackers to steal a huge amount of crypto assets.

In the past, I also used to use my email to participate in airdrop & bounty campaigns and constantly received scam emails. Things only got better when I created a new email for real-life work and paid less attention to the old one for crypto. I also did the same to protect my identity: I used Coinomize.biz to mix BTC that I earned from freelancing, then sold it through P2P in small amounts to pay monthly bills instead of revealing the entire balance in my main address to dangerous people.

They both complement each other, so they are both invaluable, using a mixer without a good opsec defeats the purpose of using a mixer, i.e. if you keep your privacy, you should also know that your seed phrase must be backed up in more than one secure location. Attackers are now after our coins physically through $5 wrench attacks, so we have to be one step ahead, so as not to lose our coins to them.

It comes both to be honest and when someone is practicing good security, that individual is aware of how to increase anonymity in all terms and activities that are being done. The same as mine, I've noticed an increase of the awareness from my circle as well about these matters. There's something good going on and that's a good thing to call on.

Over time, the crypto market has developed, and investor awareness has also become more sophisticated. In addition to seeking profits, people have begun to pay attention to self-custody of assets and protecting their personal identity. Mixers are a necessary piece for the existence of the crypto market!

It would be great if we had data on the number of users and the amount of BTC that has been mixed through Coinomize.biz to have a more specific assessment of the real needs of users for anonymity. That could also be a motivation for potential users to decide to experience and use Coinomize.biz.

Wouldn't that imply a mixer service logs users' data regularly? I wouldn't be comfortable using a mixer if they post stats on how many coins they mixed, since there's no guarantee they don't log more than that. I don't think people who value privacy would like that either.

One of the biggest mixers in the past was found guilty of keeping transaction logs months after they processed them. I'm sure their customers don't like that. Encouraging people to care about privacy can be done in various ways IMO. Including but not limited to sharing cases about exchange hacks, $5 wrench attacks, home invasions, etc.

The only people who will actively ingest this data are blockchain analysis and law enforcement, so it's quite counterintuitive to  think about keeping analytics and other sorts of statistics, don't you think?

Who? Chipmixer? (I don't remember, but it was just private keys from the hot wallets that were swiped in that case). I can't think of any other examples.

I think it will be bad though if a crypto mixers will have to reveal the data or numbers that they have.

As users it's none of our concerns, as long as we felt that the mixer that we are using are not keeping any logs so that we won't be trace of have our footprints in the crypto space. The less we know, the better for us.

If he's referring to Chipmixer it is a grey area, 7TB of data has been sized but nobody has ever confirmed what that data was, it could have been logs but depends of what those logs where keeping adjust website data if collected entirely could reach GBs in days, or it could be also nodes as there were multiple servers. anyhow it's been almost two years and still no news of anything tracking back to CM.

Let's keep that secret, a mixer reputation should be measured in the longevity and user experience so I think we're good to date.

This would be the worst idea for a mixer ;) Nobody should know this for safety reasons.

I also understand that this is very difficult to do. But if Coinomize.biz only records number of users and total amount of BTC mixed, and does not store users' personal data (IP, addresses, amount of BTC), then users will not be affected. For example, we know the number of oranges a store sells in a day, but we don't know the details of the identity and quantity of oranges each customer has bought.

However, this is just my opinion. Coinomize.biz has its own philosophy and operating principles to ensure that users feel comfortable and safe when mixing BTC on the platform. The Coinomize.biz team knows what is best and most suitable for the needs of customers :)

Agreed. Information about the number of people who used the service can be used to promote this service and show that it is popular and safe to use.

Worst analogy though about oranges a store sell as compare to the source and recipient of the Bitcoin that is being mixed in any platform. There should be no way for someone to trace it. No logs at all.

However, this is just my opinion. Coinomize.biz has its own philosophy and operating principles to ensure that users feel comfortable and safe when mixing BTC on the platform. The Coinomize.biz team knows what is best and most suitable for the needs of customers :)

Everyone mixer has it's own philosophy, but one thing is that they guaranteed that their services provided untraceable coins. You are anonymous when you used their services. And there's no way that any authorities can trace it back to you when you used this mixers.

I think there's a fundamental difference between a service targeted for privacy and a regular fruit store. Again, I wouldn't be comfortable using a mixer if they publicly post stats since I can't verify anything at all even if they give a promise or something similar.

Agreed. Information about the number of people who used the service can be used to promote this service and show that it is popular and safe to use.
A long-lasting marketing campaign or the service's active time is also a good idea to show that the service is running well. I usually used a mixer because of these factors, not because they post data about their users' log history.

Who? Chipmixer? (I don't remember, but it was just private keys from the hot wallets that were swiped in that case). I can't think of any other examples.
Yeah, I'm referring to them. Maybe I misremember things but I'm sure I read somewhere that the government managed to collect some data as mentioned above.
