The leaders only want poor people around so that when they call for political rallies and party meetings, they can attract those vulnerable.
Take a look at the people who attend political rallies; the vast majority are poor people who have been mobilized with peanuts to make the candidate appear popular.
+1 mate actually the fact is the poorer the masses , the more easy it is to control them in fact the higher the number of poor masses the easier it is for them to be able to be bribed or deceived. The problem of unemployment is a big one. Take a good look at the  minimum wage and you'll find out that it's not even enough to take up the needs of a regular citizen.

The degrading economy affects literally everything ranging from cost of living to even management of businessess.

To me the most painful part is when applying for a job and they are looking for individuals with 5-10 years work experience me wey just dey graduate.
Nowadays looking for a white-collar job is difficult but having a skill or craft can also be helpful to provide for yourself, being an entrepreneur even do it is hard and expensive especially looking for  capital to start business is better than someone just waiting for or looking for job employment
unemployment in nigeria is a critical issues, for me my advice for us is to move ahead,we don't need to depend on the government anymore they have totally faild us,the best solution is to think the right alternative or decission to make either enrolling in skills acquisition or going to a business if you have the idea of business plan just be creative by the way everybody must not be a government worker.

This has always been the strategy the politicians use which the citizens and youths fail to understand, they just intentionally make things difficult for the citizens so that they are not gainfully employed. They do not bother doing any form of empowerment for the youths but only their lackeys and loyalists. They are just afraid because if they do the right thing, nobody would sing their praise and when it is time for campaign and election, nobody would side with anybody but rather they will vote with power and nobody would be cajoled and allow themselves to be used by the politicians to fulfill their goals during election hence their attitude and nonchalant display towards the economy and youth empowerment in the society.

Corruption at various levels of the country even though the government should be highly blamed for this because they are mean to serve and care for the safety of the lives of citizens, individuals also has a part to play in corruption, imagine a the MD of a private company automatically disqualifying Job applicants not because they don't deserve the job but because he or sh is keeping that job for his son or daughter who is still in the tertiary Institution. It's so absolutely evil of men. May God help us all

The issue of unemployment is really a disturbing and alarming situation in the country today, this has lead most youth into all sort of illicit and illegal activities all in the name of making money, sincerely speaking I don't entirely blame the youth the actual fault is from the government who are meant to provide jobs opportunities for its citizens, but has failed in that aspect, but when a citizen commits a crime, they are quick to arrest that individual all in the name of justice the reall injustice should be addressed which is providing job opportunities to the youths out there.

Even though the government doesn't provide jobs for the citizens doesn't give them the opportunity for them to engage in illegal behavior, citizens can create job opportunities for themselves by learning a skill or handwork which they can be able to secure enough money to take care of themselves. They have their mayes out there hustling and bustling just to earn a living. So let's stop blaming the government for everything the change to our life lies in our hands.

They have their mayes out there hustling and bustling just to earn a living. So let's stop blaming the government for everything the change to our life lies in our hands.

It is difficult for people to behave well in the face of poverty and poor governance. Most people engaged in illegal behavior in order to revolt against the government. When people believe that the government does not care about them, they will not be civic because they are frustrated that the few elites are the only ones benefiting from the country's treasury, and they will do anything to survive, whether it is legal or illegal.

Frustration can lead to aggression, and people no longer care what goes wrong. Learning a skill at an advanced level costs money, so not everyone can afford to learn a skill, and it is difficult because sponsorships are limited or unavailable.

Since the government hasn't created job opportunities for all citizens, it's important for us to set clear goals and do something that will be beneficial for ourselves. We can't rely solely on the government because the government is busy sustaining its own interest. As an unemployed person, be grateful to God for not creating you with a disability (handicap) because you will have some opportunities to sustain your life by finding something beneficial to do that with generate income. They are local skills that can earn you a perfect income beyond government work or white collar jobs such as setting up a business, tailoring, carpentry, bricklaying and so on. You have to work hard and dedicate your time to whatever you choose to do. You must stay committed to your work for you to be successful.

Nothing our government don talk about this, everyday more people dey finish school no work even to increase salary na problem Nigeria as e dey so the wahala plenty. If you no go you no go know.
I agree with you, you will see someone with legs, hands eyes, nose etc. all the body parts are complete, but he or she still keeps blaming the government, My very own question is that what is actually stopping him or her from creating a job for themselves, you don't expect the government to provide me everything for you.  Let's all take action and make life better for ourselves and that of our family, there are a lot of lucrative skills out there that one can delve into and become financially stable

Omo the unemployment rate for Nigeria too much wetin sef joor , including a large youth population, a lack of job opportunities,  no investment in education and training. This country na where we dey go sef, Nigeria economy depends on oil and gas sector, wen dey hard for global sector. As no job so many people dey struggling to find work so them fit chop .you know any possible solution wen dey my people, from the past 8 years now we dey hear change change not even one improvement sef na hard the country don hard like this. Who put am for mission impossible?  Most time sef you go read some course sef no job for that course for the country example biochemistry no work person go graduate nothing come out you go still go back farming. This thing when dey happen now dey make many people no like go school again, them look education as trash now. The situation don make many responsible youth join arm robbery, kidnaping, yahoo, and many fraudulent activity so. Nothing our government don talk about this, everyday more people dey finish school no work even to increase salary na problem Nigeria as e dey so the wahala plenty. If you no go you no go know.

Bro it not easy as you see it some really wants to  work or even get a business for themselves but the capital is stoping a lot of individuals. To get capital and start up a business will really takes alot of time cause in Nigeria no hand jobs can serve you bigger money for getting a capital but after all man have to hustle and get settled. So many are really trying and working hard for themselves but your point is positive many are still out there doing nothing complaining about the government each day and they are still sitting doing nothing. The faster we gather the money the sooner we enjoyed it. But the bad economic is really a negative impact to the society and the individuals in it, we pray for better governance.

Sometimes I see people who gets the opportunity mock at others or call them lazy. No matter how hardworking a man is he still needs someone's kindness to excel and that is why so many people with good plans cannot get their plans projected because of no support.

Some of these persons only need little push to stand on their feet but unfortunately they don't get the little push and so it appears as though they are not doing anything to get ahead.

We cannot wait while expecting for better days without taking some steps to make things work out for us as we have wanted, employment is not what the government can circulate to everyone, but we can make our own best in seeing that we are being independent and self sustainable for our own self, we can try to learn on skills trades, which will enable us to have our own personal capacity building for man power and we wont constitute the numbers of unemployed youth in the country, instead the employer of labourers.

What step do you want to take in that same country, the protest? It has been done and nothing serious came out of it, is it the vote of favourite candidate or the man that may do the good work, it has been done but didn't work out, all because there is too much political ethnicity within the country, they don't like each other

To me, if only one tribe remain in Nigeria and they are to create perfection for that country, it will not be as better as we think because the ways of Nigeria is what they are doing because everyone is wired and program to exploit the system, only God can lead that country well.

Gonna those days when people are interested and happy to go to school. Even now people are still having that mentality that after education they will secure good white collar jobs and be contented. Now if anyone is going to school it is not for public employment but for knowledge sake so he can use it to work in other platforms like self employed and online business like investment. Because investment like cryptocurrency needs knowledge. Nigeria governments do not care about it citizens again. Even if they are suffering it is not the government business in fact the government is the one increasing the suffering of the people. And if any graduate is waiting for the government to be employed, he is wasting his time.
