This is quite generous of you actually, however I don't think that would significantly improve the traffic brought to the voting. It's a logical thing that people will eventually take it more seriously if the prices were bigger but it would currently only be that effective if prices were to go around 4x or 5x which isn't something I'll recommend.

I have a similar attitude as dkbit98 in this case. I'm fed up with the inexplicable lack of support from other forum members for this kind of contest. Such a disinterested approach will certainly not help in the further development of the forum, including the introduction of new services with paid signature campaigns. That is what most people are interested in, and it seems to be the only interest.
This is a very bad signal for any future sponsor.

It seems that even payment is not enough motivation for some people, because Altcoinstalks Community Awards is giving rewards in real money.

Well from my local board Nigeria we use it as a general language. I think a couple of other languages have pidgin too as an alternative or informal mode of communication. Naija use pidgin as our local language since basically every ethnic group or language there understands it.
Nigeria is a pretty big country and our ethnic groups and tribes are over 750 so one singular language could seem bias hence pidgin.

So far we have gotten only 14 submission which is pretty low in my opinion. I had/have high hope for this event and I thought the number would be much higher. But seeing these makes me a little sad.

Despite our joint effort in local boards (via translation) and global boards (pinned post), we couldn't achieve a good amount of submissions. Personally I have tried my best to get my local folks into voting, quoting them, sending PM's, or mentions and some of them gave their votes.

So I hope all the other members would do the same in their local section. I mean come on guys, all of us knows someone, and that someone knows someone and so on! Can't we get minimum 5 guys from each locality? I don't think that would be so hard.

Also, there are currently several active signature campaigns. And each of these campaigns have at least 10-20 participant minimum. Don't they see, a big event going on for the first time on Altcoinstalk? Together their submissions will surpass 50-100 votes easily. But sadly we have only 14.

Lastly, I have an idea. Why not tell all the campaign managers to include a short message to their participants to give them a heads up regarding this event? This would gradually bring more people here.

We can't force members to vote if they don't want to do it, and that includes received financial reward...
I just checked how many active members we have in this forum at the moment, and that number is 66, probably including some bots.
I am not counting 3799 guests, but I am sure many members saw Altcoinstalks Community Awards topic.

Well that's true, we can't force any members to vote, ethically speaking we shouldn't. In that case we could ask people (invite) who we are close with, maybe they might be interested in participating....that's the least we can do in this situation.

With this little active members, we can't expect this event to be as similar what we experienced at BTT.

The patience I'm referring to is realizing where we are, that is, this isn't BTT with hundreds of users logging in every hour. The users on this forum aren't used to this kind of thing, and I agree with you, it's frustrating to see that now that there's so much movement and opportunity, users aren't moving, but I don't think we can do much more than what we've done, especially considering it's the first time.

This keeps popping up for me as I once commented in that topic, I even reported it to moderators for locking, but nothing happened.
Maybe we need to PAY money someone from administration to promote Community Awards.

Yes, it would certainly help in term of getting new participant, if the voting period were to extended. In the meantime, we should try to promote the event however we can. I understand this is the first time, and people aren't really moving. But I don't see any harm in trying. I have already gotten one person to vote, also some of them said they'll vote, it's just they were very busy. It would pleasant to see a considerable amount of voters.

Maybe some things will happen or will have to change as a result of this.

For example, rewards are decreased correspondingly, or less contestants are awarded.

You can't really compare this to Bitcointalk where there's enough variety to make sure that all the winners are picked by a wide margin.

I don't think we should compare the participation of that thread you're referring to with this one simply because you think it's a silly or useless thread. What we could compare is how long ago that thread about X/Musk was created and how long this thread/event has existed, the difference is very big.

I also don't think this event should be compared to the BTT awards. There aren't the same number of active users, although participation and new registrations are increasing every day. However, we are not the same age in terms of years online.

Because of the financial capacity of the event and if not the positions are not enough or completed. There should be Miss Altcoinstalks, Local Hero, so that women in the forum can also be nominated and participated with full force. And there will and increase of local participation and any local account that has not been active for some setting time or season can't participate.

And after this there should be another events like pie, pizza and pumpkin carving contests so the forum will be busy more and more. And it will make people to be active.
