we can not lock-unlock based on demand
we lock or we unlock based on long term objective
otherwise we will be requested often to lock and unlock for shorter or longer periods, and that's an additional workload no one wants.
once announcement of winners done, we can lock.

For others, this is the voting thread, please discuss in the discussion thread NOT here > otherwise you'll get negative karma.

No need to apologise. I wouldn't usually lock, only in this case to avoid wasting users time based on discussion occuring there. But you're right it's better managed with -karma for any users annoyed by replies there.

OP can always lock thread if preferred.

If I counted right, so far we have gotten total 34 votes which is certainly a good sign! We still have 3 days left until the voting session closes, I think we can squeeze a little bit more votes from everyone!

This number is not that great, but campaign for voting and newly added top bar helped a lot to increase number of people who voted.
I think we all need to prepare better for next voting, but this was ok start for experimental new thing in AltcoinsTalks.

at the moment those who have been declared are the category winners, of the badges

What do you mean by Bad guys? Those who were nominated but didn't won due to less votes? Or something else?

If the first one the case then don't say bad guys lol ..unqualified would be more fitting term.

Anyway congratulations to the winners! This event ended better than my expectations! Looking forward to next years Altscoinstalks community award!

Does it make sense to reward spammers? I don't think so..
we do a lot to fight them, but if we then make everyone participate, it doesn't make much sense, don't you think?

It was just one multi-account removed per voting topic edit. So not even multiple which would effect votes.

Thanks also to babo for agreeing to update list, I wasn't going to let a multi win something here if possible.

Have discussed with admin, they will receive the custom title of the category they won, ie "Forum Hero", "Altcoinstalks Ninja", etc. It'll appear where "Presidential assistant" appears on my profile for example. I did suggest membergroups with badges, but it's not worth it to have such groups for one member, so custom title is preferred by admin. You reminded me to remind admin about this, thanks.

Badges are a fun thing that doesn't cost anything, so even as an admin of other forums I'm always in favor of using them
they are fun things that help you understand a little better how a community works and give a greater sense of belonging
so that's why they are desired and coveted, even if they aren't money

For example you already have titles Presidential assistant and Legendary, than there is Teleported and other subtitles.

yes in the voting thread they were announced
- the 5 winners per category, those who won the badge, to be clear
- the 10 winners of the raffle, chosen from those who voted

so you just have to go there to understand who won what, you can find the link in the first post of the thread

I think you're confusing custom titles with membergroup, none if which use custom titles as the two are not connected in this way. President & VP uses a default title, which is again separate, likewise with the bad ranks etc.

Most people seem to appreciate the uniqueness to the forum that badges provide, and I believe the same would be true of recognising community award winners with custom titles, similar to how myself & hair have been given this privilege as ex Presidents for our service to the forum, even if in a different way ie customizable.

Maybe one day ill get another default title assigned again and end up with three titles/ranks 🙃

Edit for admins sake: am not opposed to default titles either, but assume you wouldn't do this as would involve many membergroups etc.

The contest was a great success.
I am confident that next year we will see increased user participation in the voting process.
I greatly appreciate the format of the contest—not only are the nominees rewarded, but voters as well, which should encourage higher engagement in the future, assuming the format remains the same.
